But rather than a one a day baby step, we do a two a day one.

I need to get back on top of things, plus I will be on my own for the first time in over 5 years.

Baby is just lovely - he's a hungry boy though and feeds in short bursts (he has a 10 minute feed and passes out, then needs winding, wakes up and feeds again like he's starving - and he'll do this 3 or 4 times until he's had enough!)

He's had his eyes open a lot for the last couple of days. He doesn't actually look like anyone we know or are related to. It's very peculiar. Still, he's changing all the time.

I think reswabbing is definitely something that needs doing. Have they done blood tests too?

So far I've sorted the washing - just have to put it away now.

Also - sorted out 'shoe mountain' by the door and cleared out (with DH's help) the shoes and rubbish in our wardrobe, yesterday.

And my resolution is not to talk about what I'm going to do, but only post about what I've done. I think that'll help me see what I've achieved rather than produce a daunting list.

KickArseQueen · 18/01/2011 23:55

Arghh!!! I don't know what to do! This throat thing is really low level now. The spacing between the flare ups is bigger and when it does flare up its really minor compared to before. Should I go back to the gp? I did have a thought, could it be something stupid like thrush? I know children get it in their mouths, did they find no bacteria because its fungal???? I've had blood tests done which all came back negative, I know they tested for leukemia, but I don't know what else they tested for.
I'm driving myself mad with this now. I have got to get as healthy as possible asap.

House wise I just need to stun the washing monster tomorrow and change the beds.Otherwise I'm doing fairly well at the mo, its not perfect, but I can live with it at this level iykwim?

My friend who had her baby at xmas handed him over today and I got to give him a snuggle, he is gorgeous, looking down at him I was trying to figure out where the last few years have gone, its whizzed by so fast. :( I'd like to rewind and do it all again.
No4 awake got to go.

x

MeMudmagnet · 19/01/2011 13:24

On a positive note, it does seem as though your health is improving slowing KAQ. I'd be inclined to go back to the gp if you think it could be fungal, as if it is, it'll be very easy to treat.
Thereis - you sound to be doing well. And enjoying baby, which is lovely Smile

Dyson was fixed today! So it's probably about to choke to death when I use it in a minute. I haven't hoovered for over a week Blush
I seem to be roughly keeping on top of things here, although no decluttering tackled yet.

KickArseQueen · 19/01/2011 13:59

Hi Medmud, I think thats why i'm so torn about going back, I'm definatley improving, so I keep thinking I should just leave it. Either that or I'm tempted to go see the pharmacist and get some fluconazole, hmm actually I think I might try that 1st.

Sorry to bang on about it, Blush

I still need to do beds and washing away and I only have until 3pm so best I get offline!

Good luck with your hoovering memud!

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 19/01/2011 23:19

Hi KAQ and MeMudmagnet

I'm feeling quite pleased with myself today. It was DH's last day off (he's been off for nearly a month with annual leave and paternity leave) so tomorrow's not going to be nice - but we had quite a god pottering/cleaning session today (we had to take it in turns to put baby in the sling and do chores as he likes to be held a lot still).

But the lounge has been dusted from top to bottom and everything is CLEAN. I still need to tidy/declutter the shelves though.

But I have also:

got everyone's clothes ready for tomorrow (including DD1's clothes for after school - she's going to her friend's house)
laid the breakfast table
packed lunch boxes

I must remember to put the double buggy in the car though, otherwise the school run will be tricky.

Have you looked at the symptoms for a Candida infection? It does sound like it's improving - and I know it must be frustrating that it feels like it's taking so long, but it probably took a long time for you to get so poorly, it's going to take a while to get back to how you were. But I think it defiitely sounds as if you're doing all the right things.

Did your hoover survive, MeMudmagnet? I'm not a hoover-er - DH does it mostly and it makes me laugh that whenever DS sees the hoover - he points to it and says, 'Daddy's hoover'. I like to think of it as my part in challenging gender stereotypes!! Grin.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 23/01/2011 20:42

Swooped on DDs' bookcase and cleared 2 big bagsful of books to give away today.

