For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Mayor I came back and posted a long and rambly post for your entertainment last night then MN ate it and my tinternet disappeared and wouldn't come back so I took that as my cue to go to bed. Hope you're feeling less tired today

littlerach · 28/07/2009 09:57

well the bathroom has been plastered.

But....
Th eplasterer dropped a tool in the bath and it has left a hole and we have no shower either
And dh is away

And there is dust everywhere.

But the walls look nice

There is nowhere to buy a bath round here, they all have ot be ordered in and take 2 weeks. My mum is ocming tomorrow for 2 days, then the ILs at the weekend.

we are now hoping that plastere friend (who was mortified)can beg a few favours and find a bath today.

Isn't there a B&Q somewhere nearby Rach? Or do you have a strange shaped bath? I have visions of a mini spa with candles and champagne flutes

TigerFeet · 28/07/2009 11:41

Oh Bunny how horrible for you

Hope it's not too bad.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/07/2009 12:26

I am always broody, but def not broody enough to have another one ........ yet Baby Lemur is 10mo going 2yo. The tantrums leave me looking like this

Oh no Bunny. Shingles is often stress related isn't it? You have been through a lot recently. Take care of yourself.

Hope you get a bath soon LR!

littlerach · 28/07/2009 16:36

Bunny, my sister has that too

Yep, there's a B&Q here, but they didn't have nay in stock

Friend has a friend in plumbing trade and has tracked down a bath the same so fingers crossed they'll do it tomorrow or thuersday.

WE've been to a freind's for lunch and had delicious raosted butternut squash and filo pastries filled with veg. Lovely.

DD bit DS today

SuperBunny · 28/07/2009 20:26

Oh no, Pink. Is he ok?

I wouldn't be so bad if it weren't on my face . DS looked at my nose tonight and said, "I don't like that" Neither do I. It hurts. It's on my eye and my head and I can't brush my hair and I look shit and I feel shit and I have a bouncing 3 yr old to entertain all by myself. Ugh. Sorry for the self-pity.

Juice
Peas
Baked beans
Calamine
Veg pie

pinkspottywellies · 28/07/2009 20:39

SB you poor thing. I guess your immune system is getting reaquainted with British Bugs!!

DS is ok. She bit his finger and very nearly broke the skin. Left a bit of a dent for a while but it's ok now. I'm gutted though

Rubbish f&v day but I am alive and so are my children and that is impressive at the moment! My friend came to rescue me today. I had a sleep this afternoon.

Feel very wobbly atm. Going to bed in a minute.

Hope you had a good nights rest Pink.

Are you still with your sister SB?

SuperBunny · 29/07/2009 09:29

Yes, still with sister. It's hard to get a flat when you have no income or proof of a job. Am looking at a lovely seafront flat this morning. Not sure why since it is unaffordable but then no flat is affordable here.

No F&V. No exercise. I did walk a lot yesterday though.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 29/07/2009 09:33

Shouldn't you be taking things easy SB? Well, as easy as you can with a little 'un

Sounds like Catch 22 with the flat. Does your new job start in Sept? Can they help with vouching for you in the meantime?

jodie87 · 29/07/2009 13:59

I'm still not managing to get back fully on the wagon.

Have managed a Banana today.

Any tips?

TigerFeet · 29/07/2009 15:43

Hello Jodie! When are you due? I hope you have a good pregnancy. You're making us all feel old, to have a grandmother in our midst . I think TooT is younger than me as well [sob]

Pink I got your text, I'll have to FB you or something tonight when I get home, Mum is here looking after dd and I think she wants to stay until the weekend, I'll find out tonight and let you know

Hope you're on the mend Bunny

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 29/07/2009 16:09

Hi Ninja, have you been on here before? I don't recognise you, but I only joined in Jan.

My tips would be to add fruit to your breakfast, eat raw veg with humous for lunch, then at dinnertime cut down on the amount of potatoes and have another veg. Also if you have a dessert like strawberries and cream, or crumble that easily adds another portion, and you're having a dessert. Good times

TigerFeet · 29/07/2009 16:26

Apple crumble

A marvellous way to increase one's f&v intake

I thoroughly recommend it

Also, grazing on fruit through the day instead of biscuits

I wish I could take my own advice atm [eyes digestive]
