Naff things in other people's houses (Tongue in Cheek)

I know that it is a question of each to his own etc but what do you find naff in other people's homes? I was invited round to neighbour's today to gawp at their new gas barbecue that is the size of a Challenger tank. They were terribly proud of it and the husband was lovingly caressing it whilst the wife was squealing in anticipation of all the hot sausage her man was going to serve her! All I could think was 'Why? Why? Why?' What do you find naff in other people's homes and why?

Well, we've got a set of those vertical blinds left over from the 1980s so I'll start by nominating my own house for that.

Hot tubs

Currently house looking to possibly buy. Immediately put on the no list was one with a mahogany bar in the living room.

Wicker hearts hanging from cupboard handles. Just why?

Exactly the one I was talking about. I very unfortunately know someone who has it as a tattoo!! I liked her when she first got it but as time went on, I realised what a massive tit she was. The signs were there, really.

Artificial flowers, lots of family photos on the walls, and every form of scent diffuser/ air freshener known to mankind every few paces.

My late parents had crazy paving, fake panelled frames on the walls and that foamy flocked wallpaper painted a rather bright peach. So erm, I don't blink at much tbh.

I was on Rightmove yesterday, planning a fantasy move to the coast and came across a house that was -
Entirely grey
Massive TVs in every room
The spare room was a gaming room
Shiney surfaces
Massive hot tub
Plant free garden

It made me depressed but I'm sure someone would love it. I bet the neighbours were praying the hot tub was going though.

Another one for me are those white studio portraits of people en famille rolling around on the floor usually barefoot pretending like they are having such a great time and being ever so spontaneous. I don't wish to see your bunions in full glorious technicolour and certainly not blown up extra large!

Omg us too. The problem is they work for this house and the way the sun comes in. Nothing else would work as well. I have looked at so many windows coverings.

Well only playing if I say there are things in my house which others would not doubt find naff -
All word art of any type anywhere
Light boxes
Kitchen islands
Large family photos on the wall (blown up studio portraits)
Heart shaped ‘things’ or lots of pink things knickknacks.
Mugs with messages or ‘funny’ quotes etc
Dish washing brush (I don’t know why)
A toilet brush
Air freshener plug ins
Lots of candles
Lots of cushions

I have 3 gnomes in my garden; Gnorman the Gnome, Walter Wheelbarrow and Willie Wheelbarrow. Gnorman is classier because he is whitish stone. Walter and Willie are brightly coloured plastic.

I have a pink bathroom suite....

That sounds like my neighbours sans their new ginormous gas guzzling BBQ that is named the 'Rhino' or some such uber-masculine name guaranteed to make the man in your life feel like he is taming a beast whilst flipping Wall's sausages in his flip flops!

I don't have any of the things mentioned so no skin in the game but.....

Huge TVs. Mottos/slogans and motivational ‘art’. Hearts everywhere. Those b/W photos (you used to get a photo shoot done of all the family) by a high street company, really generic and uninspiring.
