Arghhhhhh DD has been ill since 3am this morning. Shes now at an annoying stage or whinging and whining.

Today will not go well

Makingchanges · 23/12/2010 11:16

I sound heartless I know - Shes got a temp, cough etc shes not desperately ill but she needs someone to sit with her, don't leave her and do everything for her. I'm too busy

OverflowingMum · 23/12/2010 13:38

afternoon all

MC porr DD, and poor you. Hope shes felling brighter later

satin hope your poorlies are doing OK

swan How's your day going?

Well I have been shopping for last bits for DH ( I ended up braving Meadowhall MC got there at 8.55, wasnt too bad actually. Out by 11.00, by which time it was getting V busy!)
Had good success, got quite a few bargains too...lots of stuff reduced, although also lots of shops already clearing away all the gifts and Christmas stuff...I hate the way they do that ....

DS2 has lost his voice bless him. He seems fine in himself today, but is going round talking in whispers and little squeeks...its so funny, bless him
DD4 still not totally better, but on the mend...

have abandoned diet and have just had cup of tea with puff pastry mince pie...not even sure I can be bothered to go running later Xmas Hmm

have lots of tidying to do, and washing, and still more wrapping Xmas Hmm

BBL Xmas Grin

swanriver · 23/12/2010 14:08

I would so love to be shopping - and not peeling parsnips(hellish shopping centres all is forgiven) but no childcare till tomorrow (which is officially Xmas in our house anyway because Xmas Eve is German Xmas)

Anyway I adult and three kids have had a strenous time dragging back unintentionally enormous xmas tree 2 miles from purchase point. Over ice, which came in handy, as even four of us couldn't carry it properly. Ah well, backbreaking mission fulfilled its purpose which was exercise and fresh air. Dd did push ds2 into road at one stage.

Children seem to be playing quite nicely as a result now, and are looking forward to decorating it!

Makingchanges · 23/12/2010 15:06

Right list update - Doubt it will be motivating

Last load of clothes washing - Done

  • Bedding washed x2
  • Make veg soup
  • Make Chilli for tea - Done
  • Make Banana and Blueberry muffins as bananas have exploded and not going to throw them away - Done
  • Find my lounge floor under decoration boxes and uni paperwork
  • File uni paperwork and sort out books and folders out of the way _doning Just having a mince pie break
  • Clean bathroom and en-suite
  • Toy cull - Seriously in need. DD has watched me put tree up then emptied her toy box out onto floor at side of this so now it looks a mess (after I'd tidied to put the tree up)
  • Try and book / plan some xmas activities to stop bah humbugness that creeps in. - Started Booked a morning of bowling so far
Makingchanges · 23/12/2010 15:11

arghh

  • File uni paperwork and sort out books and folders out of the way doing Just having a mince pie break

DD is deposited on the settee wiht Nick Jr - She is alternating between feeling fine and feeling ill Xmas Hmm so not in the mood for this today.

OFM very brave with Meadowhall - Glad I didn't wait til today or I wouldn't have made it. Sounds like you did well. I had to just go to shops I wanted and out again so no time for bargain hunting - which is probably just as well as really can't afford it

Swan well done on xmas tree trek. I love the idea of a real tree but wouldn't enjoy the tugging and pulling it to get it home. Hope you enjoy decorating it too.

Have been listening to Radio 2 this lunchtime whilst cooking and had messages to the troops on - Really made me cry, all those messages and all those people missing their partners and children - makes you realise how lucky you are sometimes.

Right onwards and upwards

grouchyoscar · 23/12/2010 18:06

Hello FLYers all

This year I have been a truly rubbish and hopeless FLY friend. I have been distracted and tied up by other things

But I'd be truly cack if I neglected to wish all you wonderful ladies a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2011

Deepest love to all Xmas Wink

xxxxx

SatinShoes · 23/12/2010 22:04

Hi Grouchy. Long time no see :)

TeaMonster · 24/12/2010 14:42

Hello all

I too have been a pants flyer this year. I can not cope with the long threads, so bow out. I will be back in the new year, so can we go back to a daily or weekly thread, pretty please.

Anyway Merry Christmas to one and all and if you are ever looking for me I can be found at my new home for the blog www.muminthemadhouse.com

SatinShoes · 24/12/2010 16:31

Hi TeaMonster.
I find the long threads much easier. Have you used the bookmark feature on the last post you read? Then when you sign in it takes you to tha post you last read.

Christmas Eve getting going here. Kids v excited.

wendyhappysmile · 24/12/2010 22:06

I find the long threads easier too, no looking for the thread every day.

OverflowingMum · 26/12/2010 18:27

Oh, TM how sad. Thinking of you all.

evening all

Everyone having a good Christmas??

We have a houseful of overtired and overexhausted dc LOL and the lounge is just covered in toys and stuff in general!!

DD3 was still poorly yesterday and today ...she did manage a bit of Christmas dinner, but was not good bless her.

Other than that they have all had lovely Christmas.
Must try and drag them all out for fresh air tomorrow though I think...
Then have the Panto on Tuesday...

