For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

TooTicky · 19/02/2009 23:32

Oh but the next title has to be Lemur's:

There was something in the pear tonight, the starfruits were bright, Fermango

Tails were stroked over the deal and anyway, Franny said yes.

Have been to village panto

Tired though.

OsmosisBanana · 19/02/2009 23:34

I never get a go [sulky]

Pink - just saw a photo of you on fb (stalker? yeah, little bit) and thought 'oh I used to have dress like that'.

Duh. Looks way better on you!

TooTicky · 19/02/2009 23:37

Hello OB
You will get a go, just be a good, patient banana

SuperBunny · 20/02/2009 01:03

Lots of good title suggestions.

peas
corn
baked beans
grapes
banana
tangerine
juice
sultanas
raisins

AtillaTheHoney · 20/02/2009 06:37

Oh TF, I am so pleased for you....have a lovely weekend being together and healing....

TooTicky · 20/02/2009 06:43

Good morning

AtillaTheHoney · 20/02/2009 08:42

Banana,
grapes,
juice,
tomatoes,
a 'lumpy' ( a smoothie that I haven't over blended so I don't break down the fibres too much)...very weird!

mollyroger · 20/02/2009 09:03

Dear TF I have no idea what you said, any of it except for Good Drugs.....But I am so glad your DH is home and on the mend

Morning all. Off to York to wander round dungeon place and eat cake.

Dh snored all night so am knackered.

mollyroger · 20/02/2009 09:04

oh yeas, clementine, apple, beany soup. Beansprouts, carrots, mushrooms, peppers, sugarsnaps, chinese cabbagy stuff. 10!

FrannyandZooey · 20/02/2009 09:24

oh god, the intercostal muscle thing sounds unpleasant
but kind of harmless in the long run?

well good news:

there is going to be NO problem about getting ds2 to lie still while I gently dribble the drops in
he thinks they are the BEST THING EVER
and cries when you take them away
main ingredient appears to be sucrose

also
i was slightly doubtful that it was in fact thrush
well my nipples this morning look like they have been scalded so, no doubts there

anyway
morning all
focus and all that

Tatties · 20/02/2009 09:29

TF, glad dh is home, hope things are ok

Franny, you just might find ds2's nappy area clears up after giving him the thrush drops. I would definitely also get yourself treated at the same time.

Had sore throats here and I need to do fruit shopping

AtillaTheHoney · 20/02/2009 09:29

empathetic {{{{{hugs}}}}}} molly....do you have murderous thoughts as well?

Guadalupe · 20/02/2009 09:45

Oh, god, it's the attack of the spiky hugs again. How are they comforting may I ask?

I like She Bangs the Plum but the others are good too.

We are going here today and I am going to drive. Dcs very excited.

I would also very much like this oven in my new kitchen but hey I can dream.

Tigerfeet - so pleased your dh is okay. What a worry though.

Tatties · 20/02/2009 09:49

Oooh have fun Guad, looks like a lovely day out

OsmosisBanana · 20/02/2009 09:50

kitchen

This is what I shall mostly be trying to assemble this weekend. I see lots of gin and a nervous breakdown on the horizon

AtillaTheHoney · 20/02/2009 10:21

If I had that in my kitchen...there wouldn't be any room to stand in it to cook!! lol

Oh lordy...I am now having serious kitchen

The spikes are on the outside of the hugs to ward away stress and bad vibes..

littlerach · 20/02/2009 10:28

Ooh, nice kitchen porn

Guad, I really wantde to take dds there when we were in Suffolk but it was too far from where we were.

Raisins

TF, glad he is home and you can kind of relax!

FrannyandZooey · 20/02/2009 12:18

ooh, i love orange, have yours that colour osba

tatties yes the penny has dropped now! i think we are awash with thrush again and have been since he was in hospital tbh
i have had it several times myself but didn't click this time
i have so much daktarin i could start a pharmacy

anyway
last night i dreamt i met morgan freeman
the sad bit is that in the dream, i kept thinking "I can't wait to tell Mumsnet"

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 20/02/2009 12:20

i like "there's a carrot in my kitchen"
and "wash that mango right out of my hair"
but ONLY like that, not with the squash and the pear or the yam
they are overkill imo

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 20/02/2009 12:20

also it is funnier to think of washing mango out of your hair
well it passes for humour in my book anyway

FrannyandZooey · 20/02/2009 12:22

lemur (and tatties)
did you just have one tablet for yourself to take with thrush? the bfn leaflet says one large dose and then 10 days of a smaller dose, but the doc has just given me 2 medium doses - not sure whether to take all at once, or what
asked chemist who said take one now and one after your next period
??? that'll be round about 2010 then

OP posts:
Tatties · 20/02/2009 12:48

Trying to remember Franny - I know I definitely took a course of tablets which lasted several days - can't remember if there was an initial higher dose. I also had to put cream on myself. Have you felt ok in between times or have your nipples always felt a bit niggly? It took a good long while for me to feel completely normal (although the really bad discomfort went quickly) and ds's nappy rash cleared up within a day of taking the drops (he had no signs in his mouth which is why our thrush went undiagnosed for six weeks)

Tatties · 20/02/2009 12:54

It's a bit confusing with the doses isn't it Franny - could you call the surgery to see if the doctor can phone you back to clarify? And arm yourself with the BFN info so you could suggest the most effective course of treatment? You really want to get rid of it all in one go if possible. My gp didn't know any of it really, I had to suggest that ds and I were both treated, as opposed to just me

FrayedKnot · 20/02/2009 14:06

Hello

Grapefruit
Dried fruit (muesli)
Leafy stuff
Carrot sticks
Hoummous

Hope the thrush drops/ pill does the trick Franny. I didn;t have it when DS was small, but I do get it from time to time now and it can be really difficult to get rid of. It seems the strongest sharpest dose you can do is needed to shift it if it has got really established.

Guad I would love to know what that place is like, may go at Easter if suitable for a 5 yr old? Hope you have fun!

I'm very excited because our new shed has come and DS and I have been sorting out the stuff which is going to go in it. This afternoon we are going to paint inside it.

I am going to have a seed sort out as well. Do seeds last forever, or do they "go off"?

I have just found some in the garage which maybe a few years old.
