For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 26/07/2009 19:56

Sounds like you had a great time Mayor

banana
olives
peppers
onions
peas
cauliflower
carrots
strawberries

Had a lovely day at the IL's. MIL fussed over ds all afternoon. He was loving it

pointydog · 26/07/2009 22:14

rock on, mayor, you crazy dude

nectarine
orange juice
2 bowls of leek & potato soup (2? I dunno)
banana bread (0.2)
some stewed rhubarb
then a big portion of rhubarb crumble (2 - I cooked a lorra lorra rhubarb)

6.2

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 27/07/2009 10:40

6.2?

That's very precise Pointy

pointydog · 27/07/2009 10:45

yes, I don't like to miss out the banana bread as I did pack a whole load of banana in there.

littlerach · 27/07/2009 10:50

Impressive calculatins Pointy

Mayor, sounds like a good weekend and

We are having our bathroom plastered by a friend otday so house is covered in dust

dds have cleared out their hoards of paper and crap sentimental value stuff

I have now harvetsed 24 green courgettes and 8 yellow ones.

I don't think I like them anymore

I have been handing them ot anyone who comes round

TigerFeet · 27/07/2009 11:27

How many 0.2's can I have for half a dozen jaffa cakes?

Back to work today after a week off, my Mum is here to look after dd. She has plans for my boiled beetroot. I await the results with trepidation.

"me all rocked out Mummy" made me grin

That's a lot of courgettes LR. It's almost worth the long schlep down sarf to come and get some from you!

pointydog · 27/07/2009 12:06

0.2s only allowed in home-made goods where f&v content can be confirmed . I feel franny would agree. If not she can come and do some rollicking. I feel a little disappointed she didn't notice the pickled beetroot faux-pas. She must have been distracted.

Do let me know what your mother does with teh beets, tiger

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 27/07/2009 18:40

It can't be long until your ML starts can it TF?

banana
blueberries
cauliflower
carrots
satsumas
plums
roasted veg (2 portions)
nakd bar
strawberries

10 f&v is much easier when there is lots of lovely soft fruit around

SuperBunny · 27/07/2009 20:38

lol @ pointy's decimals.

Toot - a grandma? wow

TigerFeet · 27/07/2009 20:40

I left Mum in the house with no key so she was stuck in all day so the beetroot remains uneaten

I think I might whip up a balsamic dressing and have it for lunch tomorrow.

13th August Lemur I've been reading your birth story thread, I love a good birth story.

peas
sweetcorn

erm, that's about it. I may well push the boat out and have a nectarine later, you never know.

MayorNaze · 27/07/2009 21:15

strawberry and banana smoothie
green beans
peas
brocolli
leeks

not many then...

need to go to allotment tomorrow haven't been for over a week. probably there will just be a mahoosive courgette where the ground used to be

come and chat to me, dh is watching something about robert mugabe so i have had to go somewhere more cheerful...

TigerFeet · 27/07/2009 21:19

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/07/2009 07:36

Toot a grandma? Have I missed something???

Hurrah for ML Tiger I'm glad you like the birth stories thread. There's nothing like it for getting the hormones flowing.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/07/2009 07:39

I have just re-read the thread and have seen the bit about Toot is going to be a step-grandma.

How exciting! I bet you didn't expect to be a granny at such a tender age! This will now give you an excuse to behave all barmy and pass on lots of ancient and outdated parenting tips
