But rather than a one a day baby step, we do a two a day one.

I need to get back on top of things, plus I will be on my own for the first time in over 5 years.

OP posts:

£25.00 is great - much better than if you'd just given it to a charity shop. Definitely worth the extra effort I think. I must organise myself and try to do it.

Are you feeling a bit better KAQ? I hope the anti-biotics have worked - though someitmes if things get really bad and you've been really run down, a second lot does it.

How are you MeMudmagnet? Have you managed to get back on top of your house?

Not much done this weekend - well, not much extra - just the usual.

So I have a plan for tomorrow:

bathroom
kitchen
attack bedroom (this never seems to happen, but I have to try this week as my mum's coming and we're going to start to decorate it.)

Right - off to bed. Night night.

KickArseQueen · 28/11/2010 23:33

I'm feeling mostly better, I think the gps recoil action after he saw my throat made him decide to nuke it, I started my anti b's last monday and i'm only half way through! I think I've only ever been given 5 days worth tops before hopefully by the time they are finished I will be fine - if my guts can hold out that long!!

I slayed the monster on saturday and its now back!! Tomorrow I'm going to be out most of the day so I will get done what I can.

Must get tomorrows tea out of the freezer!

Today I've ironed, shopped, tidied and done much washing! can't tell tho!

Your list for 2morrow looks good thereis! What colour are you going for?

Night folks :)

MeMudmagnet · 29/11/2010 23:29

I hadn't posted for so long, I lost the thread!
Had a busy weekend, what with one thing and another and today was a sort of catch up day.

Out all morning on PTA errands, then tidied kitchen/dining room/hall, did a couple of wash loads and caught up with emails.

DD2 had school dinner booked today (you book them in advance) but I forgot and made her a packed lunch Angry because I didn't check my diary. When will I learn to to do that??

Glad to hear you're feeling better KAQ

I wnt to have a good sort out tomorrow. this chaos can't continue!

KickArseQueen · 30/11/2010 01:27

I've lost a couple of threads recently memud, click a "watch" on this thread and then it will be listed in you "I'm Watching" section for ages - I've got some in there that are a couple of years old.

I'm going to have a monster slay day tommorrow!!! and try to get back on track!

Heres my list

Stew in crockpot!!!
parcel up ebay stuff
Slay Washing
Clean Bathroom
Brum Cars with boys / playdoh ( yes I'm going to schedule it!!!)
Empty dishwasher
tidy lounge.

If I can do that I will be 90% back on track.....

fingers crossed!

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 01/12/2010 16:58

I am here - but broadband is down (& landline - not that that's making me at all twitchy!!) so I might not be on MN properly until it's sorted (Saturday at the earliest, apparently). Still as I can't get on MN, I might actually do a few more chores!!

Hope all's well with you both.

MeMudmagnet · 01/12/2010 17:09

Yipeee we've got snow!!

Although poor DH took 5 hours to get home from work last night! DD1's school is closed today, but dd2's is open Sad
However just been told it's shut tomorrow.

I love the snow when everyone's near home and safe. But not when the family is scattered all over the place.

THEREIS - That must be a bit unsettling in your position! I assume you have a mobile reception for emergencies?

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 01/12/2010 17:33

Yes - have mobile for now!! Does you Dh commute from London? Friend of mine who lives in Brighton said it took her 4 hours to get back on the train. They're messed up again today, aren't they? I don't miss commuting on the south coast!!

MeMudmagnet · 01/12/2010 17:53

Yes, he's in London. He didn't attempt to go in today, he worked from home. Just as well really, the trains weren't getting any further than Haywards Heath!
He ended up getting a taxi back from the station last night, so his car is still there, 10 miles away.

Not sure how long this weather's meant to go on for? Every forecast I read is different!

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 02/12/2010 20:56

No I'm not sure how long it's going to go on for. I gather from FB status updates of friends in and around Brighton, that you've got it pretty badly down there now.

It's bitterly cold here - though the 'big' snow has stopped now at least.

Oh - and my phone's working again - hooray!

KAQ - are you freezing too?

KickArseQueen · 02/12/2010 22:25

Too Right!!! I've sacrificed a few pillows and shoved them up the chimneys!!! Grin

It's bitterly cold out there, I expecting a deluge of snow any time! We've only had minor snow showers again today, but it feelslike theres lots coming!

DP's boss sent him home early today, its a 50 mile journey where he works they had very thick snow its been taking him 2 hours to get home and he's not back in now till monday!

I've slayed the washing monster!!! Its all put away! I have 1 load on the rads and 1 about to go in the td, because I can't be faffed to hang Xmas Blush.

