Just for nosiness and due to excitement about DS’s application going in, wondered if we could have a thread with people sharing offers as they are received, during this early phase.

Has anyone had an offer yet? Who will be first?

And totally realise that most won’t have applied yet and won’t do so for months and that’s absolutely fine and more normal.

@Travelban interesting, did the boys have the same interviewer?

I think it highlights that there isn't much between candidates and decisions can be marginal.

Just wondering, if an offer says

"112 UCAS Tariff points from your GCE A-Levels"

Would they take into account points from Core Maths/EPQ? Do they come under GCE A-Levels, or is it strictly the main subjects?

The offers are so basic and vague, I honestly thought they'd be more info and communication from the universities, but there's nothing!

@Pleasealexa no all different ones.. they did say they were all very nice to them. Yes indeed it is so incredibly marginal and you never know what actually lost you the place as the feedback is very generic.. exactly like Oxbridge or any other really competitive course i guess.

To be honest I wouldn't worry too much as the Scottish unis can be slower anyway so it may not have made a difference applying a week or 2 earlier. DS has applied for some of the same Scottush unis and only heard back fro Glasgow from your list

Well done to your son! That's pretty much the impression I got 2 years ago. To be honest, I don't think there is much to choose between Oxford, Cambridge or Imperial. All 3 very prestigious to get an offer from!

Morning. Has anyone heard from KCL in respect of War Studies?

@Calmmumnot The only input my husband ever made to the uni process was to try to urge our buys to apply for KCL war studies. Fruitlessly. Such an interesting course

@Revengeofthepangolins my DD is so fascinated by this course. Just hoping she gets an offer.

Exciting to hear from Imperial. Chemistry at Imperial has said they won’t offer until after all of the interviews, toward early March. That is when DC1 heard two years ago; he is there now and very happy with his course (even if he’s barely been upright since he got home a couple days ago. It is demanding. And he may also be detoxing)

DC2 has had offers from UCL and Edinburgh, so Imperial is an outlier.

I am hoping for Oxford because it will be so much cheaper for us than the London unis. 🤣

DD still waiting for Warwick, which, typically, is her number one choice. Had 4 other offers, just awaiting that one!

Has anybody had any offers the last few days? Do we think that is it until the new year now?

Unconditional for maths and computing science for Strathclyde today!

DS had an email from St Andrews regarding applying for help with fees/scholarship and not to wait until he received an offer, if he wanted to apply for one as the date may have passed.
No offer though!
Anyone else had this?

My DS had a CS offer from Manchester late last night so some people are still working :-)

My daughter is also waiting for Exeter for Clinical Psychology - I believe that interview for this but no news yet. She has 3 other offers but Exeter is her favourite.

DS had an offer from York for CS yesterday. Contextual at ABB so looking like a very good insurance pick (predicted A star AA). We aren’t really sure why the offer is contextual though - we’ll query it once more offers are in I think.

This week ds has received two unconditionals for Strath (English & Creative Writing and English & Journalism) and an unconditional from Napier for English & Film.

Strath was his first choice so he's delighted and likely going to accept one of those offers.
