Offers for 2025

ontheturn · 04/11/2024 16:15

I noticed that in 2024 there was an offers thread where people shared when their children. had submitted to ucas and what offers they had received. Anyone interested? We have offers for Manchester, Bristol and Leeds all within ten days of submitting ucas but still waiting on Edinburgh. We do know others who submitted at the same time who have had Edinburgh offers already.

Might be worth checking spam filters @NCTDN? Maybe it varies by course. DS is applying for physics and is going to an open day but I suppose other courses might organise them differently.

NCTDN · 16/01/2025 09:16

He says there's nothing in there.

My DD has found lots of the uni stuff has ended up being filed away in her gmail app in the 'promotions' section (even the precious invitations for interviews, which in all four out of five cases didn't get a mention on UCAS at all). Perhaps this is because they use some sort of bulk mailing service. She's had to be careful about trawling through.

Has anyone's DC had an offer from KCL and, if so, have they been invited to an offer holder's day yet? DC has not yet had any offer holder's day info and the website seems to suggest that, unlike at other unis, they are for those who have accepted their offer, rather than to help them choose which uni to accept, but I may be wrong!

Offer for Warwick maths and stats came through this evening (MMath, Astar Astar A). Happy DC : )

Durham offer received for a Humanities subject today. Completes the set and grateful it's come in now. Not sure they will take it though....

justthatreallyagain · 23/01/2025 15:39

My son is waiting for Business at Bath - he said other students in his school have now had business at Bath offers. They submitted similar time or later than him. His predicted grades are higher than their's so the waiting is getting intense! My daughter (twins) has heart set on Exeter Liberal Arts still waiting to hear about that too!

CautiousLurker01 · 23/01/2025 15:52

Getting fed up of waiting for KCL!! Classics 🤯

Universalism · 23/01/2025 22:57

Seem to be more Durham offers coming out now. DS had one today for a joint honours humanities course (offer was the standard one for the course).

Mommypa · 24/01/2025 12:30

Has anyone had offers for Finance and accounting

ontheturn · 24/01/2025 13:50

We're also just waiting for Edinburgh Humanities. Really hoping to hear before April as that's when their offer holder's day is according to their website.

maxplanck · 24/01/2025 15:14

DS is waiting for Warwick maths. Heard from everywhere apart from Cambridge which is next week.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 24/01/2025 16:11

DC1 is also in Edinburgh humanities limbo. There was a suggestion on their website that they weren't even go to think about looking at applications until after the UCAS deadline, so I assume it will be a while yet...

crouchendtigerr · 24/01/2025 17:47

DS is waiting on Warwick maths, heard from all other choices.

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 24/01/2025 20:38

DD is waiting for law from Warwick and UCL

Umbilicat · 24/01/2025 21:20

I’m sure you all are already well well Edinburgh is one of the last ones to offer, my DC got an offer from them for a humanity subject in early March a few years ago if that is any help to anyone. It’s worth a weight in my opinion just keep the faith.

legosnowqueen · 26/01/2025 11:35

DS is also waiting on Durham & Edinburgh - both notoriously slow but it is frustrating if you end up missing offer holder days. DS got his offer from Durham last year on 6 February & this year they have committed publicly to communicating decisions by 31 March. The waiting is agony!

NCTDN · 26/01/2025 18:15

Durham is ridiculous. DD was still waiting in May for hers two years ago.

Please could you share where they've said this? It'd really help nerves in this house.

JessyCarr · 26/01/2025 21:48

@Perzival It’s on their website:

https://www.durham.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/how-to-apply/what-happens-to-your-application/selection-process/

“If you apply before 29 January 2025 then you should hear from us no later than 31 March 2025.”

Perzival · 26/01/2025 21:55

@JessyCarr much appreciated, thank you.

JessyCarr · 26/01/2025 22:00

You’re welcome @Perzival. They have made that commitment because UCAS is clamping down on late decisions by universities on undergraduate applications, which have been stretching into the key exam period for some years now. For the 2026 cycle they are bringing the January application date forward and setting an advisory deadline for universities’ decisions of 31 March. That’s why many of the universities are doing a trial run in the current 2025 cycle of responding by that date if they can.

JessyCarr · 26/01/2025 22:12

Edinburgh is still on its usual timetable, though.

”Decisions on 2025 entry: Provided you applied by the October or January deadline, you will receive a decision by mid-May 2025. The majority of applicants will hear back by 30 April.”

motheronthedancefloor · 27/01/2025 08:33

how exactly will UCAS clamp down / enforce it?

DD is clearly very stressed waiting for offers, more so as her friends have offers (albeit different courses and universities).
