I am a rubbish FLYer again, lately, but keep checking for the birth announcement.

It will definitely be on this thread somewhere....hopefully near the beginning!

Good luck WendySmile

Never fear...Better feeding lots now than screaming later...LOL (mine always slept for first two weeks then hell broke loose]
if only one could press "pause" on the other children if would be helpful Grin

it's lovely hearing from you Grin

Knackered after school xmas fair. My giant pasta bake was gobbled up Xmas Shock felt absurdly pleased Xmas Grin...and lots of other stuff done there too. Ds disappeared on postbox errand, and was only discovered an hour later at a friend's (he had neglected to ask friend's mum to phone us) I suppose it's nice that he just pops into his friend's house, but a bit unnerving as he's ever just popped anywhere before...

House now in total total grungesville, dh grumpy, and ds2 has been screaming at us for last two hours over the fact that we turned off the Wii and tried watching a family film instead.
No answer except widescreen tellies in every room?

So relieved Fair is over.

Hiya

Had to traispe (!! is that a real word? spelling?) back to hospital for anti D injection - how ridiculous - then they didn't know i was going or some mix up and made a right old fuss.

Midwife came, confirmed bit jaundiced, told me off for not feeding every 3 hours and said I have to set my alarm clock. Baby has sticky eyes now too, another thing to worry about. Feeding still painful, midwife was helpful about it but it was fine whilst she was helping and then I just get stressed about it. I have found breastfeeding difficult every time Sad

Anyway, other two DC at my Mum's overnight, feeling very sillily guilty about it - it's been planned for ages, they are off to see Santa tomorrow and helping her decorate her tree today. Would have been happening anyway but house is very empty.

DH is in bed asleep Shock and I am lolloping wondering what to do with myself!

Just cooking vegetables to feel healthy and get the bowels moving post childbirth!(TMI!!)

Feel all a little bit anti-climatic actually. Sad

BBL

Oh wendy you have taken me right back to DD's early days, all that guilt and stress and sheer exhaustion.
DS1 and dd will be fine at GPs, they are old enough to understand that they haven't been replaced and that you are going to have your hands full.
I hardly took any close up baby photos of DD in the first few weeks as she had her leg in plaster (club foot), a sticky eye, thrush and was very spotty!!
I'd forgotten what a slog breast feeding is too. I second prof lots of cake/chocolate and a daily glass of wine Xmas Smile.

swan well done on school fair success. Glass of wine or two for you too.

We have been to Christmas market Xmas Smile, made paper chains and helped DC write out 47 Christmas cards!!

Glass of wine for me too then Xmas Smile.

wendy - breast milk good for stiky eyes.

swanriver · 04/12/2010 19:55

Ds2 had jaundice, and a bit dehydrated, made me feel sooo overwhelmed, and yes, they made me set the clock to feed him. How very annoying to make you go back to hosp [grr]They know how to make us stressed don't they? [triple grr]

I think the answer is loads of painkillers...[is that pc? if you have a caesarean you are allowed them so why not everyone!) And Guinness too.

scatty that must have been v. upsetting re: plaster cast

oh Dh is cross because I am not watching Merlin Blush

ah wendy, don't feel guilty (hard I know) your dc will be having a whale of a time with gp and seeing santa etc. They wont think they are being pushed out or anything like that.
ds was s;ight;y jaundiced, we had to let him have lots of daylight to help. Poss a bit easier when baby born beginning of oct than dec, but we had the moses basket in the bay window and he slept there during the day.
second eveyone elses advice about breastmilk for sticky eyes both mine had it and breastmilk cleared it up v. quickly
If you like them apricots and prunes v. good for getting things moving along quickly and less hassle to make than veg Smile

I think I am going to break out today and go to the shops. It not looking as icy as it did yesterday so hopefully will make it out. Lots of friends are saying they made it to shops yesterday so I should manage it. Think dc coud do with getting out too. They never made it to their dads yesterday as it was so icy.

