UEA offer in for DS! Very pleased! 😁

Can't celebrate with him until Thursday as he is visiting GF in Nottingham and DH is away on business. With DS1 all offers and rejections were marked with Domino's and Ben and Jerry's, but DS2 might just want a heap of meat as he is a protein fiend!

Great news. Well dome!

Brilliant news @Monkey2001 , really pleased to see this . Very grateful for your advice , along with others when I asked for help in which unis my son should apply to . He has had 4 interviews as a result of your advice and whist I know that's along way off an offer it's a great start .

Bimkom · 14/02/2023 12:26

Congratulations @Monkey2001 fantastic news!

coffeeandbiscuittime · 16/02/2023 10:36

Late to the congratulations @Monkey2001 - but I am really pleased, one offer and they can relax. Here’s hoping he gets the others and then he can choose!

Sluj · 16/02/2023 12:01

@Monkey2001 so pleased for your son. I remember you from previous threads and occasionally lurk on here to see how everyone is getting on . My DS graduated from UEA and it was his top choice from 3 offers. He is now an F2 and really appreciates how well prepared the course made him for work. They literally had a day every week working at a GPs and lots of hospital placements. Very logically organised course.
Both my DSs actually went to UEA and both knew nothing about it at the beginning but would move back there to live in a heartbeat.

Monkey2001 · 16/02/2023 16:20

Thanks again everyone!

@Sluj DS loves that about UEA, makes it his favourite course, but it is a VERY long way from Bristol, and nobody from here goes there, unlike Sheffield which is full of Bristol people and an easy journey home, so makes it a bit daunting. I know it is fine once you get a place where you know nobody, I did it when I went to university.

Hope we see lots of offers coming in for everyone in the next 4 weeks.

Africa2go · 20/02/2023 19:45

Looking for reassurance - DD's interview was abandoned this afternoon due to issues with technology. ID check was fine, introduction was fine, then screen started flickering between other students. Interviewer said it was their issue, moving DD on between "rooms". She couldn't hear one of the interviewers. Issue is that it was mid afternoon - so surely if it was Uni's issue they'd have sorted it by mid afternoon? She's done 3 previously from home without a glitch. They've been very nice & emailed to say they'll rearrange - but no date as yet (today was already rearranged (by uni) due to strikes. If she does get another date, will it genuinely be a clean slate? She'd started 2 of the MIs. She's panicking she's blown this one???

Brilliant thank you. Not Bristol but hoping it doesn't go against her.

Monkey2001 · 21/02/2023 10:57

@Africa2go I am sure it will not count against her, but that must have been so stressful. Will make her worry about the technology competence at that university, so probably works against the university more than the candidate.
