It's felt like a long time coming and I can't wait to know one way or the other. DS seems to be coping ok so far.

ACJane · 22/01/2023 17:54

@usedtobeboss3 that's almost cruelty to parents to make you wait that long!!

PettsWoodParadise · 22/01/2023 19:51

We are glad DD will be at school with lovely friends when she finds out on Wednesday. I will be at work and DH at home. DD will let us know at break time, which may be as late as 11.30.

madcattersteaparty · 22/01/2023 20:32

Checking in too. Counting the days til Wednesday! Offers in for choice #2 so it will be fine either way. That's what I'm telling myself anyway!

Does this mean they are likely to hear first thing? I may have to move some meetings around so I can keep an eye on my phone!

PettsWoodParadise · 22/01/2023 21:47

I am only going on what others have posted and it ‘may’ be 9.30 ish???. I will be in the office, DH at home and DD at school. I have a series of meetings that day but trying to create a number of break out sessions so I can do a discrete exit to fiddle with my phone.

Ok, thank you! I’m going to do the same!

Cocopogo · 23/01/2023 08:02

Oh I’ve not even checked my meeting schedule for Wednesday. Doubt DS class will get much work done then with students constantly checking for updates, assuming there are any others in his classes who are waiting to hear.

Panicmode1 · 23/01/2023 08:10

Good luck everyone waiting...it's hideous. And then even when they have an offer you can't count any chickens until results day!

DS found out around 11am last year (have just checked my messages...I thought it was 4pm, so that may help you to understand how long the day felt 😂). That may have been determined by his timetable, rather than what time the notification actually arrived.....

craggyrat · 23/01/2023 08:25

Offer came in at exactly 10.56 here last year ! Just checked back now.

coffeeteame · 23/01/2023 08:31

It's different though this year isn't it, because they will just find out from UCAS ('O' or 'R') rather than the individual college emails (as has previously been the case). I think that's what someone said? Good luck everyone!

Oh, that's so much better (or worse depending 😉) but at least there isn't the trickling in thing that happened last year!

Fingers and toes crossed everyone.

coffeeteame · 23/01/2023 09:19

The only thing with finding out through UCAS is that if it's 'R,' they won't know if they were pooled or not. Knowing if they were at least pooled, can take away some if the sting on the day, because at least they know the uni thought they were worthy of an offer.

Not sure that helps much. That is like being rejected by a potential boyfriend/girlfriend and them saying "I really like you but....."

Hertsessex · 23/01/2023 10:02

Idiot question but are Cambridge results definitely Wednesday? We are hands off and not really on top of detail and leaving to DD but she seemed to say it was more vague "around then", "aiming for then" or something similar.

usedtobeboss3 · 23/01/2023 10:13

Yes @Hertsessex - definitely Wednesday

Lemonella · 23/01/2023 13:05

Even on UCAS, if an offer, it would say college code eg A, B, T etc.

Greatauntdymphna · 24/01/2023 08:37

Good luck for everyone for tomorrow. Email came around 9.30 here a couple of years ago.

Karmacat · 24/01/2023 08:42

Good luck to everyone waiting for Cambridge tomorrow. Whatever the outcome we should be so proud of them all, it's a tough process to navigate and if it was up to me I'd offer them all places.

Riverpebble · 24/01/2023 09:23

Good luck tomorrow everybody.
I think 700 messages left in this thread should be enough but I'll keep an eye on it.

Trying to stay cool and not mention tomorrow! I know he’ll tell me either way. Good luck everyone x

PettsWoodParadise · 24/01/2023 17:12

Good luck all! DD is at work this evening so a good diversion.

It reminds me of when she was little and it was ‘one sleep’ before her birthday / Christmas Day / going on holiday.

OnePlusOneEquals · 24/01/2023 17:46

Thinking of you all for tomorrow, at least you’ll know one way or another and can then decide which path to follow

OnePlusOneEquals · 24/01/2023 17:49

Saw this on The Student Room - some really helpful info

Good luck to all of you awaiting offers tomorrow.
