But rather than a one a day baby step, we do a two a day one.

I need to get back on top of things, plus I will be on my own for the first time in over 5 years.

Blush

Tuesday is my worst day. And my cars broken down, :(

So far today I've put the car battery on charge, :) Refitted all the car seats ( they were in dps car from the weekend)

Cleared breakfast things,

Folded and put away 2 washloads of nappies,

sorted other washing into piles, washed 2 loads, I now have 5 still to wash and 5 already upstairs to put away ( big pile!! Blush) and I'm trying not to use the tumble drier!

My to do list is:

Empty dishwasher

put away the washing heap :(

Do lunch for the boys,

Go out,

Buy new battery for car

Do small shop.

pick up girls at 3pm

Casserole in oven

take girls to swimming class

feed everyone, load it in dw

make packed lunch

do 6 waterbottles

sort mail and school letters

clean bathroom once kids in bed.

need to make 2 phone calls too! squeeze that in somewhere!

will have to leave boys room until tomorrow as I don't think I can fit it in today.

I'm not normally quite this gung ho but I need to catch up, If I don't stay on top of it I get buried Blush fast!

KickArseQueen · 07/09/2010 11:12

LOL! no choice really for me - I've got 4 dcs under 6 and my dp works long hours, its either sink or swim, I'm treading water like mad.

My theory is that whatever gets undone in the course of the day needs to be put back before the end of it iyswim? My MIL used to be a professional cleaner, she firmly believes that if its tidy its easy to clean, so thats where I'm trying to get back to, if I can get it tidy I can get the house clean. She's also convinced me to declutter a LOT over the last few years

Soo Today??!!

MeMudmagnet · 07/09/2010 20:24

I'd like to join in please! Even though I'll be a late starter.

Looked up all this flylady stuff after reading about it on here and thought I could do with having a go at this.

I'm self employed and work from home...in a home full of clutter and chaos. I find it really hard to juggle everything. I either spend all day working and the house is a big mess. Or spend all day trying to get on top of the chaos, not achieving much and then all night working.

I've been trying to regain some sort of order since my youngest started school 2 years ago.

So I'm off to clear the kitchen worktops, clear the table and clean my sink......doesn't seem like much Confused

KickArseQueen · 07/09/2010 20:38

no it doesn't but it really is, the more I've been reading through the fly info, the more she sounds like my lovely MIL :)

tisonlyme, your list sounds good. I remember those nightmares, occasionally I still have them and it's been 4 years since I last taught!

My list is
put wash on
tidy living room (I've got a home visit from DD's new school today)
go out and buy something to get rid of MICE (I've booked someone to come in but they can't come until next Thursday)

My hotspot is the top of my piano.

Tonight I will shine sink and write down what I hear - I may come on here to do it.

Enjoy your shiny sinks and tackled hotspots today. Smile

Hello do you mind if i join in?

Im currently writing a list in the mornings for what i want to achieve and score them off as and when.

also decluttered playroom drawers, thrown away a lot of junk, put all stationery in right places

still loads of actual cleaning to do, house is filthy...Blush, all well at least can see floor now

swanriver · 08/09/2010 13:59

My living room is tidy, including the top of my piano. The shop was out of mouse-devices (I live in a terrible area for mice, everyone has them), so I've ordered one online.

Unfortunately, as I had a home visit looming, I didn't tidy the living room properly and there is a big stack of unsorted stuff in my bedroom. Blush

MeMudmagnet · 08/09/2010 20:25

Ok a half successful day....

Managed to more or less keep on top of kitchen surfaces, untill dc's & dh came home and dumped their stuff everywhere.

Brushed the dog (moulting badly!)
Hoovered everywhere but forgot the stairs
Worked for while
Did a few work related errands & a small shop
Walked the dog
Picked up dc's
Homework/reading
Dinner

Tomorrow I plan to tackle the washing piles that need putting away and create some order around my main workspace.

thereisalight, feel free jump in and welcome :)

Well, What have I done today?

I think I'm going to copy tis tomorrow and write my to do list on here, I do so much sometimes in a day I forget just what I have achieved, then all I can see is what I haven't done, which is a very disheartening angle to look at it all from.

Well I did manage to make both the phone calls that I didn't have time for yesterday, and hallelujah! I cleaned the bathroom! And I even hoovered our bedroom! And the entire upstairs to halfway down the stairs! (including all the tops of the door frames window sills, skirting boards and curtain poles)

other than that I did all the routine stuff that I've forgotten within minutes.
off to read the links now :)

KickArseQueen · 09/09/2010 01:04

Right!! Upstairs is now straight bar our bedroom which contain clutter that needs sorting.

Downstairs is now straight bar hotspots hoovering and dusting.

Sooooo, I've written out a routine which I think should keep me at this point and help me move on to the next step. I normally get to this point and then backslide Blush!

Clean up the house before you go to bed. (20 minutes - tops)
Living room: Pick up and put away things, magazines, dishes, clothes, toys, shoes.
Make lunches, wash out water bottles and refill.
Lay breakfast table if poss,
Make sure kids t/brushes are on charge.
Kitchen: Clean it up, shine sink, lay out clean dishcloths, and run the dishwasher.
Defrost tomorrows tea?
Check the hot spots.
Write a to do list for tomorrow.
Lay out clothes for tomorrow.

Get yourself ready for bed.
Brush your teeth, clean your face,

Bath time!
Put on PJ's

Sorry I'm using this thread to put down what I have to do because if its on here I've got to do it!
