For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

One of my customers has asked me not to work in the school holidays because things are getting so complicated with the the DC's coming with me.......and the snowball incident. When you most need the money. Arse.

TigerFeet · 19/02/2009 14:56

Oh god Boco you must be beside yourself... have posted on t'other thread.

Farking hospital can't decide what to do with dh. He was on an assessment ward for two days, he's now on a "proper" ward and they are doing scans and so forth. They seemed so certain he had blood clots for the past 48 hours and then today they don't seem so sure . Thankfully my Mum was already here so she's been looking after dd. She went home earlier but the inlaws are here now.

My appetite is coming back, these new pills seem to be working really well. I soon know about it if I forget to take them though. I may start listing again, although I still find that I'd rather eat toast, chips and so forth. It seems to be in my mind more than my stomach now though .

TigerFeet · 19/02/2009 14:58

I'm very of swishy hair. Mine is to thin to swish.

Mushrooms
Onions

mollyroger · 19/02/2009 15:00

Hve posted on your thread Boco. x

Atlilla sorry for you too. School holidays are very difficult for me too, and If Dh didn't work pat time and I didn't have my parents relatively near, I'd be stuffed. or umnemployable...school holiday clubs are not an option for ds1.

TigerFeet · 19/02/2009 15:07

Holidays are a bugger aren't they? DD has only been at school 6 months but we are noticing already that annual leave etc has been eaten up. We have no family nearby but thankfully IL's are retired and my Mum works in a school so they are available to come over and help out (invaluable this week). One of the reasons I went part time.

AtillaTheHoney · 19/02/2009 15:07

Oh molly...can't remember if you do hugs or piratey punches so have both...don't often catch up with you these days.

Good to hear from you TF....hope things
are manageable....take care of yourself...

mollyroger · 19/02/2009 15:13

I've just got 83 in scrabble with one word!!! (don't worry....not with you toot!!)

TigerFeet · 19/02/2009 16:45

Atilla [awe] that's impressive! I am so utterly shitey shite at scrabble. I stopped playing it on FB due to extreme embarrassment

TooTicky · 19/02/2009 17:00

I could've handled it Atilla [nonchalant]

hey TF, have a hug {{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}}

Manly back pats to Tiger and Boco.

I wish I had something helpful to say Boco. I hope your instincts are right.

And pats also to people who have had no sleep and migraines and stuff.

My headache has gone but I still have the twitchy eye thing which is annoying.

I have decided I am going to try some acupuncture before next AF to see if it helps with my headaches. I am fed up with taking painkillers just to manage

Have had 4 fruit portions today and about to have large veg stir fry for supper so not doing too badly.

DS tried out a holiday club today because I also have the same problem with school holidays. He seemed to have quite enjoyed it but mainly because they had some computer games

I am fairly sure he won;t be going there again unless I am desperate .

TigerFeet · 19/02/2009 17:32

DH update: after being told on Tuesday he was riddled with blood clots and spending three days being very stressed and worried, they have now cancelled his scan and are sending him home. They think it's muscular.

TigerFeet · 19/02/2009 17:34

FK - perhaps it's my occasional-lazy-parenting-is-allowed rule but I don't think the occasional day of playing computer games does anyone any harm (obv depending on the games being played). This particularly applies when the sanity of the parent is being tested.

OsmosisBanana · 19/02/2009 17:35

That sounds really shite for you Boco. Poor little DD.

TF - glad to hear you're bearing up.

There's a man in my kitchen, he is sorting out something called elecktrickery or something. I don't trust it.

Oooh. Thread title... There's a carrot in my kitchen what am I gonna do.

Tenuous...

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2009 18:15

i know this is ridiculous to get upset about but i think ds2 has now got thrush in his mouth
i am feeling like i'm not coping with this stuff today tbh
i know it is trivial
i am so tired and ds1 takes every available second that he can grab from me and i never get to just relax and enjoy ds2, all i manage is to take care of his basic needs and do all his creams for eczema, and when he feeds or falls asleep in the sling he PINCHES my breasts and the tops of my arms and i want to scream
and i did shout OW and he cried, and then ds1 cried
oh god

mollyroger · 19/02/2009 18:18

TF, how stressfull and worrying this all must be for you.
Franny, just ouch and sympathy...

We have to find almost £1000 next month. Shit. All the boat expenses have come at once Anyone need an extra kidney? Or two..I have two!

mollyroger · 19/02/2009 18:21

I'm not expecting sympathy by the way..I know we are bloody lucky to have the boat...It's just....Sigh. It wasn't exactly an expense we chose if you see what I mean.

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2009 18:21

so now in addition to putting cream all over his body 3 times a day i have to 'slowly dribble' 1 ml of liquid 'gently all over his mouth' 5 times a day. well that will be easy
and she said the drops would also treat my nipples - well i've googled, and that's bollocks
so i'll have to go back again tomorrow

sorry, just letting off steam
feels insensitive when people are coping with big things on here but no-one in rl wants to hear me blathering on about this, that's for sure!

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2009 18:22

molly expenses are still expenses
i hope something marvellous happens and the £1000 turns up!

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2009 18:24

tiger how can it be muscular? what were the blood clots they thought he had? sounds like a bad joke doesn't it, so sorry for your worries

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2009 18:29

wish had posted earlier when was more positive
i went to gym which was fab
although the trainer who told me to try to go an extra half hour in the week lied - she said "you can do a lot in half an hour" - well you CAN'T
boys were fine in creche, miracle! was first time they have been. i felt ok as they were together and ds1 could grass them up if they were being shit they liked it
i would never in a million years have left ds1 in creche at this age! but i did do 30 mins. i think they would have been ok for a bit longer but you pay by the half hour - an hour would be £6.40 - in addition to my regular gym fees - ouch

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 19/02/2009 18:31

I've posted on your thread Boco, I'm thinking of you all.

TF - muscular? Is that not a bit odd? Are you happy with their explanation?

Franny - have you got nyastatin? Don't worry about slowly dribbling it, just give a little squirt either side and on the middle on his tongue. I used it for ds and the thrush went within 2-3 days. ds2 is not too young to be told no when he pinches, don't feel bad if you have to firmly say no.

FrannyandZooey · 19/02/2009 18:37

oh really lemur? oh thank you
the woman in the chemist was saying "do it when he is relaxed and lying down on his back with his mouth open"
erm yes because he always does that 4 times a day
did you not get treated also? and it went away?
