Not sure if there is already a thread on this? My son is hoping to apply to Cambridge for Computer Science for October 2023 start.

Thanks it is.
Sorry I'm so stressed, not really clocking it.

First offer through here. AAB if gets an A in EPQ for law at Sheffield. That was his insurance place in his eyes so he's happy

DrivingDown · 24/10/2022 23:25

Later joiner to the thread.

DD decided week before UCAS due that she would apply for Oxford.

Applications in for

Oxford
Bristol x2
Edinburgh
St Andrews.

She got an offer for Bristol so she’s delighted with that.

All very stressful!

Great news. My son did his EPQ last year so has the grade in the bag, it's reduced a couple of offers from AAB to ABB.

Sounds more like a contextual offer?

bettbburg · 25/10/2022 06:49

No, those two don't do contextual offers. They drop one A to B if you have an A in the EPQ.

Codfishermen · 25/10/2022 09:44

DD is applying to O for English, has one AAA offer from Bristol and one ABB offer from Leeds because she already has an A* in EPQ. A lot of the pressure taken off as a result. Good luck everyone in the weeks ahead!

Well done to your DD. We're in the A* EPQ situation too, it's a good place to be.

I meant A* not A.

FriendlyLaundryMonster · 25/10/2022 11:15

Ds's school hasn't marked his EPQ yet, which the teacher has had for a long time. DS has done a great project and spent a lot of time on it, but not sure he'll be able to add that to UCAS now as he's already submitted his application. Does anyone know if he will be able to?

bettbburg · 25/10/2022 11:21

My ds had an error in his application and had to change an a level as there were two with identical names. He was able to log on and change it but also phoned UCAS who advised him to email the universities he'd applied two, maybe it's the same with adding the EPQ.

I'd phone UCAS to check.

Off the blocks with a BBB offer for MBiology at Newcastle

mumsneedwine · 25/10/2022 12:35

@FriendlyLaundryMonster EPQ should be on there with a school predicted grade if not sat yet.

That's a good offer.

Karwomannghia · 25/10/2022 14:04

My ds has an interview at manchester too!

FriendlyLaundryMonster · 25/10/2022 14:30

mumsneedwine Apparently his school doesn't do predicted grades for the EPQ. Gah! So, I'm told it's on UCAS with grade 'pending'.

That’s fine. They will give an offer along the lines of AAA or AAB if a grade A or above is achieved at EPQ

FriendlyLaundryMonster · 25/10/2022 15:52

Era Thank you. That's useful to know.

AffronttoBS · 25/10/2022 16:38

First offer is ABB from birmingham for chemistry. It’s lower than the standard entry requirement stated. What could be the rationale for that?

DD got offers similar (not from Brum)

In my book it is a huge compliment as it appears to mean they believe the candidate more than capable...
