For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

That's better thanks Franny you bastard.

I promise I will tell you when there's anything to tell though (and will be totally ignoring any questions about the possibility of impending labour) You may however ask how I am. I am fine thank you. And you?

I saw myself sideways in the mirror last night and was shocked I look perfectly normal from the back (so my sis says) - waist still intact! - and very neat from the front. So when I turned to dry my hands in front of the mirror in the restaurant toilets and looked like the side of a house I was Then I actually genuinely thought I could get in the 6 inch gap by the fridge to clean behind it Oh how I laughed when I remembered how huge I am

Guadalupe · 20/02/2009 21:00

Pink - sit down for heavens sake.

apple
iceburg lettuce
cucumber
kidney beans
tomatoes
satsumer

Sympathies with violin screeching. I love it played well but kids learning. Wince.

Everyone is still up. I suppose I ought to shift my arris and rectify this.

FrayedKnot · 20/02/2009 21:27

I think Pink is at the stage when sitting down doesn;t feel like the thing to do.

Is that a sign?

Franny, I do not believe we have a vegetarian restaurant or fair trade shop within 20 miles but I may be wrong.

I wish we'd moved to Canterbury

pinkspottywellies · 20/02/2009 21:31

Oh, I like that we're talking about me now No. It's not a sign. House just grotty! And I have been sitting down since dinner time and now I'm going to bed.

BBBee · 20/02/2009 21:38

it seems that focus is out of fashion and now we are allowed to just swan in and pronounce that we have eaten some crisps.

{{{{{{{{{{{{SB}}}}}}}}}}}}}

TooTicky · 21/02/2009 06:15

And those pointy bits on the hugs are the elbows.

stuffitllama · 21/02/2009 08:08

lol Toooooot

anything happening Pink?

Pink I think you are allowed not to clean any more, I think that's allowed FOR PETE'S SAKE

Franny it all sounds really crap for you at the moment. Everybody said about sleep and I totally agree. Aren't you at one of those moments when everything can go hang except the dc and your eating and sleeping? I mean, if you had flu or a "proper" illness you would go to bed for a couple of days. That's what I think you should do.

I keep breaking my resolution never to give advice.

Molly I hope you get your money. Ha'porth of tar and so on. Shoot I haven't been taken my zinc pills so I've forgotten everything. Attila I hope you're feeling good right now.

f & v rubbish and that's partly for not having to report it. It's like being allowed to watch daytime tv on an unexpected free afternoon. Most of it has been beans and dried fruit.

But Womble has given me great advice about produce hygiene and she is fab for saving me several hours a week of faff. Thank you Womble.

I have a new oven tra la.

stuffitllama · 21/02/2009 08:12

Oh but SB you sound totally fed up. Is it lots of things. You sound at a loss. Exp sounds exceptionally troublesome.

TooTicky · 21/02/2009 08:43

Stuffit
Do you have your proper internet back?
Congrats on oven.

stuffitllama · 21/02/2009 08:52

yes I do, it's very speedy
how are the hummingbirds?

TooTicky · 21/02/2009 08:55

oh, getting there slowly...how are you?

FrannyandZooey · 21/02/2009 09:23

morning
where's pink.....do you think......???

thanks all, again, it's a new day, and the sun is shining - you can wait until the evening again for me to get grimly negative and complain about everything

oh the therapist person is phoning this morning about ds1's anxiety! any minute in fact

thinking about it a lot this week has made me realise how low level anxious i am a lot of the time
which is quite funny as people who know me only a bit, constantly say how calm i am
it is a complete front
