JKS :( I always feel the need to get a bit drunk after funerals. The first one I ever went to was my Grandpa's and he left a specific budget in his will that was to pay for booze at his wake. It has clearly set a precedent in my mind! :)

I have not stopped today but chaos still reigns. How is this possible????

Ali - sounds like a plan. and a great idea of his! I feel like a cuppa and a sit down hasn't quite done justice to him somehow Hmm i think a tipsy gathering with everyone reminiscing would be better :)

minimammoth · 13/07/2011 21:33

Popped in to say hi. not been listing lately. Sad about your conductor JKS, will the orchestra keep going? Hope so.
I like the 'what if I won the lottery (which I haven't) game'.
mine would be:
have a massive hot flush
pay the whole families mortgages
get dh's parents a nice home and some good care
go shopping
get house decorated, repaired,
see the world trip
then do some sensible planning

PlumBumMum · 14/07/2011 11:04

Hugs JKS, Hope you are feeling a bit better today,

I'm baking today, and sun is still shining which is good
have dd1 doing a practise paper for her entrance exam

AND eek I have bought a dye for my hair, I used to buy them all the time so don't know why I'm nervous but I'll give it a go later!

Ali when are you starting your cake?
JKS whats the theme for your ds1s party?

JustKeepSwimming · 15/07/2011 19:46

Um, Plum, no theme lol! It's at a soft play, just need to bring along a cake for them to cut up, maybe a balloon or two. It's the mega-lazy option. I think I will just buy a shop-cake Blush, a chocolate one with lots of sweets on top!

I hope the orchestra keeps going too, I've been part of it for nearly 6 years now, but the conductor pretty much ran it for 25 years. No idea how we go about finding a new conductor, the trombone player is happy to carry on for now but not indefinitely.

Been rubbish about lists recently, must get back into gear. Off out to a 'Jamie at Home' party in a minute, with a few glasses of Wine i hope :)

So, the weekend:

  • brother here so may get extras done
  • swimming possibly
  • attack Ongoing list if poss
  • donate bags of baby clothes to women's refuge if poss
  • donate bedding to homeless centre (open at the weekend?)
  • other stuff?

Ongoing:

  • Find new dentist that is taking on NHS nervous patients for me/investigate private; DH thinks his will take me on too
  • order blind for kitchen side door
  • pictures to label 'animals' & 'people' & 'cars' boxes

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 17/07/2011 16:44

Hello lovelies :)

Hate to say it but got on quite well with flylady last week :o

However, today the kids have trashed my house, so going to set the timer for 5mins in each room once the kids are in bed.

We are having dinner now (dh is away, kids are very tired after a busy weeekend) so early dinner then bath and a story for the kids and hopefully them both asleep by 7pm

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 17/07/2011 17:39

Ok, both dcs fed and bathed and having milky drinks watching ITNG

Going to have 10mins in the kitchen I think, but going to start with 5mins in the dining room.

Yes I know, riveting stuff.

Ready, steady GO!

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 17/07/2011 18:35

Kids in bed(still awake but happy and quiet -dd is reading to ds) kitchen done, dining room done and sitting room done. Now watching harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban :o

TimeWasting · 18/07/2011 08:03

Morning!

Had a good time on holiday, and made a great start to the post-holiday time by being unpacked with washing in the machine before we'd even got DS to bed on Friday. Smile
The weather has been rubbish though, so still plenty of washing to do, but there always is. Grin

  • breakfast done
  • put water on to heat up done
  • strip beds done

Before 9 (feeling ambitious this morning) -

  • upload photos onto laptop
  • put washing in
  • water plants
  • oj, spatone and vits
  • wash pots
  • swish and swipe
  • shower and dress

Wowser.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 18/07/2011 08:10

Morning! Must list today as I'm taking the boys down to my parents for a few days and need to be organised.
Still in bed BFing ds2 atm.

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 18/07/2011 08:28

Morning :)

Glad you had a good holiday Wasting, and I am very impressed at being unpacked so soon, usually takes me at least a week!

Hi Ali, how are you getting on?

