Where do you put wet towels

Where does everyone keep wet towels.
changed the radiator in the bathroom so it’s no longer going to look like Dunelm with 4 massive bath sheets on it.
We don’t have an airing cupboard.

I don’t really want them dumped in bedrooms.
what’s the solution. A rail? A rack? Some hooks?

Are you all coal miners?

Or germ phobic?
Or someone who doesn't own a towel rail?

We don't have a towel rail so hang them over the bannister above the stairs. It's really the only place appropriate.

Wet towels constantly hung onthe bannister surely damages the paintwork eventually.

A freestanding towel rail is a better option than draping them on radiators or bannisters

Same. I hate having wet towels hanging around the house.

But it’s so unnecessary. We wash towels once a week . It’s enough unless you have dirty jobs and have to shower frequently.

Mine goes over my en-suite door to dry off

Eventually they will damage your door!

Been fine on my doors for the last 15 years - zero damage here!

In the tumble dryer.

Only if you have somewhere to place one....

caringcarer · Today 19:59

Oh you mean after they have been used once. On heated towel rail in bathroom.

Laiste · Today 19:59

Me: hung flat over the landing banister or over the bedroom radiator if it's on.

DD in her 20s: a little free standing towel rail in her room.

DH: over one of the flipping wardrobe doors 🙄

DD (12): chucked on her bloody bed even though i've asked her 1,000,000 times not to 😡

I agree. We previously lived in a flat and I used to hang clothes over the doors and all around. The doors eventually warped and I was told the moisture was the cause! Luckily we own the flat.😬

YenSon · Today 20:07

My sons leave them on their bedroom floor.husband not much better.
i hang mine back up in the bathroom or very the bannister.

maddiemookins16mum · Today 20:08

I dry them outside if my shed roof is dry, even in the winter. On wet days I use a trouser hanger (the ones with the tabs you can open) and hook on a door frame for a few hours.

I hope you don’t pick them up !

Swissmeringue · Today 20:11

Heated towel rail in the bathroom, or the hooks on the back of the bathroom door if there's no space on the towel rail. Or artfully spread across her bedroom floor for DD ......

Are you my teenage daughter ? 😂

I was going to say the same!

Edited as pressed post too soon.

We have 2 huge heated towel rails with very high BTU’s (a lot of research went into this when designing my bathrooms) that dry towels very quickly.

VenusClapTrap · Today 20:37

Folded neatly in half lengthways on heated towel rails. Well except for DS. I’ve managed to get him to hang it, but it’s more screwed up ball perched on the rung than folded. I will not give up. He will not move out of this house unable to hang a towel properly if it kills me.

stample · Today 20:44

Over the banister until they’re dry then they go on the hooks on back of bathroom door

Lumenade · Today 20:56

Over the doors, bannister or hook in bathroom

Having children, driving a car, going on long-haul holidays, eating meat are all awful for the environment. I don't do any of those things so using a towel once and putting in the laundry basket until I have a full load is hardly the worst thing.

So you must have a full load within a few days consisting mainly of clean towels? I assume you wash daily and wash hands etc so you must use1/2 towels per day?
