DC has received an offer from ARU. What relief. Still waiting to hear back from the others.

Hopefully it will @AsdaYellowTins . We are still waiting to hear. DD is acting calm but visibly jumps on her phone every time a post-offer email comes through from her fifth choice non-med uni, which is also one of her medicine choices. February has been a l-o-n-g month 😉

@AsdaYellowTins Woohoo 🎉! It really lifts a weight when that first one comes in. Is she a grad or a school leaver? It looked like the first batch was (all?) grads on TSR.

@opoponax yes the same, and so many emails come from the universities with titles that at first glance make her expect a rejection (Southampton is one of those I think), it is a very twitchy time. I am over the moon for her, she works so hard.

Her grandad has been out in the street telling everyone 😁

@Monkey2001 she is a school leaver.

She has been offered ABB; we assume that is due to widening participation eligibility. Something would have to go very wrong for her to not get those grades so she is soo happy. Obviously something could still go adrift, but I hope that now she can calm down a little and just concentrate on her A levels.

Fingers crossed for all those DC with no offer as yet!

@CharlieSJ thank you. A thousand questions I am sure! Neither DH or I went to university so this is a whole new thing for us. We haven't a clue tbh. Poor DD she has to work everything out for herself.

Nothing about that on TSR. Is your DC on the waiting list? I think most waiting list people will end up with offers this year because Sheffield had such a high UCAT cut off that all their interviewees will have had multiple interviews and if they are good at interviews they will have multiple offers so a good number will reject Sheffield.

@Monkey2001 definitely on TSR, agree good opportunities for those on the waiting list, my DD will not accept her place on the list, as has another offer.

Gulp nervously awaiting DS getting out kf a Chem mock to see if he has a Sheffiled email....

@AsdaYellowTins please dm any of your questions, don't know if I will know the answers but I will try. The whole thing is a daunting experience.

@Pip4764 I had somehow "un-watched" the Sheffield thread. Glad your DD has another offer she is happy with, I have lost track of who is where.

For other Sheffield applicants, the way it usually works is that they email all the people they want on their waiting list, then offers start coming through at 6:01 the next few evenings. Might start tonight. I think rejections come at the end.

Oh rejections at the end sounds miserable. You know you are not on the waiting list so you are either in or out, must be nailbiting later on in the process when you know there have been lots of offers but you are still waiting. Dd has taken herself off the student room, so is unaware.

No waiting list email or offer here yet. Nerve wracking

Nothing here from Sheffield either. You could have heard a mouse in this house at 18.01 this evening.