Managed to buy all my sisters childrens presents today which is fab because they are visiting at the weekend! Saves me a delivery job if I can get them wrapped in time!

Hope you are all ok :)

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 03/12/2010 16:47

I know it's way off topic - but I've been for a scan today (sizing and positioning) and he's already over 7lbs (likely to be 10lbs -ish by due date - yikes) AND still breech!!

So if you two want your floors scrubbed, just ask!

MeMudmagnet · 03/12/2010 17:46

Aren't you supposed to get on all fours with your bum up high?
I used to try and watch tv in the evenings in that position with dd2. She turned lateish and was born 3 weeks early, very quickly at 9lb 6oz.

Maybe you could get a temporary job with a carpet fitter Wink

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 03/12/2010 18:28

I don't think I've got the knees for carpet fitting!! But yes - now my heartburn's under control - I can assume that position quite happily.

9lb 6oz - I don't feel so bad now. I could do 3 weeks early - that would be next week - hmmmm... that could work out quite nicely.

MeMudmagnet · 03/12/2010 19:36

Oh God, heartburn! I'd forgotten about the heartburn!!
Were your other dc's early, late or on timeish?
Maybe time to start on the curry, fresh pineapple and erm....other ways of getting thing going? Wink

KickArseQueen · 04/12/2010 13:02

I turned number 2,3and4 in the bath Xmas Grin. You need to get the baby into the soft of your belly rather than being stuck in your hips iyswim? so, Handstands in the swimming pool have worked for lots of people I hate swimming when I'm pregnant so I lay n my front in a very deep bath for a couple of hours, swish side to side and relax, the baby's have all done lots of gentle wriggles when I'm in this position, they seemed to find it comfortable. Then as they move I just give them gentle little nudges in the right direction, they then do a sudden big flip and they have all turned.

I'm not necessarily reccomending anyone else try it, but it worked for me. The hospital way of manipulating a baby round it to push and shove them effectivley and has risks attached, with mine I just slowly guide them to swim round by themselves. My midwives have all been v approving of my method, but obviously there could be risks attached too.

Maybe a swim / floaty bath and see if once he's out of the pelvic girdle he will turn himself?? Glad you got the heartburn sorted!!

I'm back on the antibiotics again. The last course didn't completely sort the tonsilitus and its back :(

Washing monsters growing a bit...

Hope you are all ok

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 04/12/2010 19:05

DD1 was 3 days early, DD2 was 9 days overdue and I went into labour the day DS was due but he was born in the early hours of the next day - so one of each, I'd say! As for other ways of gettingthings going - I'm not sure I feel at my loveliest - I feel like the back end of a bus!!

Not sure if I'd dare try nudging this one into position - only because I don't feel confident enough to know what parts of his body the lumps correspond to. But having read on a thread on about someone having an ECV, I'm a bit nervous about having one next week.

Housework has been something that I've ignored for a few days - out doing Christmas shopping/chores on Thursday, rushing around for scans on Friday, and out with a friend today (and tomorrow) doing a printing workshop with a local artist. Luckily, DH is an absolute star and has done loads (how does he manage to do it with the kids around?). He's ignored the laundry (clean and dirty) but I forgive him as he's done so much.

Glad you've got another course of anti-biotics, KAQ - sounds like you've been really run-down for such a long time that it's going to need proper medicine to shift it. Don't forget to eat live yoghurt though.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 06/12/2010 18:36

Hope you 2 are well. Is very cold here - but the snow is going. Slowly.

MeMudmagnet · 06/12/2010 19:18

All our snow disappeared on Friday night Sad
How are you two getting on with this housework business? I've gone completely off track routine wise, but I seem to be sort of keeping up with the washing and the house doesn't look too bad...

Everything goes a bit mad this time of year though doesn't it. I've been busy with PTA stuff the last couple of weeks. Work is very on and off atm. One minute I have loads of work, then it all goes pearshaped, what with snow and xmas things.
I'm not quite sure what's happening from one day to the next. So building/keeping a routine is fairly hopeless.
It's dd2's nativity tomorrow, so not much going to get done till after lunch.

Are you feeling any better yet, KAQ? I can't believe how long you've been ill!! It can't do much for your state of mind either.

THEREIS - Have you got that baby shifted yet? How was the printing workshop? That sounded fun.