BBtomorrow Xmas Grin

Makingchanges · 26/12/2010 22:02

OFM glad others have got better, hope DD3 gets better soon.

Also have overtired littlie here - grumpy cos shes tired but refuses to go to bed - Had to carry her there in the end.

Also need to get her out tomorrow, too many days inside and playing with toys, Need to sweep away the cobwebs - have booked bowling for Tuesday and Panto for Friday so at least a couple of activities sorted, although unfortunately have to do uni work as well this week.

Be back tomorrow

scattyspice · 27/12/2010 10:45

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas!

tea great to see you. Haven't seen your blog yet but sorry you have sad news.

We had a lovely Christmas though rather chaotic and totally exhausting (way too many guests!!). Dh and I managed to pull it off pretty well though Smile. Looking forward to a few days of just us now Smile.

OverflowingMum · 27/12/2010 15:49

afternoon all

How's everyone doing?

MC bowling sounds a good idea. Hope you enjoy. Are you seeing Peter Pan on Fri?

scatty well done on surviving guests

well, I must admit I am now, as usual itching to get all the decorations down Xmas Hmm
I'm not very good at Christmas I don't think...much prefer Easter... but then I am much more of a spring person Xmas Wink

I have managed to clear piles of presents out of the lounge in to respective DC bedrooms though, and sorted and organised littlies massive toy influx!
And have half returned the dining room to rights, and just blitzed the kitchen Xmas Grin

I have also managed to order quite a few bargains on line (toys mostly LOL) ready to start putting away for Bdays, and DH has just managed to buy large dolls house from Morrisons reduced from £60 to £10 Xmas Grin
Am about to go browsing on-line for new tablecloth for dining room table (something fresh and Spring like!)
Moods not too bad today though...didn't manage fresh air though as it has been raining on and off all day...but at least we'll get out tomorrow .... then I'm working Weds, then down to Mum and Dads overnight on Thurs...
Thankfully though me and the girls are all off next week as well, so will continue restoring order to the house then .... I can feel a good Spring Clean coming on, followed by buying lots of daffodils ......
right...BBLXmas Grin

Makingchanges · 27/12/2010 17:58

Evening all

OFM No Snow White in Rotherham - Could only get back row of Balcony for Peter Pan so DD wouldn't be able to see.

Scatty glad xmas went well

Well I talked DH into going to Meadowhell this morning at 9am when it opened to pick up a reserved item from Argos sale - When we got there cos we had got parked relatively easy managed to get a morning of sale shopping out of him. Him and DD got bargains, I got nothing - they do nothing for my bargain hunting - Escaped by lunchtime when it got too crazy even for me and then drove down to see where my next school placement was so not a very exciting day but a day out of the house never the less.

Have managed a little tidying and washing but still have a large toy mountain here that I gradually getting on my nerves - I just don't know where I'm going to put it [fbear]

Off bowling tomorrow morning then I think I'm going to start putting the house back together again and make a small start on my uni work - Can't have fun all week.

Off to sneak some online shopping - back tomorrow

scattyspice · 28/12/2010 10:34

Morning. Is it Tuesday?

I also have several toy piles in corners all over the house MC I need to buy more storage Hmm.

I am quite enjoying this week (so far). Just pottering Smile.

To do (this year):
write thank yous
find somewhere to stash toys
laundry
ironing
optician
leave the house Hmm.

Makingchanges · 28/12/2010 16:28

Afternoon all

Hope you are all having fun with littlies and relaxing where poss.

I have been bowling this morning with DH, DD and Dsis - Had good fun and won Xmas Grin, then went to chinese buffet and ate way too much. Then left DH and DD at home and walked across to sales at local shopping. So glad I live in walking distance cos cars were abandoned everywhere!!

Bought two pairs of trainers Xmas Blush, two books and some toiletries from body shop - added to me two dvds, dress, cardi and top online last night think I'd better stop now!

Anyway gonna relax for rest of day as I definately think going to have to do something more productive tomorrow

BB later

OverflowingMum · 28/12/2010 17:57

afternoon all

MC yay for Sales shopping! Did you go to The Flying Dragon? We love it there!

scatty You're soudning V chilled - how do you do it? LOL

Well, we have actually had a nice day. Been to the Panto this afternoon which the DC loved! I was a bit worried DS wouldnt sit through it or wouldnt like it, ut he was mesmorised, and sat really well untill the last 10 mins or so...by which point I think he realised he had been sitting still for way too long LOL.Havent been in years due to ££££ (V expensive for 8 of us LOL) but was pleasantly surprised how much we all enjoyed it! And it was V good to get out the house LOL

I am working tomorrow - actually dont mind too much as its only 1 day...
Then off to Mum and Dads on Thurs... have told them we are only staying 1 night, as any more than that is usually V stresful...
I need to organise some packing for that really, but wont need much for 1 night...

now need to go and try to order some groceries...though not sure when for....
and maye plan something nice for the weekend...

BBL Xmas Grin

StAnne · 28/12/2010 18:27
