But rather than a one a day baby step, we do a two a day one.

I need to get back on top of things, plus I will be on my own for the first time in over 5 years.

Just got in from a night out with friends.
Also been out all day, doing this and that, so house is a s**thole. Washing still on the line...it can stay there till tomorrow now.

Tomorrow is another day.........

OverflowingMum · 16/09/2010 19:11

oh my...there's 3 FLY threads now Confused

waves enthusiatically at TM, then beats a hasty retreat as I'm struggling to keep up with one FLY thread, never mind more than one!Grin

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 17/09/2010 13:24

Please, please keep this going!

I know everyone's busy - but I've noticed that things are beginning to slide in my house without hearing what you've all be doing to inspire and motivate me.

(The laundry monster looks like it's moving back in...)

frazzled74 · 17/09/2010 13:49

hi everyone, I am struggling, will be better when ds3 is at school all day, doing the school run 3 times a day is very off putting. Today though, i have- shopped for weekend meals, washed and dried one load (not put away though),washed and dried up, shined sink, ordered 2 main christmas pressies for ds's. Am just sitting down with mumsnet and a coffee, then in 20 minutes i will put laundry away, tidy bedrooms and have a quick declutter in dcs room, 1 black sack to bin, and 1 box to fill with toys for attic.

KickArseQueen · 17/09/2010 20:39

Hello :)

I can't actually remember what I've done, but upstairs is sorted I even hoovered, downstairs is almost sorted - hoover and wash floors tomorrow, and I'm going to put a film on the telly and do all the ironing tonight. The laundry monster is temporarily stunned. 1 washload hanging up - 1 just finished - 1 to be loaded so I can switch it on 1st thing! and > NOTHING to be put away Grin.

Did shopping yesterday so cupboards all feel nicely stocked up.

Still got to do bedtime routine and really want to just go to bed.

Probably should be drinking coffee not wine!

Will be back tomorrow...

Tomorrow - hoover downstairs + clean floors, hoover car. More washing. Tackle basket of crap!.................................................

MeMudmagnet · 17/09/2010 21:03

Sorry about the blip, must try and get back on track again.

Had a good sort out through the the kitchen/dining room/hall (all one room really) Tomorrow I plan to tackle a few hotspots and throw some more stuff out.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 17/09/2010 23:13

Well, I did tackle the laundry monster - I did two loads of washing, dried them and put away (though there's some lurking in the dining room... which I'l deal with tomorrow - just too tired to deal with now.)

I cleaned kitchen, hoovered and mopped floor.
hoovered hallway
sorted out sitting room and hoovered properly (moved things, didn't just hoover the middle!)

Tomorrow:

Dining room
Stairs
bathroom
Landing
bedrooms

I need to start tackling our room - it's a bit of a dumping ground and I'd like to get it redecorated before the baby arrives. Not sure I'll get the chance this weekend though as it's DS's 2nd birthday, so we're having family over.

But I feel good - 6 bags of clothes given to charity and another for children of friends. Wow, 7 bags of clothes!! Gives you some kind of picture of the state of the washing/laundry in our house. The thing is, I'm pretty sure we could get rid of more...

And I haven't even started on the toys - though that might be better to tackle when the girls are at school/nursery or they'll try to rescue things.

I'm still here. Not done so much today - but a funny weekend with relatives popping in to see the birthday boy.

Hopefully I'll manage enough to keep things ticking over...

Glad you're back tisonlyme!

MeMudmagnet · 18/09/2010 20:03

I'm still here too!

Managed to keep the sink shiny and worktops clear of clutter even if everything else went topot!

I'm wondering if it would help to have weekends off all this clean and tidy malarky Grin

KickArseQueen · 19/09/2010 00:00

I'm still here too, I've had a bit of a mixed day, Upstairs is still shiny and nice so I count that as Me 2 House and kids 0!

However I didn't get to clean the floors which was on my list, and I didn't tackle the basket of crap either BUT I did completely empty the cupboard under the stairs which is suposed to be an airing cupboard, it had become a place to shove things that had nowhere to live, I've rehomed lots of the contents and Shock I've actually got an airer in there in front of the hot water tank and 2 [[http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=4.bp.blogspot.com/_sFZAWMNnJK8/SLfN56E7RlI/AAAAAAAAAW8/8NOX6jC76E0/s320/49460458.jpg&imgrefurl=the-linen-cupboard.blogspot.com/2008/08/drying-clothes.html&h=300&w=300&sz=10&tbnid=1_tkM21opiR5hM:&tbnh=116&tbnw=116&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpeg%2Bhangers&zoom=1&q=peg+hangers&hl=en&usg=__X_tWzhOgdJ_fCZYXqS18w5P4V_4=&sa=X&ei=UkKVTPquLofZ4gbD_OHaBA&ved=0CEMQ9QEwBQ peg racks]

So I can dry stuff in there YAY saving money!!!

