For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Forgot to list yesterday:

banana x2
dried fruit
apple juice
humous

Wishing you all the best TF, remember the numbers are on your side.

Glad to hear you are feeling better Boco.

I read an article years ago that said Spring and Autumn are the hardest times on your body because of the constant temperature change (for example yesterday I seemed to be constantly putting my jumper on, then taking it off again an hour later). After reading that I did notice that I got the vast majority of my coughs and colds in Spring in Autumn.

Sorry to hear that SB, do you think it's true?

littlerach · 09/04/2009 12:49

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 09/04/2009 17:42

Hope you feel better soon Nicky, it's a pita when ailments linger. They're not quite bad enough to feel really shite, but bad enough to not quite feel yourself.

Oh sorry tiffany, I got totally the wrong end of the stick there. Welcome. Come and eat mucho fruit and veg and talk shite with us

I need a hair revamp. I've got an appt at the end of the month and I think I'll have quite a lot taken off. What did you have done Franny?

I have never seen the Soprano's, not even a wee bit of it.

TooTicky · 09/04/2009 17:56

Tip of the day: do not lick the end of the blender.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 09/04/2009 18:24

...toot...

not funny really but....why?

FrannyandZooey · 09/04/2009 18:26

you know though, i think i am too old for my current hairdressers
the colour was done by an aggressively trendy camp boy who was wearing LEGGINGS yes LEGGINGS and had a hole in his ear the size of a 50p
once he had me all foiled up and unable to move or see, he started long whispered bitchy conversation with boy doing the next door customer

thank god the woman that cut it was old and nice like me
