Previous thread - Obvs the end of term is looming sooner for some than for others? I guess the Oxbridge posse will finish by the end of November or just into December?

Yep. Dd is a 1.

Ragwort · 09/12/2019 21:06

When DS came home for a weekend recently he said ‘the house is like a show home’ (it really isn’t Grin ) but DH and I don’t leave clothes, towels, debris etc just lying around all the time Hmm).

Looking forward to seeing him of course, but not to sharing the car again, although it will probably do me good to do more walking.

Benjispruce · 09/12/2019 21:18

None of those are DD either.

Trewser · 09/12/2019 21:32

Actually thats a bit mean. She's not completely a 1. She has 1 tendencies.

Ginfordinner · 09/12/2019 22:06

DD isn't any of those categories. Thinking about it she does have some characteristics of 5, 7, 11 and 12 though.

justasking111 · 09/12/2019 22:15

thanks for the quiz went down a bit of a rabbit hole clicking on links Grin

Shimy · 09/12/2019 22:28

The closest to DS is 11. He doesn’t play cards, nor drink whatever the drink was in the link.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/12/2019 06:40

DS is closest to being an 11 but it's far from him really. Funny how geography doesn't feature at all in the list of subjects!

We also have a goodie cupboard the adult children he and the grand children raid. That contains a mixed bag, crisps, crackers, jaffa cakes, various biscuits at different times. Since he went to uni. it has been a shadow of its former self. We have one of those too @justasking111 and I'm with you on it needing less replenishing than usual. We call it the 'tat' cupboard. I've just noticed generally with food that I've needed to restock much less.

Oh dear - 2 and 11 for DS.
I recognise a number of traits!

Trewser · 10/12/2019 07:19

I've read it again and dd is a mix of 1 and the hockey girl. Funny, I've sent it to her.

blametheparents · 10/12/2019 07:43

I will need to add Scotch eggs and peanut butter back to the shopping list for when DS comes home! Not needed those items for a while.
I try not to order peanut butter when he's not here cos I've got a bad habit of eating it straight from the jar and I am trying to lose weight.

ZandathePanda · 10/12/2019 09:09

Dd has requested fresh fruit and veg! Also humus and eggs. And ‘nice’ bread.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 10/12/2019 09:10

I'd say a mix of 7 and 12 which makes DD sound way duller than she actually is Grin

She's certainly more diligent than some of her friends, apparently a lot have already gone home and have just binned off the last few lectures (mainly pop ins but still - not something DD could bring herself to do).

I think her flatmates in generally are getting that last week of term fever and are all a bit grumpy with each other. She's still having issues with food going missing (tends to occur in the middle of the night - drunken eating) we're trying to tell her that it's all part of communal living but we all know it's not on.

But all that aside, she's having a good time, she's had some stuff published for the student magazine, has a job as a student ambassador (those students that show people around on open days - free hoodie!) has plans for accommodation next year with one of her friends and is enjoying her course.

If you'd have asked me what I wanted for her this time last year, that ticks every single box.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/12/2019 10:16

I try not to order peanut butter when he's not here cos I've got a bad habit of eating it straight from the jar and I am trying to lose weight. I used to be the same with Nutella Blush

OP posts:
blametheparents · 10/12/2019 10:49

NewModel - I do it with Nutella too! I've also stopped buying that! Grin

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/12/2019 11:15

I'm with you on that one too @blametheparents!!!!

DS has a geography exam today and then it's the wind down until Friday and home.

Idly wondering whether we can fill this thread up by Friday, so we can do a tinseltastic 'home for Christmas' one.Xmas Grin

I'll add a message to help!

DS has a maths exam today and then it's a bit of a wind down until Friday.

In line with his Number 2 sterotype he has rugby tomorrow! Grin

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/12/2019 12:00

Thanks @blametheparents!

In the spirit of fillet he thread pre Christmas! DD2 home Sunday (splitting the journey as it’s too far to Liverpool and back in 1 day). Really looking forward to having her home but conscious she may well have grown in ways I’m unaware of and there’ll be a period of adjustment for us all. DD1 home from her masters on Friday so the nest will be full again and we can get the house decorated for Christmas - not allowed to do the tree till both here!

Numbersarefun · 10/12/2019 13:14

I’ll add another post. DD came home on Saturday. Decorations are now up and she has started the Sainsbury’s order for Christmas. She has reverted to type and started cooking the evening meals again!! Today she’s gone to do a bit of Christmas shopping, is going into her old sixth form and meeting a friend to do some work (uni - not paying). Tonight she wants picking up from dancing! All very normal.

My Bristol returnees (the twins) finish on 20 and will be home on 20th or 21s - very very late (but they are not first years; but even so even first years there finish late). It is certainly giving more time to sort things out for Christmas before they are back. Our tree goes up on Friday.

Benjispruce · 10/12/2019 15:53

DD 2 is in the middle of gcse mocks and could do with DD1 staying away until 20/12 as she is noisy whether it’s listening to music or podcasts.I am regularly saying turn it down, something I never have to say to DD2 .
