For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

TooTicky · 21/02/2009 12:00

Ds2 has developed a taste for his own wee

FrannyandZooey · 21/02/2009 12:22

i could have done without knowing that tbh TooT

yes i like guad's tactful yet to the point questions
they can't possibly irritate anyone, i don't think pink will notice even
so
has anyone had a baby fall out of their fanois today, perchance? i am merely asking

BLW is a lot of fun lemur
my top tip is give big wedges of things that have skin on - eg melon, avocado
cut a bit of skin off at the top - the bit they will gum
the skin on the bottom of the slice makes it less slippy
my other tip is baked apple and baked potato with the skins on
they need something to get a hold of as everything gets so slippy when covered in baby saliva
ds2 can handle the chewing bit, it's the holding bit that challenges him
also aitch's site is good, for questions, and reassurance

phone call was interesting
at first she came in with a load of preconceptions - because we are home edding, and i want to give ds1 a different upbringing from mine, she presumed we were not giving any boundaries and that that would turn out to be the problem

i assured her we have PLENTY of boundaries

anyway
it did stir up quite a lot of stuff and i am still processing it, so i won't go into detail about it
but i would advise people to give them a call if they have similar worries (ie worries about their children's mental health)
they seem quite helpful and are entirely free

Yes, that was a much more sensible tip than mine Franny I used to do the leaving skin on thing too. When dd started eating I would always bin big gummed pieces of melon until suddenly one day she just left a piece of rind and I would always collect up a whole breadstick worth of crumbs until suddenly one day there were no crumbs It's brilliant

Drinking own wee. Ok.

pinkspottywellies · 21/02/2009 12:32

Sounds good Franny and of course when/if you want to talk about it or bounce anything off us, you know where we are.

FrannyandZooey · 21/02/2009 12:39

so
pink
if you turn round and look at the chair where you are sitting, is there anything there at all that catches your eye? a baby perhaps?

pink, you are so pretty....sigh. Nice bump. Are you pg????

I ghate having such a small house filled with so much stuff. Have lovely friend and her tribe coming for lunch tomorrow and i hate that I have to do a 2 hour tidy up just so they can all fit in

The sun made me put on a t-shirt and sneakers and I am freezing.

AtillaTheHoney · 21/02/2009 13:14

Hi...molly...you are pretty too!

I have a rowing machine.

I am going to rearrange the bedroom to make it fit.

Everyone is out, but I can't leave the house. But I am happy pootling.

I have eaten crap...and f&v.

and I don't care.

I may have a doughnut in a bit.

Hugphobics beware....

Guadalupe · 21/02/2009 13:22

Why can't you just say hugs to all? Does your finger just stick on the button and the batfink-like radar zooms out to show everyone what a big hug it is? It's really fucking irritating!

Gah!

Clearly the internet is irritating me today. I must sign off and go and find a meadow to stroll in, or a nice bleak field.

Tatties · 21/02/2009 13:29

Fantastic bump Pink You sound in good spirits