Toys tomorrow...

Hope you're both well.

KickArseQueen · 23/01/2011 23:44

Hi Thereis,

I managed to help dd1 blitz her room today while dp was fishing Hmm Her room looked lovely.... Went into the boys room and they had trashed it! :( put that right went into dd2's room... Yep you guessed it! I have straightened the boys room, cleared the floor of dd2's but I think they remain my priority!!!!

My plan is to try to keep on top of all the rooms and improve them one at a time iyswim?

I went to the out of hours on Saturday in desperation, they told me it didn't look like thrush and then prescribed Nystatin anyway Hmm They said I need to give it until thursday, if its not improved by then, then I need to see the GP and get an ENT referral as its been going on for too long.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, i can swallow without pain!!!

Grin
thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 23/01/2011 23:51

The out of hours doctors on Bowthorpe Road? Isn't that the creepiest place?

I'm glad they gave you something even if it doesn't work - it's another thing that's ruled out and it's another opinion from another doctor that it isn't alright and that something needs to be done.

Keeping on top of rooms and improving them one at a time sounds like it could be achievable. Something I feel I could set as a goal, too.

Right - off to bed. Sleep well, KAQ!

KickArseQueen · 25/01/2011 22:30

Very creepy!!! especially at night when you have a tiny one with you! I have to admit I always parked on the yellow lines near the entrance when going there at night with a very small one! Inadequate lighting is an understatement!! ( sore throat hasn't come back!! no swollen tonsils!!! just in case I jinx something!!)

I had a bit of a housework set back - ended up with a 10 washload clean washing monster! Blush Its now separated and piled in the correct rooms, tomorrow I will put it all away!!! That and keeping on top of the dishwasher and changing dd2s bed are my only housework goals for tomorrow. ( i've changed all the others already.)

I have a huge paranoia that there is mould growing in the top cupboard of our built in wardrobe, I found some in the main wardrobe section, and its going to be a nightmare to pull everything out! I'm saving it for Thursday! The longer I leave it the more damage it could do so I need to empty the whole thing out, but its a stepladder job I really don't want to do it while the boys are trying to climb up behind me, not my idea of fun!

Right I'm off to do lunches for tomorrow and put myself to bed!

I need to catch some zeds!!!!

MeMudmagnet · 25/01/2011 23:41

Fingers crossed you're getting somewhere with your throat then KAQ Smile
Your wardrobe sounds like a nightmare! Hope nothing's damaged.

We were out all weekend so I now have a bit of a washing backlog myself and there's still 2 boxes of xmas decorations in the queue for the attic.

On a plus. I've seem to be having some success in getting organised on the work front. But, as all my energises are focussed on that, I'm only treading water on the home front!!!! Ahhhhhhh!! Round in circles again....

KickArseQueen · 31/01/2011 00:16

You know what they say Memud! You can't be all things to all people all the time :)

Chaos, madness and the unexpected seems to be happening here. I haven't even LOOKED in the cupboard to see how bad the mould is! I had forgotten until this moment that dps suit was even at the dry cleaners!

I did my full course of anti thrush throat stuff and my sore throat went away within 24 hrs of taking the stuff!!! the day after I stopped taking it I got a stuffed up head, runny nose temperature and.... a sore throat! I don't have time to be ill. I'm on the radio tomorrow and I've got that husky voice thing going on!

Most of the house is passable, but I have a stage 8 washing monster upstairs and dd2's bedroom is awful! Tomorrow is going to be mad.

I should be in bed. Night both!
xx

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 31/01/2011 14:54

Right then, there might be a link between your throat and the mould. Is that cupboard in your bedroom?

I've a theory about our mould too - I did tell you about the weird lady who lived here before, didn't I?, who sort of sealed everything so it's very condensation-y and we go through periods of thrush (all of us getting it) and bad chests. Could be worth investigating?

and why are you on the radio? And which radio station? And what for? and will you talk to us again once you are famous?? On the plus side, you might sound like Mariella Frostrup... Grin.

