Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

Good for you, Shiney. You are worth more than some tosspot like that. Waaay more.

Bella, could you have paracetomol now and then ibuprofen before bed?

Alice, sorry about your DD, I have been there, just so you don't feel like you are only Mother to want to run out of the house screaming as you've raised a demon child. It is just her age, she will grow out of it, luckily she is now old enough to start seeing that her actions have consequences, so she will soon learn that tantrums and meltdowns like that won't get her far and will lead to sanctions. It's shit isn't it?
You feel like you are the only one going through it and you are tired and pg as well, not long till bedtime, anyway.

NormaSknockers · 24/03/2010 17:37

Oh Bella you poor thing that doesn't sound pleasent at all

Sounds like a good email Shiney, let's see if it makes him realise he is a prize prat what he said was out of order!

Lizzylou · 24/03/2010 17:37

Oh, I won't see any money in my pocket for a while, but at least we are now profitable instead of covering costs. For now.
Need to make sure it stays that way now!

I am having a G&T

NormaSknockers · 24/03/2010 17:38

Sazz are you having to fish the poo out with a soap dish?

NormaSknockers · 24/03/2010 17:39

Now you can class it as one of your 5 a day

Lizzylou · 24/03/2010 17:40

I like your thinking, lovely Norma

I will never look at a soap dish again in the same light!

I could get used to being stroked

Nice! She's keeping you on your toes tonight eh?

BitOfFun · 24/03/2010 17:56

I use a fish-tank cleaning net. Plastic sieves work well too- just don't ever take it back down to the kitchen

I should become a Poo Consultant- it is clearly my vocation...

Hey Sazz - what train were you thinking of getting back from Manchester? There are engineering works and I was hoping you could inspire me! Or think of another route. Or something!

I am doing excellent on my diet, have saved some points so i can have a vodka tonight

Going out for lunch tomorrow and have already been on the restaurant website and calculated the points for the meal i have chosen (Gammon with pineapple and salad)

DreamsInBinary · 24/03/2010 18:35

VT (and any other WW's) I have the 'Eat Out' book, so if you ever need me to look anything up - just shout.

I just looked up my lunch. A Chef's Salad from ASK is TEN POINTS. Agghhhhh

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 24/03/2010 18:36

Can you look up gammon steak DIB, the WW tracker says its 7 points

DreamsInBinary · 24/03/2010 18:37

Certainly can - which restaurant?

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 24/03/2010 18:44

Its a hotel DIB, and not a chain restaurant so probably wont be in there, can you just check for pub style gammon?
