For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Evening veggers

SB sorry about the shingles, I hope it isn;t too painful?

Lemur, glad you had a good day.

Hello everyone else

Right, bootcamp starts Monday

Have actually been v. focussed while away. Ate huge salads at almost every meal and lots of fruit.

Went blackberrying yesterday

Today have packed up, unpacked, gone to work, and packed again as going to see family for the weekend

Boco · 31/07/2009 23:22

Poor you SB! My friend in London has shingles and swine flu at the same time and I'm getting some very miserable phone calls from her - is on her head and face too.

We've spent evening in A&E as dd2 has broken her wrist falling from the top of a climbing frame. Was working at a playscheme and it was right at the end of the last day with everything having run smoothly and been brilliant. She did daring leap from top to the monkey bars and fell - and it came up with huge egg lump and she went into shock, which was weird, she didn't cry, just went very pale and said she'd like a little sleep. She's going to have to wear a cast for 4 - 6 weeks.

Back to hospital in the morning. Food a bit rubbish this week which is why i've not been around.

SuperBunny · 01/08/2009 11:44

Poor DD, Boco. She's had a tough year, hasn't she?

DS threw up in his car seat this morning and is very hot but bouncing around and seems ok. I have to work out how to clean the velcro bits on the car seat without it making me gip but it's making me feel ill so I have left it by the back door in the hope that some fairies will come and sort it out for me.

littlerach · 01/08/2009 12:28

Oh poor dd2, Boco.

And ds, SB.

Our bath is being fitted as I type - woohoo!
WE have been to a friend's to use her bath.
And dh has painted the walls white and light grey, looks v nice.
(It did have black tiles all over, and orange pine cladding ).
And, have found someone ot put the shower in.

We have ILs and my family coming tomorrow and I have been trying to cook/preaore food. So we are haing a BBQ and I have made a crumble and a pineapple updsie down cake.
Fingers crossed it doesn;t rain.

Most meals are centred round courgettes heer!
And my mum made courgette chutney which is delicious.

Hello

I used to post here a lot. I have just read all of this installement and am going to try posting again.

Have discovered mollyroger and I possibly share a FB friend or at least have a connection.

Have been doing good running. Did coach to 5k training for the rfl and am considering a 10k race in September. Have been getting graze boxes once a week. Have drastically cut down sweet consumption - is proving good for weight and teeth.

Children eating much more fruit -they have finally caught onto it being the snack of choice

um today I have had apple juice. And muesli with raisins. Will hopefully go running later.

TooTicky · 01/08/2009 16:26

IdrisTheDragon · 01/08/2009 17:45

Hello TooT

How are you? How was your holiday? How is your F&V consumption?

TooTicky · 01/08/2009 18:00

Hello Idris.
I am thinking of running away and becoming an Exmoor pony.
Which can only improve my f&v consumption.
Although, typically, on my week-with-no-puter, I ate lots. Sigh.
How are you?

IdrisTheDragon · 01/08/2009 18:02

I am having an rare burst of tidying in a large way. Has been helped by us hiring a van to get a sofa from freecycle and then using said van to get all the junk out of our house.

Am getting more exercise and eating less sugar which is good for general well being. Still going to sleep too late though.

Read your other thread and if no one minds will do some discrete

TooTicky · 01/08/2009 18:18

Oooh, dragon hugs

TooTicky · 01/08/2009 18:21

Can you not just breathe fire on the stuff you don't want?
We need to de-clutter.
Trouble is, nobody cares about their stuff until I threaten to get rid of it, when they hug it close for 10 minutes or so then drop it on the floor again

littlerach · 01/08/2009 19:39

You've been busy LR.

TigerFeet · 01/08/2009 19:46

I have cherries. I may well graze on them later.

Hurrah for the bath LR
How are you feeling Bunny?
TooT it is me that can't part with anything in this house. We've been decluttering a lot recently and it was really difficult for me to get rid of anythign.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/08/2009 19:47

Welcome back Toot. How was your holiday?

Idris, I don't think we've been on this thread at the same time, but I defo recognise your name. So, hello

Banana
cucumber
carrots
grapes
strawberries
raspberries

I have no idea what is for dinner, so there may be some more f&V to add later.

Baby Lemur and I have been to see my family while dh has been working on the house. My niece and nephew adore ds, it's lovely to see as I love them all dearly

Two weeks and counting until we go on holiday - hurrah!

pinkspottywellies · 01/08/2009 19:59

Idris you're back! Are we fb friends? Molly is a namechanger, well new name.

TooT! Good to see you back! Where did you go?

Bacon Sandwiches
Birthday Cake
Gnocci
Sausage Roll

Oh hell. I need boot camp.

IdrisTheDragon · 01/08/2009 20:38

We are facebook friends pink . I have initials KT.

I got bored of ComparingMeerkats and moved on to being LovelyRitaMeterMaid before coming back to my roots so to speak.

Went out with the intention of a four mile run. It started to rain. I pushed on. It turned into a monsoon. I squelched on. Had to stop to empty water out of my trainers.

Was probably about a 2 mile run, if that.

DH ran me a nice bath when I got back

FrayedKnot · 01/08/2009 22:02

(that was for TooT)

TooTicky · 02/08/2009 01:54

Went to Dunster and paddled in the sea and met wild ponies and stuff.
Oh, ds1 caught (and released) a couple of stonking crabs.
Dd2 has brought home a stone "hamster" which she found on the beach. She has named him Bouncy-wouncy Swimmy-wimmy.

Hummous.
Cucumber'n'tomato.
Crystallised ginger.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/08/2009 09:06

lol @ the "hamster" and his fab name!

Glad you had a good holiday Toot

littlerach · 02/08/2009 10:24

Oh it is just under 2 weeks til we go on holiday too, Lemur

TooTicky · 02/08/2009 10:58

Where are you going LR? Should I know?

SuperBunny · 02/08/2009 11:44

Well done on the crab catching. We always go crabbing in Norfolk and catch (and release) hundreds. We didn't get any here

TooTicky · 02/08/2009 18:37
