Wowzers! I mean, just WOW!

Hardhats · 28/10/2025 20:42

I don’t understand the random baskets/giant martini glass in the open plan shower. Seems odd to soak all that stuff whenever you shower.

Also the way the flowers have been arranged with the stuff on the windowsill, it’s quite eerie as if someone has died

strawgoh · 28/10/2025 20:43

While the decor isn't to my own personal taste, kudos to them for going all out to display their exuberant style and love for all things glitz & glam.

And who doesn't love a cuddly tiger in the kitchen?

RyanFudgingMurphy · 28/10/2025 19:52

The old phrase, Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget comes to mind.

I would pay for three large skips to clear it out.

Those curtains aren’t inexpensive!

WildCherryBlossom · 28/10/2025 14:55

Every home should have a disco ball in the kitchen!

And a tiger, apparently

knitnerd90 · 28/10/2025 21:59

I don't care about people's furnishings, but I am surprised that the estate agent didn't suggest a declutter for photos. I don't necessarily love overly staged houses, but it's hard to envision how to use the kitchen, for example, because the vases and knick-knacks make it hard to see what's where. Also, another vote for a floor plan because the number of bathrooms doesn't add up with the photos. It's also hard to figure out where they eat: it must only be at the kitchen island. I'm assuming the kitchen-diner was knocked through to create one large kitchen, and they just don't have a table, though you could put one in the conservatory. But it would be very nice to see a floor plan to be able to visualise how to use the space properly.

Overall my vote is that the estate agent isn't trying as hard as they should.

How tacky.

id be put off as a buyer. You have no idea the sort of people they’ve been mixing with.

You're buying the house babe, not their social life.

My granny would have loved this house. Especially the fact that it is immaculate despite all the fripperies. She was always trying to Versailles their two bed mid sixties council terrace. Once very memorably with "Victorian Scenes" wallpaper which went so well with the swirly carpet and fake carved wooden wall. I find houses like this quite comforting because of her.

I bet you get the good wine round Balmoral Drive on a Tuesday when you pop in for a hairdo and a beveragino. None of that home made shite or cheap rose.

strawberrymadam · 28/10/2025 22:22

I’m here for the living room disco ball 👏

Reading the description, it kinds of comes across like the estate agent doesn’t really care about this property - it’s business as usual and they probably have more worthwhile properties on their books to focus on. Equally the estate agents might have suggested a tidy up which was refused by the seller, so it was presented as-is.

It's not to my taste. But it is someone's home and they filled it with things they like to their taste.
Unless you are thinking of buying i don't understand posts like this, unless they are to shame the owner of the house which is cruel.

Not at all I'm in admiration at their dedication to their style and taste. Also they are getting a ton more exposure than just on RM . I did not put anything negative in the OP ...only your opinion has turned it into a negative post 🤔

just cos its not your taste why come on here to diss it ??

When did I "diss it" ? For all you know it could be my house, it's not...but I haven't said a single negative comment....I'm in awe of the dedication to their style and taste

I've never understood the "oh my days" saying. What does it even mean?
That, however, is a hoose n half 😂

I didn't want to put OMG as I'm an atheist....and I don't believe he exist....I'm not sure what it means either 😂

What makes any of you think it’s ok to come online and just slag off someone’s home?

Yes, it’s anonymous but if the owner of this house somehow came across this thread, don’t you think it’s all quite cruel.

OP, you’re the ringleader.

Sometimes someone will post their own property listing to ask for advice and that might attract some negative points of view. But, they did ask and they put it up for discussion, so to some extent it’s fair enough. This is different though, the owner of this property has not asked for all your comments on their home. I would be mortified if this happened to me.

I'd say it's a house of interest... Unusual and flamboyant, in every way....I haven't been negative, what so ever and wow they have received a boost of exposure...they may be someone on here in that area that wants to buy it ....you never know 🤔

This post says a lot about the OP. I suppose their house is superior in some way to this. I hope they feel better for mocking someone else’s home. Perhaps they should post their home for others to ridicule.

When did I mock, it could be my house, it's not...but I haven't been negative once in my posts ...I'm in admiration for the commitment to their style and hopefully after several months of being on the market, they might get a sale. They obviously love it very much to invest all that energy into making it their own.

Last time one of these type of houses popped up, the owner was found and turned out he put a lot of effort and love into making it how he liked. He was a builder by trade I think.

So remember when you're slagging someone's home off (pretending you aren't), they're actually real people with real feelings.

columnatedruinsdomino · 29/10/2025 08:43

Sorry op, you did mock. Your title and emoji suggest this

DolphinOnASkateboard · 29/10/2025 09:08

People saying "it's mean and unfair to be shocked by this house" seem to have missed the fact that THERE IS A TIGER IN THE KITCHEN.

Are you seriously going to pretend? You title your post ‘Oh my days’ accompanied by that emoji and you’re claiming it’s not a piss take? That’s a bit pathetic. I’d have more respect for you if you were up front about it, but this disingenuous, snivelling ‘it wasn’t me, it was the others’ approach you’re taking is pretty low. You’ve lined it up and you’re letting some nasty fuckers take a swing at it.

At least have the courage of your convictions. Be honest. Admit you knew what would happen when you put the link up, and that you did it anyway.

ImFineItsAllFine · 29/10/2025 15:18

What makes any of you think it’s ok to come online and just slag off someone’s home?

Yes, people shouldn't be gratuitously mean, but in fairness the owners have chosen to list it for sale and have those photos on Rightmove etc so they are putting it into the public domain for scrutiny.

Are you claiming that you can’t see the difference between one person seeing an interior that wasn’t their cup of tea on RightMove, raising an eyebrow and moving on to the next house, and someone taking those photos, sticking them on a public chat forum that regularly has threads pinched by lazy writers, and saying ‘oh my days’ so everyone could join together and take the piss out of someone who very clearly has pride in their home? You think those two things are similar?
