I am now reclining smuggly with a G&T, having survived the traumas of the day. I have unearthed a strange flat object under paper monsters pile. 'tis smooth and brown. I have garnered a mammoth pile of paper to re use in the printer. But we must not rest...Oh no. We shall endure, until there is order. We shall fight them in the office......
Sinks into cushions gibbering.

Evening everyone :)

Fairly successful day here, DS2 managed a whole 3 hours solid sleep in his hammock last night, followed by another 3 hours sleep on his back in our bed - now that is progress!

Mini your posts do give me a chuckle, you conjure some great images Grin

JKS - sympathies on the F/F. We were a bit horrified by how much a decent one was, but are hoping the one we've now got will last for many years!

I will put a pic up at some point - probably just for you lot here to see. He is very beautiful if I do say so myself Grin

DONE
All up and dressed and breakfast done by 10am
Cleaner 10am
Plan meals for the rest of this week and book an online shop for Friday
Garden and/or park for DS1 (DH)

Ali - how much did yours cost? The one i've decided on is £850 Shock and i still have to measure the hole to make sure it will fit. But i did see one on the John Lewis website for £12,500 - no that is not a typo!! Not sure what it did to be so expensive fab!

Anon - I do think they are probably worth it though. THe one we've got is 10years old so I figure 1500 (or 850) divided by 10 is pretty good. Of course the new ones probably won't last that long Hmm

Having a lovely day here, we've been out in the garden - DH bbq'd for lunch and FIL was here for a couple of hours. DS1 has been in his sandpit and pottering about for hours :)

JKS - we got a Miele for £800. We haven't got the space for an american style one so it was a question of the biggest standard dimension one we could find. It is so tall that I cannot reach anything on top of it Grin

JustKeepSwimming · 06/04/2011 19:39

Ali - Miele is a good brand, our dishwasher is a Miele, the people before us bought it don't think we would have stretched to 800+odd for a dw - when it broke last year we looked at replacing it, luckily got it fixed but for about 200+ for which we could have bought a new cheapo dw. So watch out for your repair bills!

Lost the plot with DH earlier as i burnt the fish fingers, he was later than he said he would be and DS1 was being a misery-guts. Retired to bed with tea & biscuits - thanks to DH - didn't deserve that really!

Another good day here :) DS2 is ramping up the feeding, he had gained weight when the midwife came today so things going well.

JKS - glad you have got an F/F sorted. Interesting that the repair guy said not to get a Samsung - our old f/f that is now in the garage being used essentially as a wine and drinks fridge is a Samsung which we bought 6 years ago and we have never had the slightest problem with it

DONE
All clean and fed
DH took DS1 to Monkey Music
Lots of garden playtime with DS1
BF DS2 x many
Midwife visit
Make appointment to register DS2's birth
Book myself a manicure and pedicure - someone coming Sunday
Book ironing pick up
Finalise Waitrose order for tomorrow

DOING
DS2 asleep in moses basket after monster feed
DH and I eating cake and watching the golf :)

minimammoth · 07/04/2011 21:31

A bit late but evenin' all. I had a frivolous moment over the weekend and ended up buying new telly. A bargain from M&S of all places so am v. pleased. Got rid of mammoth analogue on freecycle. So lots more space now.
Poor Dh has had his teeth out today, upper molars, so he is out of it on painkillers. Am hoping that his general health will improve once he is healed.
Tomorrow wll be gardening. I will be resisiting the urge to go anywhere near office, although it has the gravitational pull of a black hole.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/04/2011 22:25

Mini - rotten teeth, puss in gums etc can be really damaging so fingers crossed that getting them out does have good knock-on effects.

JustKeepSwimming · 08/04/2011 06:10

Mini - good luck to your DH today :)

Scrap people came last night so old f/f is gone :) Means we can move borrowed fridge into the hole and be ready for birth pool plan again, phew.

Hello lovely Slatterns Smile

Ali congrats!! And welcome to baby Thomas!!!

How long have you got JKS?

Anon are you in the E Anglia area? We are near Cambridge.

DS is nearly 8m now Shock we are still trying to get him sleeping that little bit better, but gradually improving. He has got 2 teeth too, and thankfully (?) he didn't catch the pox.
He is still asleep, that is the second decent nap he has had today, think he was having a bit of a growth spurt last week.

Today i have done 2 things i keep putting off [smug] contact 2 friends. Not that i didn't want to contact them, but more it is "i must phone/text/email ..." but then not getting round to it, then feeling awkward because i have left it so long iyswim?

Better get ready to pick DD up....

JustKeepSwimming · 08/04/2011 16:38

Well done SuperSD - i have a few people that i should contact too, though part of me thinks i may as well wait until baby gets here to pass on the news.

I'm 38+5 today, EDD is next Sun. But stuff feels like it could be starting, or maybe not Confused

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/04/2011 16:49

Afternoon everyone :) Having 15 mins peace and quiet while DH is in the garden with the boys. I managed a whole hour and a half with them both by myself while DH had a sleep (he was up with T a LOT last night) which felt good, but who knows when I might find time to cook any dinner ever Grin

JKS - can't remember whether you said on this thread or the AN thread about Little Dish. DS1 is a fussy little wotsit and turns his nose up at things like that because they don't 'look right' Hmm I can see that he's going to be eating a lot of fish fingers and sausages over the next month or so until we're a bit more in the swing of things!!

Hello Dave - thank you Grin I cannot believe your DS is 8 months! I remember that being a brilliant age with DS1, he was chubby and gorgeous and smiley :)

Sounds like we are all making the most of the sunshine!

DONE
Breakfast and lunch
Car picked up, serviced, MOT'd and returned
Waitrose delivery
Shopping away
Ironing pick up
Wash towels and find clean ones
Afternoon in the garden

TO DO
Change our bedding
Wash sheets
Tidy up downstairs
Hoover downstairs
Dinner
DS1 bath and bed
Clear up
Relax and watch some of the golf
Persuade DS2 to sleep in his hammock Hmm

JustKeepSwimming · 08/04/2011 20:15

Ali - we over-used the Little Dish meals last year when we had a busy time so the boys won't really eat them now.
Fish fingers, sausages, tinned pasta with toast, various potato thingies - got some hash browns by mistake the other day - the boys scoffed them!

MIL phoned earlier, they are 'popping' in tomorrow Hmm they live over 2hrs away but happen to have volunteered to drive their neighbours to Norfolk to collect their new boat, so want to drop in on the way home. She did say to ring & cancel if I'm in labour...
