Great news @kackle !

AsdaYellowTins · 24/02/2023 09:03

@kackle congratulations to your DC!

coffeeandbiscuittime · 24/02/2023 09:23

Congratulations to those with offers.
The wait is painful but hopefully within the next two weeks we will see decisions being made.
Up in Scotland , mountain biking and walking ( not enough snow to ski) so DD is not checking her phone until evening time.
She is doing revision in the evening - which is more than she did last year.
She has learnt a lot in this Gap year, hopefully she does get a place this year but we ( inc her) think the Gap year has been beneficial.
Good luck to all waiting for decisions.

Monkey2001 · 24/02/2023 10:38

Ooh, congrats @kackle . Are you going to the offer holder day (18th March)? Might see you there!

kackle · 24/02/2023 11:31

We've had a mail from them at 0800.

Nothing about offer holders day. Is that a seperate email?

We would like to go on the 18th

Peachy2005 · 24/02/2023 16:36

Congrats @AsdaYellowTins and @kackle Such great news!!

1 person on Sheffield TSR claiming to have received an offer at 12.30 today…has anyone else had anything?

Lottsbiffandsmudge · 24/02/2023 16:48

Nothing yet.

opoponax · 24/02/2023 17:27

Nothing here yet either.

Lottsbiffandsmudge · 24/02/2023 18:30

Lots of offers on TSR though 😪

opoponax · 24/02/2023 18:50

@Lottsbiffandsmudge the batching of offers is mentally tough. It does get easier once they have one offer.

OP posts:
Lottsbiffandsmudge · 24/02/2023 19:15

He's trying to sit mocks and finding it v difficult to focus.... blimey this is tough...

coffeeandbiscuittime · 24/02/2023 19:49

On reserve at Sheffield- very unhappy DD.

On reserve at Sheffield- very unhappy DD.

Oh no, I was really rooting for you! I still maintain that this will be a great year to be on the reserve list though. Hope offers come soon.

coffeeandbiscuittime · 24/02/2023 19:54

I know Thankyou @Monkey2001 - let's just hope one of the others comes good.
Did your DS get an offer?

opoponax · 24/02/2023 20:10

@coffeeandbiscuittime sorry your DD is upset. It could easily turn into an offer but the wait is hard. Hope she gets good news from her others soon.

Monkey2001 · 24/02/2023 21:11

@coffeeandbiscuittime I don't think he has heard anything - he is visiting his GF, but he would have messaged me if he had any news.

GladysGeorgina · 24/02/2023 21:34

ARU offer for DS here. First offer after Plymouth rejection. Huge relief for everyone!

Africa2go · 24/02/2023 21:59

Well done to your DS @GladysGeorgina . @coffeeandbiscuittime everyone seems to think more offers will be made by Sheffield when applicants have to firm - fingers crossed x

justjuggling · 25/02/2023 01:51

Great news @GladysGeorgina 🙌

AsdaYellowTins · 25/02/2023 08:11

@coffeeandbiscuittime here's hoping an offer is on the way from one of his other choices 🍀
@GladysGeorgina congratulations to your son. Think the offer holders days are 4th and 25th March

Monkey2001 · 25/02/2023 08:35

Congratulations @GladysGeorgina !

mumsneedwine · 25/02/2023 08:45

This time of year is tough. Offers and rejections coming through, waiting lists for some and just endless waiting for others. So so hard to concentrate on exams, but they need to be the focus, offer or not. In pre covid years 40% of students didn't get their predicted grades (some get better !). Even if no offer now, you get those grades and the game is still on !

Waitlists v v likely to turn into offers. And gap years are not a bad thing. It's a long hard degree and a year of some fun seems a good idea to me. Lots of hugs to everyone.
