Following on from the A level support thread I thought I would create one for results day.
Hopefully you will all join me for the long nail biting wait and the big day at the end of it!

Just woke up and the Adrenalin has pounced. Had a quick look and it appears that the course the daughter wants has vacancies so if she has missed by a grade or so it's worth a phone call... hoping that won't be necessary! She's still asleep. Good luck to all those kids.

I wish dd hadn’t set her heart on just one course. She won’t consider clearing. Just retake. I wish I had managed to sleep a bit.
I’ve looked at her course in clearing and it says N/A - aghhhh

Marvellous, thank you. This one is taking ages to load because it's so big! See you over there.

@Guinefort love the idea of ponies with magical calming powers!

Morning. Haven't felt so nervous at this time in the morning since I ran the London Marathon - or been to the loo so many times 😫

DS still asleep so one positive there

HairyMaclary · 17/08/2023 07:20

Well, it’s finally here. Been up ages, didn’t sleep well. DS is up, dressed and out for a walk, he has responded to the family WhatsApp messages too. I guess there are signs he may be maturing!

He’s hoping for his firm, wants a change for his insurance and has about 5 other uni clearing Numbers in his phone. There is a good chance results are not as high as predicted. DH and I will take him to school for 8am and then wait…

Tisforptarmigan · 17/08/2023 07:45

Enjoying the support. I found you all at 3.45 this morning when I could not sleep. Began checking universities for clearing places - although I don't really know what I am looking for at the minute. DS's firm choice uni has no clearing places at all for UK students.

No idea what that means - guess we will find out very soon. I am trying not to think about it - it's all I can think about!

Good luck to all. Not long now

Durham have 75 courses in clearing. Not sure what that means either. Maybe lots of reshuffling about to happen in both directions

The ucas information was incorrect- they have just put vacancies live on their website.

My daughter’s subject is in clearing and I cannot decide if that’s good news or not.

not long to go. Best of luck.

Thanks. Do you know where on the website?

I can only find the link for international students.

Daughter got into Reading for Zoology, her firm choice. Hope everyone else got the results they are after :)
This is page 20, so hope this lovely thread continues, would love to hear how your DC got on :)

Neversaygoodbye · 17/08/2023 08:47

DD got her firm choice of Surrey (although grades slightly lower than hoped for), she's over the moon.
