Thanks JSW for your post on the other thread, much appreciated and how lovely, new babies on the way for yourself an ALI! Take it easy both, too much cleaning can be bad for your health or at least that's what I used to tell myself Grin

made list of door hooks, little boxes etc that we need from Ikea DONE

Off to new house with DP now to paint hall (we are trying to keep the costs down by doing the hall and our room ourselves), so will not manage the items I did not get done on Tuesday.

MUST catch up with these when I have a moment!

Anonymousbird · 26/01/2011 09:56

Morning ladies.

After DH's knee "incident" at the weekend, he saw the surgeon this morning. Has offered to do the procedure tomorrow.... DH quite apprehensive, but maybe just needs to bite the bullet. We have a very quiet couple of weeks at home, no big social things, his work is quiet and he needs to be fit to start travelling for work again at the beginning of March, so now really is a good time... which means, in case DH needs help/ferrying around, I need to get my act together! He is "thinking about it". I think he needs to just do it, and be done, he is in pain anyway after the injury on Saturday, and not all that mobile anyway....

Oh, and my garden guy has billed me for the full 6 hours he was supposed to work, but didn't,.. so I need to deal with that today too.... he is getting the sack!

So, today looks something like:

  • Up, showered and dressed DONE
  • Major tidy up
  • General tidy, make beds etc
  • DC to school DONE
  • Fill/Run/Empty DW
  • Washing first load of bedding in now
  • Ironing
  • On line banking
  • Check dehumidifier
  • Building project finances
  • Collect post from house
  • Go see builders
  • Collect dog food DONE
  • Chickens
  • Dog
  • Pay Utilities Warehouse Bill
  • Sort stuff to list on Ebay
  • Remake the beds
  • Refix with EON ? part done, but need to shop around for a possible ?switch?
  • Call Builder re costings
  • Feb house budget Started - needs more work
  • Babysitter for school quiz night
  • Get fire going
  • Make dinner

Next few days

  • Clean DH's car
  • Find Maths worksheets for DS and phonics for DD
  • 121 tutorials
  • Organise some more tea dates for DC
  • List more eBay
  • Set up weather station
  • Start to think about lighting, bathrooms, doors?. look through MIL's magazines and online for ideas
  • Two costumes for DD and DS this term at school

Dsis is here, quite like this two adults thing Grin I was able to have a shower in peace and she got ds dressed so shaved 5 mins off what I needed to do. She has also hoovered the sitting room for me Grin

Having pampered chef party this eve so need to make house look semi ok...

Will catch up on ever

FreakoidOrganisoid · 26/01/2011 10:22

y one else later

Oh and friend's ds has pneumonia and coincidentally had a reaction to reflux meds as well which caused the seizure Sad

FreakoidOrganisoid · 26/01/2011 10:22

How did that happen Confused

Anonymousbird · 26/01/2011 10:38

Oh crap, you mentioning your pampered chef party has reminded me - I was supposed to be at one this morning, completely forgot. Sad Never been to one, so was very interested to go along and check it out....

Sounds like it is nice having your DSis around.

Sorry to hear about your friend's DS, poor thing, is he in hospital/getting the right treatment now?

Have sent a "justify your time" text to my garden chap, let's see what he says. I am stupidly (unreasonably) anxious/nervous about it, which is ridiculous, because a) I am the customer and b) he is trying to diddle me!!!

Ah well

Anonymousbird · 26/01/2011 11:21

Ok, I am Slattern of the Year. It's official.

I warmed up to the title last week, when I admitted to mopping the floor for the first time in two months.

However, today, I reached the pinnacle (or should that be depths?) that any Slattern can possibly reach.

I cleaned the inside of the lid of our pedal bin for the first time in two years. I know it is that long because I am as certain as it is Wednesday that it has not been done since we bought it. I do the top of the lid nearly every day, but the inside.. well, it wasn't pretty!

Change of plan for today. F was wheezing (has a cold) so took him to Dr and postponed friend til next week. He has been prescribed a baby inhaler to help shift the snot on his chest, but good news there is no infection and Dr doesn't think it is actually asthma.

Alice - my DD had an inhaler from very young, though technically not asthmatic. These days (5yo now) we have them on standby as we tend to need them when she has a cold, goes straight to her chest. The inhalers make a big difference to her, really ease the coughing and most importantly make sure she has a good night's sleep... most of the time!

Right, DC despatched to MIL's for tea, so I have two hours to MN generally get sorted for what is bound to be a busy few days looking after DH after his op tomorrow...
