In effect I have two weeks, though we want to have "moved" by end of next week. Van is booked for next Wednesday to move the big stuff. I need the rented place empty by that weekend, so I have time to get it cleaned etc before kids break up (two weeks today!)....

Sadly, no removal firm involved, just me, DH, our cars plus a proper van for one day..... But yes, JKS, boxing up and labelling will start in earnest tomorrow - I have at least ten boxes just sitting waiting now, so if I can get stuff into those tomorrow and moved then I will really feel like I am doing something. It's less than a mile, so it's the packing and loading and unloading which is the time consuming bit. At least the journeys are short.

Ah well. It will be worth it. Now to read in collapse into bed.

Ooooo its a bit echoey in here. Hope the move went/ is going/ will go well Anon.(delete as approp). Gardening day here today, have just about re landscaped one corner. now knackered. Having . house tip might have to get back into listing.

Lovely weekend here, we've had friends here and my brother and basically lived outside and eaten too much.

DH has handed in his notice and has a start date for the new job so all that is sorted as well which is a big stress removed! And we have booked a holiday for October so looking forward to that.

The next project is hopefully getting planning permission to extend. So I need to find out what who we need to speak to etc. Anon - any tips??

Need a list! I have got a lot to get done by thursday. I have my Grandma, Aunt, great Aunt and cousin coming up for ladies day. House needs to be clean and tidy(ish) My grandma, aunt and cousin are fine, but my great aunt is someone who irons teatowels but she wouldn't say anything.

My list for tomorrow is short. I have ishoos.

Thursday:

• Get three of us up, clean, fed and out of house by 08:20
• Buy stuff for and make sandwiches for party at toddler group
• Make it to toddler group
• Buy cat food/litter
• Do dishes and 2 loads laundry.
• Be in bed before 10

I really should have a list today because the sun came out yesterday evening and showed me just how much dust there was and how many little handprints on the windows/patio door etc. But thankfully it has been raining all day so far so the urge has gone Plus I have two small boys coming to make pizzas and have a sleepover tonight so any cleaning or tidying would be pointless right?!

Hello! Long time no see. I've been doing really well with housework etc., but have not been tidying as we go along today due to staying up too late last night and not being arsed also.

• put shoes back in shoe basket as Ds is incapable of locating his shoes unless all the others are on the floor too

Hello, lovely to see all the oldies all on at the same time! (this is Alice btw, with my Harry Potter name [hgrin])

My house is a bit of a hole atm. I have a declutter thread going which is helping, but means the day to day stuff is slipping. Not helped by DH putting the bin out a day late, so the black bin going 4 weeks instead of 2 [hhmm] there are maggots round the rim Think i will chuck some bin deoderiser in then bleach round the edge.

Anyway, enough about my glamorous life [hgrin]

Oh no! Not the bin visitors! We had them here the third week we were here because the prevoius occupants left the black bin full so by the time it was emptied again I'd had stuff hanging around for three weeks. I was very proud of myself though and cleaned it out afterwards myself.

I bleached round the rim of the wheely bin, and when I went back out they were all shrivalled up and dead, so that is good.

I haven't been very productive today. Been to the park and cooked a roast is about it.