Kids are very pleased to see DH this morning (and the presents he brought back for them) We have had a cooked breakfast this morning as DH didn't get any dinner last night.

TO DO
Clear up breakfast
Put washing in tumble (very wet here)
Get dd dressed
Get ready to leave the house
Go to horses
Go to playgroup - take cakes
Lunch
Dd school
Ds nap while at the horses
Pick dd up
Give kids a drink and snack and telly on
Take a binbag up to our bedroom and chuck out a load of rubbish (flylady)
Put some washing away
Do dinner
Kids bath and bed
5mins dining room
10mins kitchen
5mins sitting room

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 18/07/2011 08:45

I am pleased and slightly embarrassed to say that there is lots of flylady that I don't need! We are decluttered pretty much, and everything has a place to live. I need to be better at sink shining Grin

OP posts:
TimeWasting · 18/07/2011 08:53

My sink is that plastic fake granite stuff, so I can't shine it. Grin Washing the pots in the evening continues to be my Achilles heel, but it generally gets done every day now, which is a huge improvement from years back.
I love decluttering so much. I've been reading lots about minimalism on the net lately. I've got two ornaments left, and one of those DH sneaked back in. Grin

Dedalus, sounds like a nice morning. Smile

  • upload photos onto laptop done and spent too long sorting into folders
  • put washing in done
  • water plants done
  • oj, spatone and vits done
  • wash pots started cleaned sink and done first bowlful
  • swish and swipe
  • shower and dress

Not too bad really. If I can get that lot finished before 9.30 I'll be awesome... Go!

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 18/07/2011 09:12

I have got to the point where I need someone to tell me what to do, I don't have the brain power to think and do :o

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 18/07/2011 09:26

DS has changed our plans a bit this morning. He bumped his face on the stairgate (i think, i had just nipped to the loo) and when i ran back downstairs his face was covered in blood. He has cut the gum just above his front teeth and has a very fat lip. He has had some calprofen and is having his nap in his cot rather than in the car as we didn't really hve enough time to get to the horses and get them done before playroup after the blood clean up. Poor boy Sad

DONE
Clear up breakfast
Put washing in tumble (very wet here)
Get dd dressed
Put another washload on
Sweep up under highchair

TO DO
Check what time the PO closes
Get ready to leave the house
Go to playgroup - take cakes
Lunch
Dd school
Ds nap while at the horses
Pick dd up
Go to PO?
Give kids a drink and snack
Take a binbag up to our bedroom and chuck out a load of rubbish (flylady)
Put some washing away
Do dinner
Kids bath and bed
5mins dining room
10mins kitchen
5mins sitting room

I have had to change washing powder (again) as we were using the non-bio sensitive washing liquid because of DD's skin, but all our clothes just smell musty and never really looked that clean, so i have taken to getting some bio powder and napisan and putting the clothes through an extra rinse and spin and the clothes came out feeling clean iyswim? I just hope it doesn't aggravate(sp?) DD's skin Confused

TimeWasting · 18/07/2011 10:09

Poor DS Dedalus. Sad
I tried that Surcare, and even washing it twice just didn't get things clean. I find normal Non-bio to be ok though. I think I might get some bio in though, helps to clean the machine out, as well as getting the worst out of some clothes.
Hope her skin's ok, eczema is horrible.
I'm so relieved mine has cleared up, finally. I'm so glad Plum I think it was told me about Aveeno.
Still had to use the hardcore stuff from Docs and move house, Grin but it's making it possible to keep it properly moisturised now.

So, I'm mostly awesome, few pans soaking and I've got a few bits of admin done (+assisting Ds with 2 toilet visits and much snack acquisition).
What next?

  • read to DS
  • coffee and snacktime
  • hang washing
  • put washing in
  • Get DS colouring/playdoughing
  • finish tidying kitchen up
  • find a recipe (I want to do baking on Mondays, for snacks for the week. Bit ambitious Grin)
minimammoth · 18/07/2011 10:25

hello Wasting. Not caught up in ages. How long have you been in new house now. Hope its gone well. Not listing at the mo. but all goes on as usual.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 18/07/2011 10:28
