Just for nosiness and due to excitement about DS’s application going in, wondered if we could have a thread with people sharing offers as they are received, during this early phase.

Has anyone had an offer yet? Who will be first?

And totally realise that most won’t have applied yet and won’t do so for months and that’s absolutely fine and more normal.

A Durham and Edinburgh ‘happy holidays..we are closed for Christmas’ here too.
To go with the Durham email last week that they are still considering applications etc.
Sure they must send this to every applicant who hasn’t received an offer/rejection yet.

My son’s UCAS form went in on Thursday. Is it unlikely he’ll get any word before Christmas now? Applied to Glasgow, Strathclyde , Edinburgh, Heriot Watt and Glasgow Caley. 5 As at Scottish higher in hand. Predicted AA at advanced higher and AA at higher for this year.

DA got an email from Imperial saying no decisions will be sent out till after the holidays

Last night DS got an offer from Imperial for CS at 22:30. I am so elated for.him. We now have St A, Durham and Imperial, 3 solid options. We can relqx and enjoy Christmas now!!

Congratulations on more offers received. Imperial one is very impressive @Travelban - that course is super competitive.

@TooOldForThisNonsense We submitted last Tuesday and by Wednesday had two offers. 4 out of 5 by the end of the weekend!

Received offer for Economics BSc from Bristol this morning, email only, UCAS hasn't updated so can't see what grades. DD applied 14 October and was placed on hold a week later.

@notfeelingcreative @Pleasealexa thank you so much. It seems so random. Three boys were all interviewed on the same day for CS. One got rejected, my son accepted and the other friend still waiting to hear. All 3 boys very high calibre, same credentials and the first boy who was rejected had an interview for cambridge, son and his friend rejected by Oxbridge before interview. It.just feels like a lottery!!!

Hi @Travelban, what date did your DS interview at Imperial? DS waiting to hear for CS too - he went down on 6 Dec.

@pandapacer all three boys including my son were also on the 6th of December! Must have done quite a few on the day.. fingers crossed he gets to hear soon!!

Thanks so much @Travelban , I won't tell him about your son! He feels like he messed up the interview a little so is already a bit despondent about it 😬

Is it better or worse to wait until Jan to be rejected? I feel it is better to wait!!

@PandaPacer fingers crossed for yoir son. I have read somewhere that they.are open until the 22nd , so might still hear from them...

We emailed one of the unis that didn't lower for Core Maths, when it stated on their website they did and they've just confirmed they are changing the offer.

Thanks - that’s great. I’m just wondering though if he won’t get any now as near Christmas. It’s just annoying to think if he’d got his finger out and submitted earlier he might have heard by now.