KickArseQueen · 08/12/2010 00:52

Hi You 2 :)

Thereis, you'll be fine, just remember that it is your body and they need to go at your pace. Say stop any time you want to.In my last pregnancy all the midwives swore ds2 was still breech even when I was in labour, no, he just had an enormous bottom!! Never seen a bottom that big on a baby, nor had the midwife! ( he must take after his mum poor boy!) Before they do anything they will scan, and he could easily turn while you are asleep and you wouldn't have even known he had done it. Try to remember too that millions of babys have come into the world breech and no harm done! I put a doc at the N&N on the spot and they admitted that lots of still breech babies turn once labour is established and agreed that I could still have a natural labour if the baby was breech, they would just keep a close eye on us both. I would have replied sooner, but I've been elsewhere and hadn't seen your post.

I'm about half way through my second set of antib's I'm just waiting to see if whether they kill me or the tonsilitus 1st! DS2 isn't impressed either, They go through to him in the milk and it upsets his sleep :(
Wierdly if I eat anything containing chocolate or milk I feel v sick! I'm usually one of those annoyingly chirpy people in real life - you know the one at the school gates that says " never mind!! the sun is still shining above the clouds!!" followed by a manic Grin

Well I'm a bit bah humbug Xmas Sad.

Feels a bit like everything is happening in too short a space of time.

I need to sort the rest of the xmas prezzies,
Contact my house insurance and my car insurance because of renewal,Doctors appt for ds1, Hair appt needed for dd1 ( has been growing her almost elbow length hair for about a year, now wants it ear length!!! It does take ages to dry after a bath!) Need to help out with stuff at the xmas plays on thursday ( raffle etc.) I'm having a PTA stress atm Memud! I haven't been doing it that long, no-one seems to want to help! I'm starting to think i've bitten off more than I can chew!

House is looking ok, (small washing monster in my bedroom Blush and I need to spend an evening with 4 of my washing baskets getting all the kids upstairs toys back where they belong ) A few hours child free and it could be absolutely fine - not sure when I'll get that opportunity!But...Thinking about it I've had my friends dc loads lately.. She can handle ds1...ds2 is a breeze.. I might ask her for a favour....

MeMudmagnet · 09/12/2010 18:53

Hi you two............ are you still there?
We've all quiet lately haven't we. But I think we will all feel a need to get on track soon, especially after xmas.

My house is a tip, haven't hoovered for a week, my bedroom is cluttered with xmas presents and PTA bazaar crap.

I'm sort of keeping up with the washing and almost keep the clutter in the kitchen under control, but I need a spare day to get straight!

How are you both?

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 10/12/2010 17:43

I've had my ECV - & he's head down. Fingers crossed he stays that way.

Been a bit mad - haven't been in the house much for the last few days, but long enough to mess it up. Really have to get back on track. Need a plan (a realistic one). Will have a think and post again later.

How are you two doing?

KickArseQueen · 10/12/2010 20:52

Thats Fantastic thereis!! Here be washing monsters galore, ironing demons in spades, and carpets that need scrubbing! Just to add insult to injury! I have been back to the gp today, I've nearly finished the 2nd lot of anti b's and my throat is still red lumpy and sore!??? why?? I've now been swabbed to check for specific bacteria and had a blood test for glandular fever! >

I think you are right memud! I've just got so much happening here between xmas stuff, pta stuff, ebay, juggling bank accounts.... I'm just doing my best to keep the mess down and stick to a few basic routines to keep things from getting out of hand.

After christmas I am going to get properly back on track!

MeMudmagnet · 10/12/2010 22:12

Oh KickArse! Glandular fever would explain why you've been ill for so long?!! If it is, at least you'd know why it's taking so long to shift.

I've given up on decluttering and routine building. I'm just trying to keep everything vaguely under control.

I'm so glad to hear baby is heading in the right direction THEREIS!

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 11/12/2010 00:17

Sorry to hear that you're still feeling rough, KAQ, but glad you've been swabbed. I hope there's a proper diagnosis soon so that there's proper treatment.

Yep - routine's definitely gone. How can you keep one up with so much going on? I've been to 2 nativities, we've got Christmas parties, DD1's ill too and been off - DD2 is coming down with it - she's really grizzly - & DH has man 'flu!!

My friend said baby is typical male - no way he was going to ask for directions!! I think he was being awkward because he doesn't have a name yet (the others did by now).

Anyway - tomorrow's another day. Night night x

KickArseQueen · 11/12/2010 00:53

:( Bugger! It would explain it wouldn't it! Gp said its very uncommon in women "my age" Hmm and that he would of expected me to have had it in my teens as its transferred by kissing. So I said that probably meant I was less of a slapper in my teens than he imagined Grin couldn't resist Blush Did make the nurse laugh tho!

He was kind of spluttering that he certainly had thought no such thing. Oh dear I really should keep my mouth shut, but I was joking!

Thereis, there is waaay too much going on! I'm just treading water atm, BUT thinking about it, I'm still in a better place than I would have been!