MeMudmagnet · 01/02/2011 10:06

You might have to go with the husky voice Smile ....and yes, what radio station? What for?.....you can't keep us dangling like that!!!!

I'd agree with the mould in the cupboard theory. You've got to make that your priority when you've finished swanning about on the radio Wink

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 01/02/2011 23:27

Do you think KAQ's forgotten about us now she has showbiz friends?

MeMudmagnet · 02/02/2011 13:25

No doubt she has a cleaner now...and a nanny...and spends her days eating lettuce with Madonna....

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 02/02/2011 15:56

Grin but inside I am Envy.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 02/02/2011 15:57

Envy for the cleaner and the nanny, not too bothered about lettuce and Madonna.

KickArseQueen · 03/02/2011 02:35

HaHa!!!! More like cramming biscuits whilst constantly fielding the facebook page I've had to set up. OMG!!!! THE SUIT!!!!!! I must get it back tomorrow! Well I did go on the radio, and then for reasons I won't say on here life became really chaotic. I'll send both of you a link if you are good!!!! and promise!!!! Never to out me on here for who I am. OR!! out me in RL as being kickarsequeen I don't want any ties between the 2!! I'm not anyone special, I just really like my privacy on MN... I've been getting stopped in the street since monday by random people that I've never met before...Shock

So.... Promise????

( pmsl @ lettuce and madonna Grin)

Oh and the cleaner really ought to do something about that washing monster, its almost bigger than the bed!!! Blush and double Blush I still haven't looked in the cuipboard.

Oh and sore throat is gone!!!!

Night x

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 03/02/2011 12:28

Hooray for vanishing sore throat!!! That's got to be the best bit of all, surely.

Crikey KAQ, I have to say I'm certainly intrigued, but only tell us if you want to - don't feel under any obligation to divulge.

I would never deliberately (and I hope never accidentally, either) out you either here or on MN, but it's your decision.

Yeah - I'm going to sack my cleaner, too!

XXXXX

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 03/02/2011 12:28

Obviously I meant here or RL.

MeMudmagnet · 03/02/2011 13:03

I promise not to out either of you!

I'm intrigued and a bit confused...about being stopped in the street after being on the radio??
But also, how would you send us a link, without also sending it to the whole of MN?

The sore throat is gone Shock does that mean you're finally feeling better?

MeMudmagnet · 03/02/2011 13:14

Sorry, cancel that last bit, just noticed the 'message poster' link on the right...

..blimey I really am slow!!!

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 03/02/2011 14:04

Not as slow as me - I didn't notice that bit at all!!

KickArseQueen · 08/02/2011 01:03

Hi you 2!!! I didn't mean to kill this thread!! I pulled out some of the stuff from the wardrobe today and there is mould! It only seems to have touched one thing so far! need to empty the rest of the cupboard.

Been getting very behind here. Everything seems to be happening at once. Hows your Babe Thereis? Every time I pick up my friends baby I find myself thinking another 4 wouldn't be so bad!! Blush

nearly got everything ready for the morning!....

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 09/02/2011 12:38

Hi KAQ

Sorry - we've all been struck down with a nasty bug doing the rounds at DD1's school. DD2 got it, then DH, then baby then me. Yuck. But feeling a bit more 'normal' now.

Baby is doing well, he's feeding well and still getting chunky. He still likes being held though - which is a it limiting.

I can't believe you're getting broody, KAQ!! I really don't think I will this time. Well, it's too bad if I do - not a chance that DH will change his mind. And anyway, I'm getting on a bit now Grin - I think more would be risky.

Hmm - mould is a bad thing. I wonder if there's a link with your throat? Is it behaving still? (your throat, that is).

I seriously need a kick up the backside. It's DD2's birthday on Saturday and we're doing her a party, but with this bug, I'm SO far behind.

And the house? Don't mention the house.
