Lots of dc at my dd's school still have no news either way so I wouldn't take it as a sign of anything. History lot def don't know

DD has her first interview date (Biochem) - next Monday. They've said they'll send her an article to read 30 mins beforehand and she's to study it in preparation for being asked about it. She also had a chat with an ex-O alumni who advised her not to go if she wanted to enjoy her uni experience!!!

Ds had to send a photo of himself for his application and in the assessment he could see 4 others were taking the test at the same time. He want asked to show the room. (Cambridge)

Congratulations to those with interviews! Dd still refreshing email for some news.. good or bad! 😩

At the moment she is revising for a Biology exam tomorrow, so I won't ask her for any news until after her test.

I'm told the TMUA results are released tomorrow. That will be interesting.

Hope those of you who haven't heard yet, and your DC, are holding up. Two years ago at this stage DD had at least another week to wait for her subject invitations. I could see what it said on the Oxford timetable, but that didn't help much when it seemed that on MN I was the last woman standing whose child hadn't had any news. I didn't know anyone else going through it in real life.

I have to say after having been calm over last few days both DS and I are on edge now. Just want to know now.

Solidarity with those still waiting! DD not heard anything and interviews due to start next Monday so we really thought she would hear today. Anxiety not helped by seeing 2 interviews for her subject and college appear on the TSR spreadsheet during the day today!! So its not we can console ourselves with the thought that no one has heard yet...

Someone she knows got an interview for same subject but at a different college last week too. Can't help feeling it's a bit mean that some students seem to get so much more time to prep for their interviews than others. Anyway, what will be will be, but I just want them to put us out of our misery one way or the other!

They are, although I'm assuming Cambridge got them a while back; ds had his interview for comp sci confirmed towards the end of last week.

DS has an online assessment tomorrow and in his words "it suddenly feels very real" ! Good luck to anyone else with DC sitting assessments this week and for those of you still waiting for news I hope it won't be much longer

My DS got an email inviting him for an interview for engineering last Friday and today another email informing it will be sometime next week. Hopefully will receive an actual date in the next few days. So proud of how far he has come through this process. Good luck to all those still waiting and those who have exams/ interviews soon.

Guinefort - don't worry, the ones who heard for tour DD's subject and college today are probably the ones who have interviews in the Monday (first day). If it's two interviews, this means 4 interviewers in total and it can be tricky to find times that suit them all, so interviews may well be in batches staggered through a given week. These tutors are also teaching etc at the moment.

Also nobody can 'impersonate' a DC (!) as they ask for ID (a passport) at the beginning and they may well have to tilt / scan the camera around the room as well.

@gingertoffee thank you 😊 that makes perfect sense. It must be a logistical nightmare trying to fit all the interviews in over the course of a week, especially for a smallish department!

@Gwenavyne, ds also interested in Chemical Engineering ((for next year). Are you able to share his experience ie did he have lots of placements etc to show interest/passion in his subject? Thanks.

Judging by the last couple of years, I think today is the day the physics offers/rejections start to trickle out.

DS still waiting to hear from Oxford. His friends applying for the same course at different colleges have already heard and he's feeling increasingly concerned. I have reassured him that this isn't a reflection on his ability, and the Student Room tracker was useful to show that his college hasn't sent out many decisions yet. We can but wait.

One of DD’s friends (who is also applying to Cambridge) got a BBB offer yesterday from Durham for Geography. I wasn’t expecting any Durham offers as understood they are notoriously later than many others and offer seems low for Durham too so thought I would share.

Durham always tend to send out contextual and international offers first and many of those arrive before Xmas.

DS is sitting his online assessment this morning (MML at C)...

Many Durham offers for UK students with no contextual flags also get sent out ahead of Christmas, in many subjects.

Azure - thinking of you very much. This was us until yesterday afternoon, when DD got interview invite. The college has FOUR days of interviews running until Thursday pm (beyond the timescale given on the subject website) and all the invites are staggered according to the respective days. So if there is nothing on TSR definitely do NOT give up hope. Good luck!
