For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

pinkspottywellies · 17/07/2009 20:29

Ooh SB I think you'll be very near my mum if I've got the right blue rinse beach town. We'll can meet up when I visit!! Congrats on the job

I've been a VERY good vegger today. Banana, apple, pear, peach, raisins, beetroot, cucumber, tomato, celery, radishes, lettuce, cabbage. Good 8 or so and I haven't had proper dinner yet!

Mayor, I will join in your tortilla masterclass please! Are they easy to make?

moliereroger · 17/07/2009 20:31

100! our mutual friend and I bonded over chnmpagne today, were your ears burning...?

Very emotional and wonderful day today. The heavens opened as we all wept and blubbered over our babies departing primary school. Incredibly moving leavers' service and we mothers sat in a cafe bar for 3 hours and drank champagne and hugged and reminisced.

ds and his friends charmed free ice cream at the pizza place and have now gone for a mass sleepover.

F&V - er, olives?

SuperBunny · 17/07/2009 21:20

What a big day, Molly.

Ooo, Pink. Let me know when you are visiting!

FrayedKnot · 17/07/2009 21:36

Ooh, Nature Detectives pack coming next week!

I'd forgetten all about it, Franny, if you are lurking

pinkspottywellies · 17/07/2009 21:52

Ooh yes I meant to say, I got the nature detectives pack today! It's fab! Bit old for DD so might save bits of it but there's loads of lovely stuff in there!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/07/2009 21:56

banana
blueberries
apple
olives
carrots
tomatoes
onion
kidney beans

Quick post as laptop is going so slow it's bloody painful.

pointydog · 17/07/2009 21:58

k-not, the mayo was a hit! even dh has been eating it. I felt very wholesome and domestic. And I had made notes on the book so I could do more than remember three intertsing sentences while being very annoying

SuperBunny · 17/07/2009 22:16

We got our nature detectives thing too - thanks Franny! Too old for DS but I'm sure he will love the pictures and the stickers.

pointydog · 17/07/2009 22:17

what are the nature detectives?

Guadalupe · 17/07/2009 22:43

It's not black glass, it's green, (unless I did the link wrong) and I wouldn't be having green anyway, there are a whole range of colours. I would probably choose a very neutral one. Thanks for advice, I will have a look at that link, 100.

Just been to Harry Potter with dcs and it was so hot as AC was broken. I thought I was going to pass out. I was very dramatic and had them fetch me iced water and got free tickets. A lot of people got free tickets when they complained. It was quite grim.

Guadalupe · 17/07/2009 22:47

There is something rustling in the corner.

ABitWrong · 17/07/2009 22:49

what sort of something?

Guadalupe · 17/07/2009 23:02

Something with rustley powers.

This is not the first night I have heard it, and there are ants, and fruitflies. I am infested.

pointydog · 17/07/2009 23:03

oh a neutrally glass woul dbe nice

ABitWrong · 17/07/2009 23:05

personally infested? [curious]

what size rustling? Mouse? Poodle? Lion?

Guadalupe · 17/07/2009 23:12

Mammoth or mouse probably.

I have a sore throat. I think it is worse after all the coughing people in the cinema, prime place to catch something.

Ds1 brought a letter home yesterday saying there was a case in the school and that it was fine if we wanted to keep them off. Ds said half his class were away but they all materialised in the park after school.

ABitWrong · 17/07/2009 23:23

Well parks have fresh air to blow the germs away.

Ds1 was off school all week but with a stomach upset that took a lot of recovering from.

Good luck with your mammoth/mouse. Do you have a humane mammoth trap?

MayorNaze · 18/07/2009 11:05

hi diddly ho veggerinos!

how are we today?

orange juice
melon
grapes

and walked 40 mins to work

anyone making any mayo today then??

Guadalupe · 18/07/2009 14:22

No humane trap, no. I am inclined not to think about it atm seen as I am leaving soon.

Speaking of packing we are going camping for A WEEK tomorrow and it couldn't be worse timing with the house really. We booked it in April assuming we would be in by now. We can't change the week and anyway dcs are very excited as lots of their friends will be there at the same time, and they have made lots of crabbing/mudfight/treehouse plans.

It will be nice to get away. I love North Norfolk and a bit of stomping on the marsh and eating samphire and getting drunk round the fire will do me good. I have made rhubarb AND blackcurrent vodka this year.

pineapple
raspberries
tomatoes
peppers
lettuce
apple
orange juice

Guadalupe · 18/07/2009 14:24

ooh, and EDF have finally been to move our electricity. Hooray. Now we can actually move in, lots of little bits to do but we're nearly there.

SuperBunny · 18/07/2009 18:40

Are you going to stiffkey guad? I wanted to go but they are booked up til September. So, we'll go in May half-term next year.

Strawberries (2)
raspberries (2)
blueberries

curry on its way

Guadalupe · 18/07/2009 18:57

Yes, we booked it in April. You can sometimes ring on the day and get cancellations though?

I am having superior fishfinger sandwiches for dinner.

FrayedKnot · 18/07/2009 21:25

Dried fruit
Apple
Cucumber
Tomato
Veg curry inc spinach, cauli, peas, aubergine
Raspberries
Pineapple
Hoummous
Juice

Better than I thought

SuperBunny · 18/07/2009 23:04

It's a bit far for a last minute cancellation, Guad. Plus half my camping gear is in the home counties and I am not. I am going to spend a week at my mum's house in deepest darkest dorset instead.

veg korma
Onion Bhaji
mushrooms
mushroom & tomato sarnie
more raspberries

I reckon I got 10 today. Just about.
