For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

TF sorry to hear about dh, hope he's ok and out of hosp soon. I would offer to help in any way I can but I'm not much use at the moment!! Even my friend round the corner has decreed that I'm an useless babysitter at the mo cause she'll be having dd when I go into labour Hope you're feeling well enough to cope - are the MS meds keeping you on track?

Did no-one else notice BBB's meat typo?! Made me

DD got clobbered by a little boy at soft play today and I made it through a horrible rope-tunnel, which I usually avoid like the plague, in about 2 seconds!! Mama-tiger moment. My sis was astonished!! She had been through it once and was about to go round the longer way to get dd but I was already there!!

Going to the cinema tonight to see a chick flick. Anyone want to place bets on waters bursting spectacularly given public place and way past bedtime factors Hope not. My sister would freak!!

I have eaten no fruit or veg. Unless you class the appley topping of a very very fine pork pie

However I do have a swishy new haircut. As does ds1. So not a complete waste of a day

Dinner will involve leeks, mushrooms, mange ttoutes and green beans. And strawberries. Dear lord that's only five. I'll get my coat.

good dairy-free sources of calcium and iron include yer leafy deep green veg: brocolli, kale (kale has more calcium in then milk!) bok choy etc.
Figs
tofu
Almonds good for calcium.

TooTicky · 18/02/2009 19:39

Am bloody knackered. Baby Lemur was up at 11, 2, 4 and 6. I was expecting to feel a tooth or something this morning (it's v unlike him to wake like this), but there is zilch. I was feeling tired and grumpy when I went in for the last time, but he just looked up at me with this big grin. Aaaaaawwww, he's so cute.
