University offers coming in?

Just for nosiness and due to excitement about DS’s application going in, wondered if we could have a thread with people sharing offers as they are received, during this early phase.

Has anyone had an offer yet? Who will be first?

And totally realise that most won’t have applied yet and won’t do so for months and that’s absolutely fine and more normal.

Following DD's interview at Oriel Oxford on Monday, she's heard she's a second interview with Oriel again tomorrow. Bit weird. This time with two tutors not teaching her subject. Normally, very good but not great applicants are offered to other colleges to see if they'll take them, whereas really top candidates are displayed across colleges to ensure similar standards. But a second interview at the same college seems unusual. Anyone familiar?

It's likely she gave an excellent interview and they passed her onto other admissions folks to see what they should be looking for. This happened to a relative. They applied to Oxford without specifying a college and after their first interview went for TWO further interview. At the time they thought they were being passed over and moved along, but were told at the end of the process that they were a "benchmark" example. So that can only be a good thing.

DS just got a Durham maths offer, A star A A - (I think reduced a grade as he did pretty well - got a 7 - in TMUA). He’s pleased!

Congrats to your DS! Has he looked into colleges yet?

Anyone heard from Bath? I know some stem offers went out and I hear about a dribble of other subjects. Was hoping DD would hear by Xmas as grades in hand - she's already had one from Durham which I thought would be later than the rest.

@mondaytosunday Dd has an offer from Bath for natural sciences. Received about 10 days ago, I think.

DS1 had a physics offer from Bath just this morning.

Still waiting on Durham though. There's just no logic to the timing of offers, as far as I can see!

Yep, Nottingham was first for DD - about 3 days. DD has all hers in now, Lancaster slowest at 2 weeks.

Thanks - Geography. Departments in the same uni can vary a lot.

We're still waiting on Bath for physics but it's good to hear of one offer @RockaLock!

A friend's dd also not heard from Bath for MFL. It's her only one outstanding.

@QueenMabby my daughter applied to Bath for MFL last year and she got an offer during the Christmas holidays.

@QueenMabby Bath is also DS only outstanding one (Engineering) after applying in October so maybe they are slower than the rest

DD didn't apply to Bath but has 4 offers - so glad, she was so worried that places would have gone while waiting for school to finish their bit! 🤞 for those still waiting

I know @CornishGem1975 it seems ridiculous to be stressed about not hearing when others haven't even submitted! Best of luck to your DC and hope for quick offers when they do!

DD had all of her offers bar Durham (which not expecting to hear from anytime soon) and then Cambridge on the 24th Jan.

My DS has 3 offers but waiting to hear from UCL and will find out from Cambridge on January 24th.
Not sure if any one has received an offer from UCL yet?

There’s been the odd UCL offer posted on reddit, I think for something like Mechanical Physics, but very few.
