Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

Hello Beth, of course you can join, welcome

I have have pringles, they are the work of the devil

DreamsInBinary · 20/03/2010 20:24

Hello Beth

My tummy has been making that funny rumbling feeling all day, but I think I like it. The occasional murderous desire for a doughnut is less good.

Lizzylou · 20/03/2010 20:26

Welcome Beth

I am drinking wine and chatting to DH, which is nice as we have hardly seen each other all week.
Am off to gym tomorrow morning.

Have good night's y'all

DIB - Enjoy your wine!
Hells - my DS2 was the same, teased us until he was 15mths, could walk, just realised that it was easier to get us to do his bidding, nowts changed.

Vinny - that is a lovely car, the repayments are way cheaper and red is a good colour (you obv like red!), don't be such a bird

Shiney - he will love you, what is not to like? You are attractive, clever, witty and love penguins.

Yank, agree with bella just eat veg, no need to starve, esp as you are breastfeeding.

Goober, well done on the coat

BOF, great thread title

Right, off to pay attention to DH.

BethAndHerBrood · 20/03/2010 20:49

Oh god, you're not a spitter, are you?? Much better to swallow, you'll ruin your laptop.

bellavita · 20/03/2010 20:52

Hi Beth

Rather fine looking knob there...

Goobs, I bought

Make up - urban decay lip gloss and a ruby and millie eye pencil/shadow

A Coast skirt (in the sale), a dress of some new label in Fenwicks.

2 dinky cardies from Fat Face - one to go with said dress and the other to go with jeans.

Nearly bought a gorgeous jumper in Karen Millen but they only had one in my size, it had a snag in it.

I am pleased with what I bought.

Ooops, sorry, did you want me to buy you something too

VinegarPatronSTofTits · 20/03/2010 20:58

Oooh, I like strict.

YanknCock · 20/03/2010 21:23

I have finished my housekeeping on the other thread with some assistance (thanks VT and Beth)

Mitts, you can chat to him whenever you like....now, months in the future, not a problem. Add him on FB if you like, he's JW on mine but make sure you pick the one with the bloke holding a baby...the other is high school boy! (arrgggh, my eyes, you got me! I am usually good at avoiding TWC!)

Beth, a proper 'welcome' to the thread! DS is ok, but ill for the first time. Ear infection, snotty nose, fever. We are not enjoying it. How's your DS?

Goober, good job resisting the sausage roll. Falafel is wonderful. I found a mix in tesco so I can make them very quickly.

It's all about damage limitation. Don't wait till tomorrow, Monday, next week, start NOW with the healthy eating. No excuses.

Still have not eaten anything. There are courgettes in fridge but I don't want them.

jetcat · 20/03/2010 21:24

hi all, i am jet, always lagging behind everyone else re posting on old threads and joining new ones

lost about 50lbs, with about the same to lose - coming off very slowly but at least its coming off

Sorry i havent been around much, my pa has just given me her notice, and although i have had issues with her, they were kind of sorted out (thanks in no part to kicks up the ass friendly encouragement from you guys). So now i am in a major panic at the thought of finding someone new and getting to know them all over again, or simply packing the whole thing in. Am very very and and actually somwehat worried about how i will cope either way....

look at me waffling on - this is why i havent been posting much over the past day or so - as i knew once i started i wouldnt stop

BitOfFun · 20/03/2010 21:24

Just for you, MumGoneCrazy...

DreamsInBinary · 20/03/2010 21:25

Where's Trills?

YanknCock · 20/03/2010 21:26

If I have that 250ml bottle of WW wine in the fridge on an empty stomach, will it be like having real wine?

BethAndHerBrood · 20/03/2010 21:28

No, it will still taste like cat wee!!

DreamsInBinary · 20/03/2010 21:31

But the empty stomach means you can go out and get a bottle of full-fat decent stuff, doesn't it?!

I am feeling hungry a bit pissed, because I've only eaten 8.5 points today, and am well on my way to drinking the rest

iggi999 · 20/03/2010 21:31

Hello. Nice to find a new threat. Like the new start I need to have tomorrow after a couple of days of excess! Today I found (in Holland and Barrat) some chewy sweets and jelly beans that are vegetarian - I haven't eaten sweets like that in years and am afraid have scoffed almost the lot.
May be back for more tomorrow..
Going to a pilates class tomorrow as favour for a friend, wonder what on earth that will be like.
Goober it's lovely when something doesn't quite fit any more, for reasons of excess fabric!
