Africa Waterhole Web Cam

My ds1 (8) is doing "Africa" as a topic at school this term (and loving it).

His teacher gave him the address of this website which is a webcam at a waterhole in Botswana. He loves watching it and seeing the animals.

PS Don't check just now though as the cameras are offline and not working for some reason! Check later in the day - after school is a good time.

please help me - I have followed the link and downloaded the updated info for Adobe GoLive CS as it recommends. I click on the view wildcam link and get an empty GoLive screen with a questionmark picture and "empty reference" message in the middle. Anyone any ideas??

cori · 01/10/2005 09:42

Does any one know where in Botswana this is?

charliecat · 01/10/2005 10:02

How do I get it in the corner while i am mumsnetting?

roisin · 01/10/2005 10:31

Cori - click on 'map' and it tells you.
Mashatu game reserve, Eastern Botswana, on the border with South Africa.

MummyJules · 01/10/2005 10:36

It looks like some kind of eel like fish! This is so fascinating! Have just shown DD and for a couple of seconds she was like "ooo a crocodile" but then she said " I need to go back to my dora book now mummy!"

MummyJules · 01/10/2005 10:50

Elephant is back on again!

Zephyrcat · 01/10/2005 13:14

ostrich on just now!

wish we'd seen the croc

RTKangaMummy · 01/10/2005 13:30

you can make it full screen if you click on the thingy

RTKangaMummy · 01/10/2005 13:31

and make it 200%

Zephyrcat · 01/10/2005 13:32

Does it mess up the resolution if you make it big?

RTKangaMummy · 01/10/2005 13:36

on full screen one a tiny bit pixelated

but 200% one perfect

tabitha · 01/10/2005 13:40

Excuse my ignorance of technical stuff but can someone tell me what thingy you click on to get full screen and how you then make if 200%....PLEASE!
I'm totally stumped.
tia

Zephyrcat · 01/10/2005 13:43

If you put your mouse on the picture, you should get two little icons come up in the left hand corner - click on the one with the arrows and it should work from there

tabitha · 01/10/2005 13:47

Nope, don't get any icons zephyrcat
Must have a dud mouse!
Thanks anyway.

suedonim · 01/10/2005 13:51

Thanks for this web link, Roisin. Dd has been fascinated by it esp the bit this am when a croc was eating a big fish. The fish then tried to swim away - the poor thing was being eaten alive!

ssd · 01/10/2005 13:55

Thanks, although nothing is happening, do you just wait?

RTKangaMummy · 01/10/2005 13:58

wiggle about a bit and you will

RTKangaMummy · 01/10/2005 14:09

RTKangaMummy · 01/10/2005 14:13
