OFM Flaming dragon yes - only second time ever been - was yummy!! (although was concerned about green prawn crackers and green swiss roll) Xmas Hmm

Had a lovely bath this evening - took my new book and relaxed but fell asleep in there - now trying to scoff the choccies before the inevitable diet starts.

OverflowingMum · 29/12/2010 07:51

MC LOL, yes the prawn crackers come in very odd sizes, and I generally avoid the desert type things as they all look V suspicious...but DC love them LOL

StAnne morning!

Managed to order shopping l;ast night for delivery this evening.
Have decided to make a nice dinner for New Years day - have ordered a Duck LOL

Morning everyone.
DD1 finally getting better after being ill all over Christmas :(
Was getting v stressed at state of the house so blitzed it last night and they now have a pile each of toys, and their new books are in their bedroom.
Much better.
Plan to clean up before new year when we have guests coming.
Hope everyone is ok.

Morning all

Had a lovely day yesterday. GPs had DD so we went to Nando's and Cinema - Was lovely and relaxing.

Felt ill yesterday evening though but better today so all is good.

Today DH is taking DD swimming so I can get on with my uni work - also need to seriously catch up on some washing so just scoffing a sausage sandwich before I begin. Tomorrow is panto and then have booked kids showing cinema tickets for DH and DD for new years day (DH doesn't drink so won't be struggling on NYD) - I'm planning a lie in Xmas Wink

Satin I didn't know about the bookmark idea - I'm gonna try that.

OFM hope you managed your speedy shopping - Enjoy your break at your parents

Right back later

scattyspice · 30/12/2010 16:15

Thanks for the tip satin works well Smile.

To do (this year):
write thank yous done
find somewhere to stash toys done
laundry ongoing
ironing ongoing
optician done
leave the house .done Smile.

Had a nice trip to the beach yesterday (impressive waves!) and been to optician today. I need 3 new pairs of glasses! Distance glasses, reading glasses and reading glasses to wear with contact lenses! Shock. How old do I feel?! Sad.

House slowly returning to normal. Bins emptied this morning but I have filled them up again already!

DC and Dh are getting a bit bored I think. Hmm.

grouchyoscar · 03/01/2011 13:41

I snapped my Fibula near my ankle just before Christmas. Spent 3 days in hospital being pinned and plated and on drips.

The X-Rays look fab, meccano and screws and the break is healing nicely. Stuck in a black pot for another month and mobility is restricted. I clean when DH isn't looking!

OverflowingMum · 03/01/2011 15:50

BBtomorrow Grin

Makingchanges · 03/01/2011 20:32

OFM - Snow White was fab although abit Hmm at seven dwarfs - DD loved it, even though it was almost 3 hours long Shock - and she was picked to go up on stage - made her day and I was soooooo proud.

Off to Doncaster tonight to Dhs cousin to see Aladdin - not sure this one will go down as well as she doesn't know the story. Also worried about how late will get back as its school tomorrow.

Good luck with Nanny tomorrow - she will be fab, the kids will love her and you'll be glad you did it.

swanriver · 04/01/2011 09:08

OFM hope New Nanny day goes well!
I remember ds1 was a bit Hmm of our second helper (he was just 23 months)for first few days, (he had not liked first helper we tried at all)but then he was completely at home with her, so it may take a while for everyone to settle down, don't worry, also to settle oneself down Grinthe most important factor!

We've had a lovely time in Ireland. All our neighbours including my poor parents had burst pipes and no water for days, but we had WATER and HEATING. So it was a miracle. All due to extravagantly putting heating on full blast for two days when we weren't there, which saved ££££s in the long run, whereas all the poor neighbours who went away over xmas and turned heatng off (includng my parents for some reason Hmmfound horrors awaiting them. Frozen water tanks, burst radiators etc. Ireland had a terrible time over xmas.

Have returned unfortunately to London to find heating and hot water broken, so very scuzzy start to school. Ds1 hs gone to school , dd and ds1 come down with bad colds so we are shivering here in front of stove and electric heater.

Don't quite know where to begin with mess and muddle...so babystepping in my thick wooly socks.

Have put a load of washing in.
Ds2 has already knocked over cat food Sad

swanriver · 04/01/2011 09:11

There seem to be several Fly Threads at moment, getting seriously confused.

So I will start with a list on here, and then retreat back to Fledglings if no takers Grin and continue chatting on here if and when..rather than housekeeping Hmm

Get dressed
wipe kitchen table
wipe worktops
remove suitcase from hall
hall rescue
ash from fireplace
ring insurance to check direct debit has gone through Angry
pay in large cheque by post
do ds2's suddenly discovered 4 pages of homework Angry he was meant to do in hols????

swanriver · 04/01/2011 09:15

I seem to be more organisd than I thought as milkman has delivered milk, eggs, butter and bread, and veg box has arrived! So luckily no food shoppign required. Also for some reason there are 4 bags of satsumas secreted in cupboard ( from Dec 18 party???)rather shrivelled but useful nevertheless Grin

swanriver · 04/01/2011 09:16

oh yes empty bin full of old catfood boxes(which is blocking a draught, forgotten about it)