Best round them up for breakfast and getting dressed!

Nuttybear · 05/12/2010 10:16

Hi all Day out with girls in Winchester was lovely but as I've been there in the past with DH,DS & friends who are about to divorce, feel very melancholy that we won't be doing the big mad, too many children, wives that want to shop & men that want to got to the pub thing anymore.Sad Friend's love it and I love KING ALFRED'S statue. Great Hall with the round table was closed due to the weather. One for little Arthur to see.
Wendy > Glad I didn't have to repeat the first bit of babyhood and medwives making you feel bad. As I'm a Mother of an only,if...I like my future daughter-in-law I'm going to hire a doula for her. You just need an extra pair of understanding hands to clean and support those first few weeks. Older kids are fine, I always went to stay with my gran and Aunt(who was a kid then) when Brothers & sister were born. I'm still very very close to my Aunt who is only 9 years older than me. We wouldn't have had that unless we spent time together. She isn't as close to the others.
Swan I see you with your feet-up with a mince pie and a well derserved rest and a satisfying smile. Well done you!
Dyls Envy at your willpower to do all that work!
Right must crack on buying the tree later to put up next weekend!
maybe post list if I have time!

Nuttybear · 05/12/2010 10:17

Just saw this [fbear] and had to add it.

swanriver · 05/12/2010 10:36

well, today is a lovely morning for Crisis Cleaning Xmas Grin
it's dh's birthday (48!)and he has taken the kids to church so that I can bake him a cake. Hope to sneak in some cleaning whilst he has gone.

done
stripped our bed
dressed
planned our Xmas party late last night with dh Smile
good night's sleep

Nutty time passes, things change...for the better as well as worse... Dts are doing invaders and settlers at school, so thinking lots about Camelot, Celts, Anglo-saxons at moment all mixed in with a dose of tartan Confused

I cannot for the life of me remember spending any time with my mum when brother 1 was born (I was four and half) although she said I was v. helpful with Dsis when I was 18months Grin Wendy hope last night was not too sleepless, and little Arthur is getting the hang of feeding. I think it takes a while for them to work it out - don't despair however frustrating it seems.

Anyway must do some cleaning - when I first joined Mumsnet in 2008 I did nothing but post on breastfeeding threads, have hopefully got it all out of my system, so I think I should now keep my mouth firmly shut Grin

swanriver · 05/12/2010 10:37

dyls I love your breaking out to go to shops Grin

swanriver · 05/12/2010 12:16

cake made for dh Smile
playroom mini-declutter
kitchen washing up done but otherwise I think I give up Smile

off to do bedrooms now 30 mins left before I have to go

Nuttybear · 05/12/2010 12:52

bravo Swan
Beds made done
breakfast stuff in D/W done
W/M loaded (but I've run out of washing powder) Hmm
Seen new baby next door
! Don't know where the rest of the time went!
Off to buy a tree now

dylsmum1998 · 05/12/2010 19:29

Xmas Grin I got out Xmas Grin

I went to the shops with dc and we got LOOAADSS of christmas presents I only have a couple to buy for now (one being ds Hmm) so very Xmas Grin now.

Back to school tomorrow and having my last (hopefully) observation. I hate when the uni observer comes in. She is lovely but nothing goes to plan! Hopefully she will sign me off so I finish this friday with everyone else, we shall see.I'm doing art tomorrow whilst she is there, we are making christmas decs, lets hope the school have the materials I want to use!

Happy birthday Mr Swan! hoep you got the cake etc done ok swan.

