Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

They generally come in at about 12 points, but no mention of sizes.

I would go with yours, if I were you

DreamsInBinary · 24/03/2010 18:48

(I checked five Toby Carvery/Harvester type places)

DreamsInBinary · 24/03/2010 18:50

Hmm, but agree that the tracker says 7 for gammon & pineapple

Maybe carvery-type places serve huge portions?

DreamsInBinary · 24/03/2010 18:51

Or perhaps (more likely) the Eating Out book includes whatever the meal is served with (veg, chips etc.)

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2010 18:54

Well done on the pre-calculating Vinny!

I am watching supersize vs superskinny on 4OD, and drinking vodka tomato juice.

NormaSknockers · 24/03/2010 18:55

It's about 1.5 points per 60g slice of gammon if that helps?

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2010 18:57

Oh, and we've finally got the paper /card/ribbon invitation for SIL's wedding, it's a proper old fashioned one:

Mr Cecil Niggleswade & Mrs Cecilia Biggleswade
invite you to celebrate the wedding of their daughter
Celine
to Mr Humphrey Bogart Dean
blah blah blah

all in curly writing
(not real names of course)

DidEinsteinsMum · 24/03/2010 19:04

jetcat · 24/03/2010 19:13

Have a good evening folks. i now need to go do bed time murder and then get back to work.

BitOfFun · 24/03/2010 19:41

I don't remember a homeopathy post?

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 24/03/2010 19:41

On the subject of supersize vs superskinny, I bought a 10 kilo bag of onions from the grocer on the way home from work on Monday, and carrying it up the stairs (2nd floor flat) I thought 'it must be hard work to be heavy'.

Can some of the -50 club (Jet, Sazz?) tell me if everything in life seems physically easier now?

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2010 19:43

BoF - that'd be cos it was a randomly revived thread that I saw today and you posted on in 2008!

here

FiveGoMadInDorset · 24/03/2010 19:43

Oh Bum put on a 1.5 lbs, back to the drawing board.

dawntigga · 24/03/2010 19:46

Famous ham samidge was swapped for not as famous pork samidge.

Bof well done on getting the pouffe back in order

shiney well done, there are quite a few nice guys out there!

DEM if you'd asked me at 0300 this morning I'd have swapped The Cub for a puppy!

Had nice salmon, salad and spuds.

Managed to go all the way round the shops without buying chocolate. I could do this healthy eating malarky when preggers but have majorly fallen off the wagon recently

Things to do tomorrow:

collect package from Amazon that the waste of skin posty didn't even bother knocking/ringing the bell for!
dog to vets
tame the iron mountain

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2010 19:47

dawntigga · 24/03/2010 19:49
