Hello all Grin

Ds1's birthday today, my parents are coming later and then party tomorrow. I am up to my neck in icing!
Cake is looking fab, I have done a round one as a head and then cut ears out of another cake. Chocolate buttercream for fur and then sweets and liquorice for details. Am feeling very proud of myself Grin

Evening ladies :)

The cake was a HUGE success. Extremely yummy and DS1 recognised that it was the Gruffalo which was the main thing. I will post a picture once I get myself organised.

I just wanted to share the fact that I have cleared up completely from the party and there is a load of washing waiting by the machine for the morning.
The toy overflow is going to take longer to deal with!!

Spacehoppa · 25/07/2011 13:23

I have finally filed my tax return which has been on the last 1000 lists/ time for another list for this week

garden
hoover
hospital (CT scan-bit poorly)
windows
dr appointment
washing
ironing
kitchen
bathroom
sort daughters clothes
leavers party nursery.

Done my volunteering for the week. No paid work sadly.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 25/07/2011 21:58

Spacehoppa hope you are ok? CT scan doesn't sound good.. :(

JKS I hope DS1 is having a fab time? I used to go and stay with my GPs for a week on my own every summer and I have some fabulous memories :)

Today has been a bit of a write off, I had an awful night's sleep last night - DS2 didn't settle properly until 2.30am!! and then DS1 was in with me at 6am.

What I have done is written DS1's birthday thank yous already, just need to get him to scrawl on them in the morning and then they can go to the post box. Also got car insurance sorted and managed to save £300 across both cars which is pretty good!

TOMORROW
All usual
Remember to take sausage casserole out of the freezer
Post thank yous and car insurance docs
Dusting
Continue toy sorting
Wash the next box of baby clothes

So much to do. so little inclination...

Done a few bits but still loads to do including
Clean bathroom
dusting
ironing mountain
pack for hols
empty understairs cupboard so can fit stuff back in without adding to the avalanche/

And have told friend will go to library and park with her this afternoon even though I really don't want to

Am tired, spotty, hair is lank, having to wear glasses cos have had eye infection, wearing shit clothes cos rest are in ironing mountain or waiting to be packed and am feeling grumpy and antisocial (is also wc's bday which is adding to my grump). Would rather not face the public.

But on the plus side we are going to stay with friend and dd on thurs for 5 nights and we are hopefully getting kittens in a couple ofweeks Smile

JustKeepSwimming · 26/07/2011 13:23

Freak - kittens, yey :)

Ali - yes he's having a fab time, have chatted on skype and he's far too busy to do more than say hi Grin

Aw Freaky, you'll feel better for going out. All I've done is pop to post office and shop and I feel loads better, was in an unnecessary grump this morning.

Ali, well done on the party and the cake!

Spacehoppa, you ok?

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 26/07/2011 19:19

Wasting - 30 weeks??? Shock When did that happen! You must take it easy, I hit a massive wall at about 32/33 weeks and just literally couldn't do things any longer. I am sure that it didn't help that it was February - most depressing month ever!!

Freaky - hope you got out and are feeling better :) Update us on the WC situation when you get a moment/can be arsed :)

JKS - where do you get your foot cast kit from? I had DS1's feet done when he was 4 months, and I really want to get T's done too but I can't remember who did it. So I was planning to buy a kit and do it myself - any recommendations?

Today has been almost a total write off. I've definitely got a bug of some kind, feel all lightheaded and peculiar and my throat is really sore. I have done a sorting of toys though, and DS1's thank yous are all ready to post now that he has added his scrawl.

And we are making progress with potty training. Several wees in the potty today, and he has started going of his own accord rather than me having to remind him all the time. No pooing yet Hmm Sorry, far TMI I know but I am obsessed with cracking this with him before he goes back to preschool in September. Grin

TimeWasting · 26/07/2011 19:57

Ali, I know, how is it nearly August?! I'm trying to get on top of things so I can start to relax a bit more, but my lists keep getting longer!

DS doesn't wipe his own bum or pull his own trousers up at the minute, and he won't pee standing up Hmm but can't onto the toilet himself. Grin Each week he seems to be a little more independent.
DN who was 3 in December won't poo yet, always waits til he's in his night-time nappy, and the TAs assured me that many children just won't poo at nursery, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Grin

Hope your bug goes quick.

JustKeepSwimming · 26/07/2011 22:07

Wasting - 30 weeks??? blardy hell how did that happen?!

Ali - i got it through an ebay seller called Creative Casting, google you should find them. the kit i got is pricey but in theory you can make several casts with the stuff. Luckily the first attempts with DD worked as it can be a faff, but really worth it in the end.

Last Tues orch tonight, we played at a fundraiser for Help for Heroes, still have Wed afternoon orch which is easy music but still good to get the clarinet out of the box :)

Morning, I swear I would need to be up at 6am to get on the computer. I swear I must have the only teenagers that dont lie on. I have had to put 1hr time constraint on the computer as DD1 has become most unsociable, she has turned 13 in style. Moods, not washing, not going out but slowly but surely turning her around. How they can go from adorable and cute toddlers to sour and uncommunicative teenagers beats me!

TO DO
Make Beds (left dc to make own beds, no sheets or duvet covers on them last night when I did night check Hmm)
Wash Breakfast Dishes
Downtown
Get Something for lunch
Buy School Uniforms
Washing
Drying
Tidy Kitchen

JKS thanks for the tip, I will look them up.

I still feel poorly and had a bad night again. DS2 was fine, only one waking but DS1 was in with us from 4.30 Hmm I really need to be more firm with him and put him back in his own bed, but a cute snuggly toddler crying 'but Mummy I just want one more cuddle' is hard to resist Grin

TO DO
Clear up breakfast
Kitchen bin
Get showered and dressed
Strip our bed and wash the sheets
Tidy downstairs
Hoover downstairs
Dust downstairs
Sheets onto the line

Me and DS2 to Boots and post box and Sainsbury's
Nap for me and DS2 maybe?
Dinner (steak?)

Hi everyone

I've been trying to get on here for days and my computer/mumsnet was freezing me outSad

So I wasn't able to ramble my worries over dd2s passport, which cut along story short, I booked our holiday realised her passport was out of date, mad dash to get photos etc, then post office said I would be better going down to office with it costing an EXTRA £56 EEEK,
But went down on Monday, and panic over as it came last night HOW QUICK WAS THAT? Took the sting out paying the guts of £100 for her passport!

So anyway we're going on holiday, YEY! Exact same place as last year so I can't wait!

So ironing is mostly complete so list for today

leave ds to Gaelic
Tesco
put away all ironing (nothing else will be done until this is done)
dd1 practise paper

JustKeepSwimming · 28/07/2011 20:11

CC & Plum - ouch on the spending!!

Made it to St Thomas' Hosp today for blood tests & to meet the milk bank lady, so all 'good to go' from tomorrow :)
Also went to Ikea on the way home, didn't spend too much but got some useful bits. After 7 years in this house we finally have something other than paper globes as lampshades in some rooms lol Grin