Best go as I need to see what I am teaching the rest of the week and make progress with the plans.

dylsmum1998 · 05/12/2010 19:30

hey when did the Bear arrive I love this [fbear]. Didn't realise I had been away from Mn so long! [fbear] [fbear] [fbear]

swanriver · 05/12/2010 19:57

just avoid glitter at all costs is my advice Dyls small foam shapes rock!
fabulous shopping Xmas Grin you must be very focused - I wander around for hours not being very decisive but loving it!

cake was surprising delicious using victoria sponge with extra orange juice and xmascake spice in it! We have had lots of musical performances for dh, ranging from Moonriver, Ode to Joy (still haven't progressed from last year Hmm to Twinkle on piano, cue massive breakdown from ds2 because we didn't say "Bravo!"(apparently essential response Hmm

Dh and I are trying another screen ban until 17th Dec as kids are getting more and more uncontrollable, and we think they need to relearn that magic thing called PLAY esp at the weekend. All their time at moment is spent fighting over who chooses what at the moment, or crying because they've lost at the Wii Confused At least if they were quarrelling over Monopoly it might be more bearable Xmas Grin

swanriver · 05/12/2010 19:58

Oh and we went out today for a lot of the time, played footie etc so we did get fresh air aplenty but they don't seem very good at being indoors...Sad
Found last year's paperchains Scatty! Knew it was worth keeping them at bottom of toybox!

swanriver · 06/12/2010 10:10

Hope everyone is well,
sorting out my life this morning Xmas Grin
and hopefully//finally watching Eclipse this afternoon - it's out on DVD!

OverflowingMum · 06/12/2010 16:28

afternoon all
back from the frozen outside world
Driving still hazardous to say the least, but managed to deliver DC to school, then get to work. Road down to work an ice rink Xmas Shock and had to abandon car as it slid to a halt in a snow drift at side opf road [fshcok]
Thankfully managed to reservse out at home time and repeat whole performance in reverse!
Now all home safe and warm - well not DH or DS1 yet... have had Hot chocolate and biccies, and now watching Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang Xmas Grin
May contemplate baking with dc in a bit...but all seem quite content for now Xmas Wink
No idea what's for tea...will raid freezer...

dyls yay for lots of Christmas presents

swan sorted your life out yet?

and yes...loving [fbear]Xmas Grin

will BBL Xmas Grin

OverflowingMum · 06/12/2010 16:29

oh...and yes, Glitter is indeed the devil's creation !!
Paper chains good though for non messy entertainment! and strangely entrancing...mine will do them for hours .... must see if I've any left from last year....Xmas Hmm

OverflowingMum · 06/12/2010 16:31

hmmm and NO post again today....had delivery Sunday, first in 4 days...but none today...am waiting for letter about DD3 Statement...due any day now Xmas Hmm

scattyspice · 06/12/2010 16:51

Well done on getting to school/work ofm. Went by bus again today but main roads much better now so will try driving tomorrow.

swan TV ban probably a good idea (but don't think I could cope LOL). Mine are also very hyper (pre christmas hysteria I suspect sigh).

dyl well done on completeing your Christmas shopping. Mine seems endless. Hope today went well.

wendy hope you're doing ok.

Done:
reboot laundry
hoover

To do:
wash up
banking

I have convinced DC to have school dinners for the rest of term Xmas Smile.

OverflowingMum · 06/12/2010 18:06

sigh....DD2 porrly and now being sick...Xmas Sad so have managed one day back at work...tomorrow looking unlikely....why did I ever think I could manage going back to work Xmas Hmm
I SO can't wait for the Spring Xmas Hmm

swanriver · 06/12/2010 19:41

I think it's maybe that we are programmed to like regular patterns (which is what paperchains are) but also like the way we can make random changes to the patterns by altering colour or length of each chain - yes mine love making them too..

sorry about sick dd Sad so frustrating, and poor her too.

Had a productive day sending out invites, cleaning/sorting and playing with the children LOL
cold and misty here, hot choc and telly weather really...

ds2 raged and ranted about no screens, but I think bubble bath and dancing AND Scrabble (he did have tantrum then it's true Blush did the trick. At least they weren't quarrelling and for once they got their homework done (as there was nothing else to do LOL..
oh dd did go to a friend's house, so I suppose the tranquillity of telly free house has not been fully roadtested Xmas Grin

off to Cub pickup now, will combine with cleaning out car..
