As the original thread is reaching its limits I’ve started a new one for those still wanting advice/support on this crazy journey.

Yes next week too and we've been thinking the same thing, but then other schools seem to all offer late too so you'd like to hope, but I would imagine it will be tight.

Hi, is this for BA or Cert HE? My YP did self tapes for BA and was invited to interview for CertHE but hasnt heard anything back from them yet......

NervesAreShot · 30/04/2026 19:35

So this is me signing off. Final rundown of my son's audition season:

BA Actor
Welsh - rejection from tape
Guildhall, RCS, RADA - second round recalls
LAMDA - transferred to foundation track and then withdrew

BA Actor muso
GSA - Waitlist (withdrawn)
Mountview - withdrew before second round recall

and.....

an offer for MA Screen Acting at BOVTS, his top choice and where he will be starting in September!

I have one very happy young man!!

Congratulations to those of you with offers and fingers crossed for those of you still waiting for final outcomes and going again next year. So proud of each and every one of them (and us) for getting through this crazy year!!!

Hello
This is for the first audition.
My daughter has pulled out now though as accepted something else. Hope you hear soon 🙏

Truetoself · 30/04/2026 19:54

Congratulations @NervesAreShot. I didn’t even know you can go straight on to a MA!

Looking at options for next year. Opinions on Arts Ed for Acting, lots of posts dont list it for acting. Know its more of an MT background but so is mountview etc so wondered why many dont seen to have it on their lists of applications?

I think it has a good rep for Acting too. It's just very, very expensive, so many people don't apply.

Truetoself · 01/05/2026 09:59

@Biscuitsneededthat can’t be the reason as the same applied for MT (expensive).

Thanks for the update, we are in this too. Just want some things to start landing now to make decisions as it's been way too long. Do we think they are waiting to see what they are doing with 3rd rounders before committing to see more? Not sure that feels entirely right as we are all supposed to be in this 'equal consideration thing' but all sorts happens doesn't it

I think that probably is what they're doing as some 2nd rounders have had rejections so it seems to make sense that those that haven't heard anything are in some kind of 'maybe' pool. Though really...who knows?!!

Biscuitsneeded · 01/05/2026 10:38

But for MT, Arts Ed is arguably a top 3 school, plus they have various bursaries and scholarships. I'm sure it is good for Acting too but there other schools you might prioritise.

Truetoself · 01/05/2026 11:10

I saw on tiktok that one young man had received MT offers from
ArtsEd, GSA and Mountview! He didn’t say which one he chose but I should have made a note of the name to look out for in the future!

Yeah thats what i thought too, plus mountview is just as expensive as Arts and many have that on the list.

I definitely think it's cost related. I'd say the likes of LAMDA, RADA, Central are more well known and therefore may be seen to have a better name when it comes to Acting than ArtsEd and Mountview. So with the astronomical top up fees, many probably prefer to just go for the "big names" where no extra cost is needed. For us my DD had to stay away from Arts Ed, Mountview and OSD because we just can't afford all the extra fees.
Whereas because they have bigger name for MT, people may be more likely to risk it and try to get scholarships etc.

Exactly. Also I know people who have auditioned for Arts Ed MT just to see if they could get in, even if they knew they couldn't afford it! Usually if you get offered Arts Ed BA MT you are talented enough to have other offers that you can then take up. But Acting places being even harder to come by than MT, you'd be gutted if you auditioned for Arts Ed and actually got offered an Acting place, and it was your only offer and you couldn't afford to accept it!

My dd did Foundation Acting at ArtsEd and felt like the poor relation. The other students were loaded, money was no object.

stargirl111 · 01/05/2026 19:20

hi! is anyone still waiting to hear on central classical and contemporary final round? mine was april 8th! x

That's tough. We asked DS not to apply to Arts, MV or OSD because of cost but I never really thought through the social implications if he had actually gone there. I hope your DD managed to enjoy it anyway.

Does anyone have any knowledge/experience of movement from the reserve list at RCB please? That was the outcome for my DD. She’s disappointed, even though it says on their website that that this is the most common audition outcome. It also says they audition until June and the reserve list stays live until the end of August. That seems awfully late to me, as it’s only a few weeks before term starts.

Truetoself · 01/05/2026 22:44

@MimiGCi am sorry I can’t remember if she is holding any other offers? If so I think you have to accept one of them whilst hoping something comes up last minue at RCS? I have heard of people changing their destination in August so although stressful it is not unheard of

She’s got an offer from MST, but hasn’t accepted it yet….it’s Birmingham where she’s on the reserve list. So she’d have to accept Manchester now and then withdraw if Birmingham came good later down the line?

I’m not 100% but I think you would have to put first choice Birmingham then MST as second choice so that if Birmingham does offer a place it will be first choice. Do not withdraw it on your ucas, I heard that looses your spot?

I'm not sure about this. I would ask the college itself. Drama schools seem to work with UCAS up to a point but they can keep you in the mix even after UCAS deadline. I think you need to accept MST as that is where you have the offer, but make clear to Birmingham that you wish to remain on reserve list. Then if a place comes up later at Birmingham it is possible to make the switch on UCAS.

warwickdrama · 02/05/2026 08:23

ive just remembered that Birmingham is with UCAS conservatoire and MST is with UCAS so I think it’s possible to accept both.
