Today is disastrous actually, can't get motivated. I have a 'situation', there is a thread in Chat and that is absorbing my thoughts so I'm finding it hard to get on with things.

Small lists needed, it has been a long time since I needed to do this!

Ali read your thread, sounds awkward but I'm sure once you speak to her it will be fine. She probably hadn't properly considered the logistics of you going but can't see her being annoyed once you explained it to her.

Been fairly productive today,despite having both dc at home. have sorted my bras, got rid of some I'd been keeping in case my boobs shrank againand some others that have never fit right but that I kept because they were pretty! Have also sorted the toy baskets, didn'tneed to cull as had done it fairly recently but they were a bit jumbled so everything is now back in it's place. And tidied the bathroom cabinet and emptied all the bins.

Have just silicon sealed the bath. New list till FRI PM

No I haven't spoken to her yet. She has a long commute so I'm going to call once DS1 is in bed.
It is just so awkward, and from her perspective I remember how hard it is as someone without children, to grasp just how difficult it can be to do certain things once you've got children.

Ali - i agree, i shudder to think of how thoughtless i might have been pre-DC with my friends who had DC!

Yes I used to be one of those too, some distant time ago!!

DS2 has been asleep ALL day. (Hence me getting so much done) He woke at 7.15am and midday for feeds and was awake for an hour each time, and apart from that he's been asleep since 11.30pm last night. He is just waking now, and will I expect be awake until midnight!

My house is ready to move in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a shame no furniture until Monday, but what's a few days after eight long months.....

Anyway, it needs a bit of a clean down - lots of dust from the carpets and last of the works that have been going on, so I have a couple of days to sort that before stuff comes back from storage..

We have spent the day at a farm for DS1's summer preschool trip. Thank god my Mum came with me to help out, I am exhausted enough as it is!
Have hauled some bolognese out of the freezer for dinner - no list today

School as normal here today (thank goodness - the school days are not long enough right now!). Though according to the local paper most schools were affected, state and private, even if not completely closed, certain year groups could not go in, other than ours!

God I don't know where to start with packing up - am rather overwhelmed with it. . So far I have just been grabbing random things and stuffing them in the car and carting round to the "new' place.... I need a slightly more systematic approach I think. Found masses of empty boxes in the garage (hurrah) so I think I just need to start emptying drawers and cupboards. DH is at the cricket tonight, so if I do one hour in our room, I'll at least make a start.....

Help!

What about packing things as you want them to be when you get to the other end?

The dinner was disgusting, no idea why - so DH went to Macdonalds. Haven't had one in months and it was yummy!

Forgot, Anon - it must be tempting to think you can just pootle over with a few things now and then, but yes i think you need to tackle it as if you were moving 'normally'; boxes, labelled up, etc.
How long have you got the rented place for?

Anon - when we moved here, we had the removal firm pack up the house for us. Best £300 we ever spent
