My Bloody Clementine - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I think they can last a while FK but the germination rate reduces over time.

stuffitllama · 20/02/2009 15:34

Hey Fairlady....sorry you are not sleeping well.

Nice to 'see' you back.

Perhaps you will catch up soon and feel rejuvinated....

mollyroger · 20/02/2009 17:01

oh Bewilderwood is a place I have always wanted to go....too far away.

Off out for a Curry=oke evening at friends' tonight (Curry and Singstar!)
Will be vege curry and fruit salad and cheesecake
There was a marvellous continetal market in york and everyone was letting us taste everything, so nibbled my own bodyweight in dried mango and olives and paella and cheeses and halva and cheese and salami and cashews and cheese!
Dried mango is gorgeous! (But didn'y buy any as was £££££)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 20/02/2009 17:16

Just a quicky as haven't been in all day and am out again tonight.

Anyway, Franny I just took one tablet as my GP (aka Dr Arsehole) would not prescribe the course of tablets for me. Then I used the cream about 4 times a day, one of which was during the night. It went within about 10-14 days. I also pretty much cut out yeast for about 3 weeks. Oh, and I changed and washed my bra's much more frequently. Thrush is a complete stubborn bastard to get rid of.

I've heard good things about grapefruit seed extract as well, but have never used it myself.

Guad - a full report on your days activites please, it looks fab. Did you go to Roy's as well?

FairLadyRantALot · 20/02/2009 17:21

Oh Franny do you have thrush...what a mare...had this problem a lot when bf'ing ms...

Huhu Attilla

Mollyrogers..have a good time

Guadalupe · 20/02/2009 17:35

No, I did not go to Roy's lemur! I went over the bridge too fast though, thought I might take off.

Molly - you can come and we will all go and then you can stay here and we will go and swim in a lido or something.

It was great, BUT, really pricey imo. Cost £40 to get in, ds2 was free but it was a tenner for everyone else. It is basicly a big park in the trees. I feel slightly loathe to pay that much for myself to watch them play. I went on some things. ds2 loved the small pulley swing, it was quite safe but a bit unsettling to watch him fly off and stop with a jolt and shudder at the other end. He was screeching with laughter.

Also, it was great because there were about 500 people there and no queues and it was warm and spacious. Mid summer they have up to 6000 through in a day. And there was a fire, very nice to sit by with hot choc as it got a bit cooler.

1 apple. Oh dear.

Guadalupe · 20/02/2009 17:36

and I didn't notice the 3 for 2 offer on the website. They didn't point this out.

Roys, my goodness

I used to work round the corner from a kind of latter day Roys offshoot which took over the old Sainsbury's at Bowthorpe when it closed.

I whiled away many a lunch hour wondering whether to buy a pair of those plastic clog things and other bizarre stuff they sold.

Hmm, Guad, it does sound pricey.

It seems ridiculous to me that these places charge so very much. We took DS to a local zoo last year for the day, and it cost a fortune.

Yet we can go to London with our railcards, day out a fab museum, picnic and a couple of coffees, and spend a third of that.

My legs have stopped working. I have been actively active (housework, scrubbing out mouldy dishwasher, painting shed etc) for about 7 hours today.

Boco · 20/02/2009 19:14

NOt a lot of f&v, but 45 minutes swimming.

Is that Roys of Wroxham, the Out of Town Shopping Experience? I remember the jingle for Radio Broadland when I was about 12!

littlerach · 20/02/2009 19:23

Raisins
OJ
Pepper
tomatoes
more red pepper
yellow pepper
more tomatoes
carrots
peach (tinned )

If any of you have Freeview, there is an interview with Morrisey on TMF at 10.30pm tonight.

Dd1 picked dd2 up round her neck earlier. Dd2 was screaming. It was quite horrid. She is okay. It was all because dd2 put a sticker on dd1, who didn't like it.

TooTicky · 20/02/2009 19:34

god another day of trivial crap
his nappy rash is abysmal again
god i fucking give up
and he has a cough - guess how long before he will need antibiotics again? that will help with the thrush won't it

i am pretty ruddy sure that next door have a child learning to play the violin
judging by the nail dragging shrieking emerging from the house each evening at this time
it sounds fricking abominable
i can't think of anything less conducive to relaxing at the end of the day
i may have to say something - they have a big house, can't they practice at the OTHER end of it?

I've bought shed loads of fruit today and will eat it forthwith.

I have also cleaned the mould from the wall down the side of the fridge and (with my sister) hoovered all the cobwebs, cleaned the kitchen floor and the mouldy bits round the bath hoovered, packed my last bit of hospital bag (just clothes to come home in), and done all the ironing (although dsis decreed that it didn't all need ironing and made a 'put straight in the wardrobe pile').

I am now utterly exhausted

I have had two people ask 'any twinges' now and I'm not even due til tomorrow and besides twinges wouldn't tell them anything, except possibly making them ask more often so I'll def be keeping quiet if anything happens now Also last time was so quick that if I'd had a twinge, I'd be halfway there by now and not on the phone to them!!!! And you lot can just wait patiently and I will tell you as soon as there's anything to tell. If anyone asks 'any twinges?' there will be NO STICKERS FOR ANY OF YOU!

Boco, must be very worrying. Hope you get some answers soon.
