For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

MollyRogerslikeanEasterabbit · 09/04/2009 22:06

Just watched Jumo for first time time (and even DH wtched and snickered in places - whilst pretending not to watch)
How good is this film??

Will go and read thread now.....

MollyRogerslikeanEasterabbit · 09/04/2009 22:10

and I am still coughing and snorting. Dr said i am cleat of chest infection, just unlucky with a nasty virus. She asked if I had tried traditional methods such as honey and lemon drinks., No shit? Really? D'ya think??

pinkspottywellies · 09/04/2009 22:20

BBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Molly I'm glad someone else like Juno. I love the soundtrack too. Listened to it over and over when I got it.

Has anyone read the 'false date' AIBU thread about the penguin sanctuary? It's hilarious

MollyRogerslikeanEasterabbit · 09/04/2009 22:23

YY, been sniggering over it!

pinkspottywellies · 09/04/2009 22:32

Brilliant! Wish I was nearby. I'd have to go for a nosy!

FrannyandZooey · 09/04/2009 22:33

hello molly!

ds1 made an enormous song and dance over getting to sleep and finally shut up about 9.45 i think

he did exact same thing at christmas - much weeping and wailing
he remembered it clearly as he wanted me to read him the same story
he just gets so het up - excited - then worried - then loses the plot

does this remind you of anyone?

Hmm, maybe...

BBBee · 09/04/2009 22:39

hi toot, pink, molly, franny....

TooTicky · 09/04/2009 22:39

I did intrepid running in the dark and the rain. I am up to about 2 miles twice a day, which I am quite pleased about. I think I only started about 3 weeks ago.

TooTicky · 09/04/2009 22:41

Oh hello Bee
How are things?

TooTicky · 09/04/2009 22:43

Oh hello Bee
How are things?

pinkspottywellies · 09/04/2009 22:46

Woah TooT!! That's a lot of exercise. Steady on girl [actual concern veiled with joshiness]

TooTicky · 09/04/2009 22:48

Will be even better when school/playgroup start again, all that delivering and picking up!!

you're up late, are you okay?

pinkspottywellies · 09/04/2009 22:53

Tired actually. And hanging round on here reading stupid threads and not answering any. Thinking about going to bed but can't really be arsed.

Stupid.

Going to bed now.

Stop running so much. You'll waste away

TooTicky · 09/04/2009 22:56

Oh I can't give it up now, I am addicted.

Sleep well xx

FrannyandZooey · 09/04/2009 22:57

toot you're doing it again
you can't talk about this stuff on the thread and expect us not to respond honestly
it isn't fair on us, and i don't think it helps you

OP posts:
TooTicky · 09/04/2009 23:01

but running is okay isn't it?

TooTicky · 09/04/2009 23:01

it is good for mood and everythung

TooTicky · 09/04/2009 23:06

I;m sorry if it's not okay.

littlerach · 10/04/2009 09:54

Hey TooTyFruiTy.
I cannot run 100m I wouldn't have thought

Plans to go to Longleat are no more as it seems ot be about to rain
Dd1 tripped Up the stairs, bashed her head and broke her fave hairband so has been distraught most of the morning.

Molly, Juno is one of my fave films. Dh watched it with me and didn't laugh when I sobbed wiped away a tear or tow

And I love the soundtrack v much.

Hey BBeeee, nice to see you

pinkspottywellies · 10/04/2009 10:18

TooT, you asked, so, running is ok, it's good for mood and health and everything BUT 4 miles every day is a LOT of running so just make sure you're fuelling your body properly with food and sleep or you will make yourself ill. [stern]

Forgot to list yesterday and I had rhubarb from pil's garden! Also raisins, salad, carrots, peas, onion/squash/celery in casserole. Only about 6. Will try harder today. Think we're going to go to a castle or something today so will get some walky exercise.

Got some beetroot, parsnip and rocket seeds yesterday. (had parsnip and rocket already from last year but can't find them think DH 'tidied' them away in the garage)

Morning LR, sorry about the weather, hope you have a nice day anyway.

FrannyandZooey · 10/04/2009 10:19

TooT, eating hardly anything, and exercising loads and loads, is not ok, no
but you know that
i am not sure what to do because i don't think a thread where you come and say how much exercise you have done is going to be a good place for you at the moment, is it
i don't know what else to say

FrannyandZooey · 10/04/2009 10:24

good morning!
it's ds1's birthday and i am full of croissants
he got one of these and i do wish i had seen the 24 reviews saying the chocolate gets stuck and won't come out, before i had bought it
we have had tears already
it's not the sort of thing i would normally buy but he has been asking for about 3 years for one
i must admit a rich girl i knew had one when i was a child and i always coveted it immensely
anyway they are cheap crap now - don't buy them!
