It's weird - and I don't know if it's just because I know I've sorted and thrown so much, but the house is starting to feel beter, more ordered and less chaotic - or maybe it's that I'm beginning to feel more in control of things and less like I'm treading water.
Well, whatever it is, I'm going to carry on because I like the way a cleaner, tidier, less cluttered house feels.
Today my Mum's going to buy me a slow cooker (apparently they are on offer in ASDA for £7!!) and I thought I could prepare the meal in the morning as I'm sorting out breakfast and it could cook all day - then be ready for dinner time - so there'll be no mad rushing about trying to prepare food and I can use the time to do school work with DD1. Does anyone else have a slow cooker? Any tips/recipe ideas?
It was a fairly hectic weekend as I knew it would be. We had a party for DS who was 2 - so I made a cake and iced it (and DS climbed on the sideboard and ate the smarties, chocolate buttons and icing from the bit he could reach - grrr). We had family over and a nice roast dinner and it was relatively relaxing.
The house looked and smelled nice and didn't take too long to sort out before our guests arrived, though we were still doing bits on Sunday morning (I had hoped that I'd've been more organised and not had to, but that's something to aim for).
I have don't much so far today - I always find it a bit harder to get motivated again after a flurry of activity. Does anyone else find this? Any tips for overcoming it?
Anyway - I'm going to go and stick a load of washing in and give the kitchen the once over.
