i am always surprised sellers don’t take the advice to declutter and have a neutral palette

Tomorrowtodaywhenever · 28/10/2025 18:18

I love this decor look, I would never have it as I am not organised enough to have this much stuff about, or brave enough and I would not want to move all the stuff for dusting. I prefer actually living in a minimal style decor, less to worry about and less to think about. Calming and neutral.

But this style of decor I love, as it reminds me of being a little girl and dreaming about what my house would look like with ALL the glitter, sparkly, shiny, floral and pretty things that I could cram in. I would add in some ceramic unicorn statues and a load of pink too!

Is that a disabled-access shower? With a massive bowl of don't-know-what right in it, for the user to trip over?

Selling because of divorce, maybe. The DH just couldn't take any more.

When they like something, they like a lot of it. 😁
Do they live next door to a TK Maxx warehouse or something?

It does look like a TK Maxx / Homesense showroom - with a touch of garden centre thrown in.

Chocolation · 28/10/2025 18:32

My eyes hurt 😫

Namechangerage · 28/10/2025 18:33

There’s just so many layers - only on my second look did I spot so. much. Versace! 🤣

ViaRia01 · 28/10/2025 18:33

What makes any of you think it’s ok to come online and just slag off someone’s home?

Yes, it’s anonymous but if the owner of this house somehow came across this thread, don’t you think it’s all quite cruel.

OP, you’re the ringleader.

Sometimes someone will post their own property listing to ask for advice and that might attract some negative points of view. But, they did ask and they put it up for discussion, so to some extent it’s fair enough. This is different though, the owner of this property has not asked for all your comments on their home. I would be mortified if this happened to me.

cramptramp · 28/10/2025 18:34

Just wondering why the estate agent didn’t recommend a declutter before the photos.

Charlize43 · 28/10/2025 18:35

Oh I love it! It's like a poor man's version of the Beckhams.

AppleStrudel16 · 28/10/2025 17:20

How tacky.

id be put off as a buyer. You have no idea the sort of people they’ve been mixing with.

Are you thinking that some of their friends come with the house? Or that they’ll have left one behind in a cupboard somewhere?

This whole thread is pretty spiteful. I know I could have scrolled past, but I don’t think it’s right to ignore nastiness and downright snobbery when I see it. Which one of you is willing to put your own house on here to be critiqued?

Totally agree. This thread is poking fun at people who have not invited you to comment. A new low for Mumsnet

shellyleppard · 28/10/2025 18:40

Way too cluttered for my liking. How on earth do they get anything past the front door???

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 28/10/2025 18:40

WHAT is that on the kitchen floor ?!!!

very posh dog beds ?

not read the whole thread so maybe I missed what it is...

CaptainMyCaptain · 28/10/2025 18:42

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 28/10/2025 18:12

But the back door seems to be through the conservatory and has a glass table blocking it?!

I don't know then. 🤷‍♀️

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 28/10/2025 18:43

Not to my taste but it's been well looked after.

But put the bloody loo seat down when taking photos!

venus7 · 28/10/2025 18:43

Donatella should sue.

oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends · 28/10/2025 18:44

The only person I've heard say "Oh my days" is Jamie Oliver, so I thought it was his home.

DickDewey · 28/10/2025 18:45

Normally, I’d think you could look beyond the decor, but in this case I think it’s actually really off-putting to potential buyers.

You’d at least want a very strict agreement that none of the fixtures and fittings would be left.

Lots of people say it.

PommesdePlume · 28/10/2025 18:48

Good grief. It might ok if you stripped out all the swags and other gubbins!

Why was the EA not subtly trying to tell the sellers less is more!

Bikergran · 28/10/2025 18:50

I want to meet the person who lives there!!!!

Viviennemary · 28/10/2025 18:52

QueSeraSeraaaaa · 28/10/2025 14:47

Weird that you’d step into the hallway for a drink too. I can’t really make out each room unless I zoom in and study it 🤨

I can't either. There's a round piece of glass on top of what I thought was a loo. Only it isnt. But it made me laugh.

Twilight7777 · 28/10/2025 18:53

It’s giving nail shop owner 😆