I also managed to wash and dry 2 loads and another is now hanging. Oh and DP put up the curtain rail in the dining room so for the 1st time in 9 months I have curtains!!!!

Sadly it is late, my sink is messy and my dishwasher is half full of clean stuff so I'd better go get on.

Glad you're all still about tho I do wonder if Teamonster is ok....

Oh thereisalight I did a toy cull when I was pregs with no4, but I did the girls a deal, pick out their favourite things and any other things which were too babyish for them we would sell and see if we could save up for a trampoline. There were no problems at all they were amazingly ruthless and between a carboot and ebay they made nearly £250.00 :) I got a tidier house and they got a trampoline it was a very good deal :)

tisonlyme, your landlord should feel lucky really. Grin Mine (many moons ago when I was renting) popped in to find me on different occasions..fitting a shower in the bathroom, Adding extra electrical sockets to the lounge and repainting the hallway. I lived there for 4 years and he never put my rent up Grin

He literaly caught me standing on the bath drilling the wall - the look on his face was a picture - I told him he'd better flick the kettle on if he wanted one as I was a bit busy Grin. Amazing what you can get away with when you are a size 8 with dd norks, oh well back to the diet.

I'm having a declutter day today with minimal whizz round to keep it straight. Homework session with dd1, one more wash load to hang 2 to put away. loads of stuff for sale on facebook . oh and I've turned out all ds2's summer clothes and replaced with winter ones, all the summer ones are being given to another mum tomorrow Grin

Catch up properly tomorrow night :)

frazzled74 · 20/09/2010 06:06

am up ridiculously early today! had good weekend. 2 sacks of clothes and 1 of toys from dcs room. Will try to do mine this week but have got 4 night shifts to work so may lose the will.I have a good tip though, every time you empty the rubbish bin, throw 2 or 3 clutter items in it. I have done this all week and the kitchen is looking clearer of bits of plastic tat from poundland and mcdonalds that seem to accumulate in random places.

It's weird - and I don't know if it's just because I know I've sorted and thrown so much, but the house is starting to feel beter, more ordered and less chaotic - or maybe it's that I'm beginning to feel more in control of things and less like I'm treading water.

Well, whatever it is, I'm going to carry on because I like the way a cleaner, tidier, less cluttered house feels.

Today my Mum's going to buy me a slow cooker (apparently they are on offer in ASDA for £7!!) and I thought I could prepare the meal in the morning as I'm sorting out breakfast and it could cook all day - then be ready for dinner time - so there'll be no mad rushing about trying to prepare food and I can use the time to do school work with DD1. Does anyone else have a slow cooker? Any tips/recipe ideas?

It was a fairly hectic weekend as I knew it would be. We had a party for DS who was 2 - so I made a cake and iced it (and DS climbed on the sideboard and ate the smarties, chocolate buttons and icing from the bit he could reach - grrr). We had family over and a nice roast dinner and it was relatively relaxing.

The house looked and smelled nice and didn't take too long to sort out before our guests arrived, though we were still doing bits on Sunday morning (I had hoped that I'd've been more organised and not had to, but that's something to aim for).

I have don't much so far today - I always find it a bit harder to get motivated again after a flurry of activity. Does anyone else find this? Any tips for overcoming it?

Anyway - I'm going to go and stick a load of washing in and give the kitchen the once over.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 20/09/2010 13:05

Sorry - that should read 'I haven't done much so far today...'

Thereisalight, I have a crock pot, My favourite cheat with it it to chuck in Frozen casserole mix(asda), pour in some frozen mixed veg, parsnips, whatever you've got really, and Richmond frozen sausages, Wash some potatoes peel them if you are feeling energentic and chop them into flat round pieces to cover everything up, mix up some very weak gravy and pour over the top. Switch on and leave.

Serve whenever with Bread/ rolls.

There are better recipes but that one is my kids favourite.

I'm not doing anything much, I'm ill and feel like poo! Today i'm just going to potter about. last night I had everything done by 6pm and was in bed by 9.

I feel a repeat coming!
see you all tomorrow!

I did a bit - then fell asleep on the sofa and now I'm wide awake, will go to bed too late again, then be whacked in the morning.

Just for a change.

Marvellous.

Well, I should at least attempt to get to bed before 11.30.

Night.
