someone likes black and white!
When viewers go and look, they’ll have to remember they’re only buying the house and not the contents!

LynetteScavo · 28/10/2025 18:54

I secretly love anyone with a glitter ball in their kitchen.

DrCoconut · 28/10/2025 18:54

Not to my taste but I prefer it to a soulless grey and beige box.

JudgeJ · 28/10/2025 18:55

QueSeraSeraaaaa · 28/10/2025 14:45

Wow! 😮 I’m just thinking how much dust all these things would collect.

I used to laugh at my mother for saying things like that and now I find myself thinking the same thing! Those houses with massive floor to ceiling windows, my first thought is They'll be a sod to clean!

Dogaredabomb · 28/10/2025 18:57

It's immaculate 🤷🏼‍♂️

JudgeJ · 28/10/2025 18:58

lifeonmars100 · 28/10/2025 15:18

makes the current decor in the Oval Office look minimalistic

But just wait for the $250m ballroom which I initially read as bathroom.

KindnessIsKey123 · 28/10/2025 18:58

They should air bnb it is bloody love 24 hours in that house!

PreciousTatas · 28/10/2025 19:00

I do think the decor is off putting, like most very strong personal tastes. It usually isn't a problem as most people depersonalize their house before a sale.

It also does signal to buyers that the neighbourhood is probably quite rough (speaking as someone in a similarly rough location). The decor is stereotypically traveller (whether the owner is or not won't really matter).

Hardhats · 28/10/2025 19:00

I wanted to call this maximalism but it’s not, even maximalist design has structure and cohesion (and accessible hallways!)

It’s just hoarding.

These images are a good visual of what it’s like when someone styles their house in a period that doesn’t suit the property itself.

Hardhats · 28/10/2025 19:00

However, ugly decor aside that house price is remarkably cheap. You guys up north have it nice.

DBD1975 · 28/10/2025 16:44

Just imagine if you were the house owner and you saw this on Mumsnet, I would be mortified!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Or think 'Great, more publicity for my house'. I'd actually like the stepped black and white tiling in the bathroom, once all the other stuff's removed.

Strawberryfields4ever · 28/10/2025 19:00

I actually like it

oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends · 28/10/2025 19:01

There's an indoor toilet.

purple590 · 28/10/2025 19:03

Tell me you want to be a WAG without telling me you want to be a WAG.

DoYouReally · 28/10/2025 19:04

It's not my taste but fair play to whoever furnished it.

They have a style, embraced it and it's continous through the house.

If that's your taste/style, it's actually very well done.

Hardhats · 28/10/2025 19:04

Also, I’m guessing the bar stools blocking the hallway is supposed to be a bar set up? Seems off to have a designated alcohol destination at your front door.

Whatthebarnacles · 28/10/2025 19:04

I'm in awe of the spare toilet seat on the bathroom windowsills (joke - I know it's the window design but I wouldn't have been surprised if there were spares 🤣)

DontbesorrybeGiles · 28/10/2025 19:05

I respect the estate agent for not trying to make out that it’s a nice looking house c

I agree, given the property was listed 2 months ago and hasn’t moved forward, it doesn’t seem like there’s been substantial interest/a sale secured to date. The property being posted here will instigate interest. And most people will probably bin all the aspects they don’t like anyway, the actual property shell is fine.

PGmicstand · 28/10/2025 19:06
  1. How do you actually get through the hallway
  2. Why is there a bowl of stuff in the shower
  3. Are they being paid by Versace for all the advertising?

I quite like the mirrorballs, but the rest would need a bit of a revamp.

HRTQueen · 28/10/2025 19:10

Oh hilarious

let’s laugh at how some types have no taste 🙄

confusedeffie · 28/10/2025 19:10

This post says a lot about the OP. I suppose their house is superior in some way to this. I hope they feel better for mocking someone else’s home. Perhaps they should post their home for others to ridicule.

Notmyreality · 28/10/2025 19:11

cramptramp · 28/10/2025 18:34

Just wondering why the estate agent didn’t recommend a declutter before the photos.

Maybe they did and this is after the declutter.

SodOffbacktoaibu · 28/10/2025 19:14

I see these threads from time to time and I think when it's a very unusual house, as in quirky celebrity pad or something, it's ok. I've seen houses that are really eccentric etc.

But this is quite unpleasant. Whoever owns this house takes pride in their home. It is not some affluent area and not something especially unusual. This is middle class Mumsnet sneering at the working classes. Not a good look.
