Anon. Am worried. If you only nearly survived another day, are you undead? Grin

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 13/04/2011 20:35

Blardy hell I am shattered. The day was going excellently, and I had even managed to spend some time doing jigsaws with DS1 and having lovely cuddles with him on the sofa while DS2 was sleeping. Then 5pm arrived Shock It went like this..
Changed DS2
Fed DS2
Changed DS1 who had done a huge poo nappy while DS2 was feeding
Changed DS2 again who had done a huge poo nappy while I was changing DS1
Changed DS2 again because he wee'd everywhere just as I was getting his nappy on, and he needed a full change of clothes
Then DH got home, thank God.

I am in bed, and I think I will get some sleep in now ahead of whatever tonight has in store for us.

Morning Smile

Ali i found i was in a bit of post natal manic-ness too, i got so much done in the first few weeks, god kows how!! Don't overdo it! I also find 4pm til when DH gets home (about 5-6pm) the hardest time of day, we are all tired, hungry and grumpy. Have you been to any groups with both the boys yet? They have been a life saver! Everyone is willing to help out a mum with a newborn.

JKS????

DS slept in DD's room last night for the first time. He still wakes in the night, but has a good run of not waking til 4.30am, so figured we could put the travel cot in her room and see how we get on. Was ok, both went to sleep well, DS woke at 4.30 and 5.30 for feeds but didn't wake DD. I had a dreadful night though!

House is looking grotty again, don't really know where to start Confused Just waiting for DS to go to sleep (in his cot desperately fighting his nap) then i will get started.

TO DO
Sort and fold clean dry washing
Dry wet washing
Put another load onto wash
Unload dishy
Reload dishy
Clear up breakfast (epic job, DS had readybrek Confused)
Wipe down kitchen sides
Have a cup of tea

I think DS is waking up now - so much for a cup of tea in peace!

PlumBumMum · 14/04/2011 10:07

I always found that bit of the evening stressful too, because I was always wishing dinner could magically appear on the table

Right have a cake to do
so that is my priority this morning

Spacehoppa · 14/04/2011 10:10

Hello Dave, my house is a bit of a tip too. Quick list for today and tomorrow

Clean larder
Washing
Ironing
Food shopping
Dates for nursery
Dance workshop
Friends for coffee
Gardening
Clean hard floors
finish mag with daughter
read trade mag
Make cake?

This should do for starters

SupersonicDave · 14/04/2011 10:28

Exactly Plum! It is the time when your children are tired, hungry and wanting attention, yet you have some raw meat and unpeeled potatoes needing your attention even more, and you are thinking "Really, are Iceland's ready meals really that bad, would save a lot of stress...." Grin

I got a new cook book for Mothers' Day. Rachel Allen's Home Cooking - i love it! All the recipes are family friendly and i have tried loads of recipes so far. I am going to make Alphabet soup for lunch.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 14/04/2011 10:39

Morning all :)

JKS?

Plum - yes that is exactly it. Fortunately yesterday there was already a casserole in the oven that my Mum had made the day before when she was here Grin There is currently no plan for tonight's dinner

Dave - sounds good on the sleeping front with DS!
I've been nowhere yet - except into town with my Mum for lunch and to get DS1's hair cut. I can't drive yet, and the buggy with both boys is too heavy for me to push further than Sainsbury's which is v.v close.
Another week I and hope to be out and about :)
