Where does everyone keep wet towels.
changed the radiator in the bathroom so it’s no longer going to look like Dunelm with 4 massive bath sheets on it.
We don’t have an airing cupboard.

I don’t really want them dumped in bedrooms.
what’s the solution. A rail? A rack? Some hooks?

This, who uses a towel more than once?

Quite a lot of people. See the eleventy billion other threads on this subject.

Why fighting talk. You don’t want to dry yourself with a dirty towel.

It’s a joke, clearly not a funny one. It was referencing the eleventy billion previous threads about this topic on MN and also warning the poster about the legions of environmental vandal comments that were due to follow. The thread played out as predicted.

Hooks on the backs of doors. Easy to keep tabs on which towel belongs to which person. We also have a towel heater, hooks on the back of the bathroom doors and a hook in one of the showers. But we also have a hot tub so everyone (including visitors) has a hot tub towels and a shower towel... Hence the backs of doors hooks come in very handy!

They need drying, not washing.

Most skin bacteria are beneficial. It doesn't actually help to remove them.

Guidance is to wash towels every 3-4 days. In 50 years I've never done them that often and never had a skin infection between my OH and I. My towels get washed if I can smell them.

If you can smell them they are way past needing a wash.

Just on a hook each in the bathroom. They are dry before the next bath/shower the next day

Are you very very new to MN? You must be, towel threads are the backbone of the site! 🤣🤣

I don’t use a towel. I have a towelling robe that I put on straight from the shower, then wear it to do the rest of my ablutions. I am dry by then and the slightly damp robe goes on a hook on the back of the bathroom door. Much better than big, cumbersome towels

Isn’t it difficult to dry the important little places properly?

Davros · 09/06/2026 17:50

Drip dry, it’s no problem. I don’t feel the need to be rubbed 😆

Normal people who don't believe in wasting water and electric and care about the planet!

In a great heap on the bathroom floor, for some people I know!
