Thought I would start a new thread as its likely to fill up quick now.

So here we are after many months of applications, assessments and interviews. The wait is finally over for those with DC who have applied to Oxford. Those with Cambridge applicants have another 2 weeks to wait until the 25th Jan (bummer!!)

You have all been a lovely bunch to share this journey with and I wish your dc nothing but the BEST OF LUCK for tomorrow (and the 25th). Flowers

Wow @ladygrinningcat! Brilliant stuff 👏

Chilldonaldchill · 25/01/2022 10:02

@Decafcoffee

So out of interest so you think there’s a method to this..? Yeses first then nos? Or completely random? Sorry my mind is going in circles. Will be a long day indeed Confused
I think there truly isn't. Each college sends them in their own time I think. Congratulations to those with yeses!
ealingwestmum · 25/01/2022 10:04

We have a no here :(

Letsgoforaskip · 25/01/2022 10:05

Congratulations @badasscafe1 and @ladygrinningsoul ! 🎉🙌🏼
My thoughts are with you all today. It is nerve wracking however much we all know how brilliant these young people are and how well they’ll do wherever they go!

ealingwestmum · 25/01/2022 10:06

DD is fine, very matter of fact but ok. Hang in there everyone, fingers crossed for you all.

cosmiccat · 25/01/2022 10:06

DD has an offer too for maths at her chosen college. I burst into tears when she said. Another hurdle gone just A levels and the dreaded STEP to pass.

doubleshotcappuccino · 25/01/2022 10:09

@ealingwestmum I'm really sorry to hear that .. you've been such a great support to us all and I'm sure that energy will stand your DC in good stead wherever they go - wishing you the very best xxxx

Letsgoforaskip · 25/01/2022 10:10

@ealingwestmum I’m so sorry to hear that. My DD was ‘redirected’ after interview 2 years ago and it was hard to see her disappointment. It was the first time that working hard hadn’t achieved her aim. She’s now very happy elsewhere.

Valleyofthedollymix · 25/01/2022 10:12

@ealingwestmum many congrats to your daughter for giving it a go and please let her know that it's not a flawless process - she's just as bright and hardworking today as she was yesterday. And thanks for posting - it's really generous of you as sometimes it can feel as if everyone's child has an offer.

HoneyMobster · 25/01/2022 10:19

@ealingwestmum - sorry to hear your news. Big hugs to you and your lovely DD.

Horace123 · 25/01/2022 10:23

@ealingwestmum sorry it's the not the news you hoped for but pleased DD seems to be taking it in her stride. You have been so supportive to the rest of us I feel very invested in your DD - from memory she has other offers she's happy with?

Piggywaspushed · 25/01/2022 10:28

It's a no for Piggy Jr. He just sent me a Whatsapp.

@ealingwestmum - sorry to read your update. Your lovely DD has a very bright future ahead of her. Hugs.

Letsgoforaskip · 25/01/2022 10:34

So sorry @Piggywaspushed.
Congratulations @cosmiccat.

Panicmode1 · 25/01/2022 10:35

So sorry to hear about the nos 😔 but very well done to the offer holders.

Still nothing here....he's now in his test so won't hear until at least 11.30....

HoneyMobster · 25/01/2022 10:38

@Piggywaspushed ☹️ - really hoped it would be a yes for your DS.

Valleyofthedollymix · 25/01/2022 10:42

It's a no for DS too. He says he's fine about it, which I think he probably is. I'm really proud of him for giving it a go and for his attitude throughout. I think St Andrews will be better for him in many ways and takes the pressure off A levels a little bit.

But well done to those that do get in and I hope they have a fabulous time!

MFLMum2022 · 25/01/2022 10:43

@ealingwestmum, @Piggywaspushed, really sorry to hear your news. You have both been so helpful and supportive on these threads and I’d hoped it would end in good news for you.

Congratulations to those with offers and hope the news comes in soon for those still waiting.

HoneyMobster · 25/01/2022 10:43

@Valleyofthedollymix ☹️ but St Andrews will be amazing. He must watch Chariots of Fire before he goes...

ealingwestmum · 25/01/2022 10:44

At the same college they were clearly not meant to be. Sorry to hear he didn’t get an offer Piggy.

You are all lovely, thank you so much. Right now Canada is beckoning so all good. I just need to find some flights to Montreal in the next month now so we can work out if it’s the place for her.

ProggyMat · 25/01/2022 10:46

@Piggywaspushed sorry to hear your DSs news, too. Hugs to you both

ealingwestmum · 25/01/2022 10:46

Valleyofthedollymix here’s to St Andrew’s!

Genegenieee · 25/01/2022 10:48

Sorry to hear @Piggywaspushed and @ealingwestmum @Valleyofthedollymix - wishing your DC all the best

Congrats to all getting offers. @cosmiccat v pleased for your DD!
